2009இல் விற்பனை துவங்கியபோதே இந்த நானோ கார் என் மனதை ஈர்த்துவிட்டது அடுத்த பத்து வருடம் இந்த காரை என் முதல் காராக புதிய காராக வாங்க நினைத்தேன் ஆனால் என் குடும்ப சூழ்நிலை காரணமாக 2019 வரை என்னால் இந்த காரை டாடா SHOW ரூமில் வாங்க முடியவில்லை. கடைசியாக அனைத்து தடைகளையும் தாண்டி கையில் இரண்டு லட்சத்தி ஐம்பதாயிரம் வைத்துக்கொண்டு 2020 மார்ச் மாதம் இந்த காரை வாங்க பல முயற்ச்சி செய்தேன் தமிழ் நாட்டில் உள்ள அனைத்து முக்கிய டாடா ஷோவ்ரூம்களுக்கும் கால் செய்து விசாரித்தேன் இந்த காரை நிறுத்திவிட்டார்கள் என்றே பதில் வந்தது, தமிழ் நாட்டை தாண்டி பெங்களூரு, மும்பை, புனே, ஹைதராபாத், டெல்லி என்று இந்தியாவின் அனைத்து முக்கிய ஷோ ரூம்களுக்கு கால் செய்து ஏதாவது ஸ்டாக் இருக்கிறதா என்று விசாரித்தேன் எங்குமே இல்லை என்ற பதில் தான் வந்தது. டாடா CUSTOMER CARE ருக்கு கால் செய்தேன் மெயில் செய்தேன் எங்கும் ஒரே பதில் "இல்லை". கடைசியாக கொல்கத்தாவில் cooch behar என்ற இடத்தில் உள்ள ஒரு டாடா ஷோ ரூமில் இந்தியாவிலேயே ஒரே ஒரு கடைசி ஆட்டோமேட்டிக் நானோ CAR விற்பனைக்கு உள்ளது என்று அங்கு கால் செய்து அனைத்தையும் விஷயங்களையும் கேட்டு, மூன்று லட்சம் என்ற விலையில் பேசி NANO காரை வாங்குவதற்கு தயாராகிய பொது நேஷனல் WIDE LOCKDOWN போட்டுவிட்டார்கள் இதனால் என்னால் அந்த காரை FIRST HAND இல் வாங்க முடியாமல் போய்விட்டது. இன்றும் இதை நினைத்து மனம் நிம்மதியில்லாமல் இருக்கிறேன். ஆட்டோமொபைல் துறையில் கார் என்றராலே எனக்கு நானோ தான் மனதிற்கு வரும். உலகத்தில் ஆயிரம் கார் மாடல்கள் இருக்கலாம் ஆனால் பல புத்தம் புதிய கார்கள் ரோட்டில் அணிவகுத்து சென்றாலும் சாலையில் ஏதாவது ஒரு நானோ கார் சென்றாலும் இன்றும் என் கண்கள் அந்த நானோ காரை திரும்பி பார்க்கும். என் இதயத்தில் என்றுமே நானோவிற்கு ஒரு இடம் இருக்கும்
Sir, I purchased a Nano few months back as my 2nd car. But, it has become my primary car today. I drove this Nano to Kodaikanal 5 times within 2 months. Awesome driving in hills road. After watching this review, I am 200% satisfied on my Nano. 👍

I have 2013 Nano LX. Clocked 1.07 L kms. Max speed is 105 kmph. Still getting ~23 kmpl in highways. The real power of this car can be felt when you take this in the hills area because of the rear wheel drive. Great city car!

This is the most underrated car made in India for India. I owned a nano 2013 version and used it until 2022. Waiting period of spares and increasing cost of maintenance made me to change the car. This was my first car and I still miss it. I am sure nano will be rebooted in EV version and I will own that. Maruti Suzuki or Hyundai cannot even think of making such cars. Tata cars were always underrated and it's pleasing to see consumer attitude towards TATA has changed.

I have 2013 Nano LX 4speed manual without power steering. I have completed 40000+km. I have took it chikamangalore hill top, Agumbe ghat. Valparai, Nelliampathy hill top with 4+1 people. Munnar hills through Udumalai pet single road . Decent ground clearance helped for semi offroad in hill Station. 2 cylinder power is advantage in this car even with AC in hills. N number of time 450km single stretch drive with 10 mins fuel break. Seats are well heightened so easy for elder person. Huge front door opening almost 80+ degrees. Safety questionable at this price. Driving skill matters to drive a car on road, doesn't matter whether it is BMW or TataNano :-)

We had Nano manual, used to travel from Mettupalayam to Mysore via Dimbam forest with 5 members.. literally it gives enough power. Infact initially we scared whether this climbs Dimbam forest or not.. but the performance which produces is unbelievable.. I think now this is right time to TATA to relaunch this vehicle...
I got my 2011 silver Nano LX 4 speed manual car on first allotment. While on road everyone will look at the car and used to enquire many details. The car was extensively used at Chennai, Neyveli, Vizag & Mangalore before sold few years back on exchange. So far no issues with the vehicle and travelled twice Neyveli- Vizag non-stop covering in excess of 1000 kms @ 100+ kmph. Also travelled from Neyveli-Mangalore twice covering 800 kms non-stop. It was stable, at highways too subject to proper driving. Only issue is 15 litres fuel tank warrants frequent refuelling. Otherwise, it's a wonderful vehicle for all terrains to move 4/5 people in comfort. A/c also very effective. Always used to cruise at speeds in excess of 100 kmph as spped is controlled at max 105 kmph. Still I feel like owning a nano. Tata can think of reintroduce nano by treating it as an iconic vehicle like VW Beatle.
I get emotional when I see nano. I owned a 2nd hand nano for 2 years. It is such a great car and very very underrated one. The only issue is we end up owning 2 cars the other one exclusively for long trips. So I had to sell it. Unfortunately all r using it just to learn... I have used it for long trips too and only after I started using my new car I realized how economical nano was from mileage perspective....

I bought the same model, same colour in July, 2016. I was paralyzed on the left, so had to drive it with right and and right leg. Drove to work one year. Now it is being used by my wife. Nothing to complain. Space, height etc are ok. But never got a mileage of above 15 km/lit. The average was always 13 or so. I can't believe when people say, 18, 24 or 29.

Very good commuter car. For those with back pain while driving 2 wheeler. This is best alternative. Very easy to park and scoots easily through traffic. Build quality is best. I am using it for 10 years. 2012 model was with me for 7 years covered 1,00,000 km. Right now I have 2017 twist xta automatic done more than 45,000 kms. Very easy to drive. 12 inch wheel drives through bad roads easily. Driven in floods no issues in knee deep logging. Tata gave many attractive packages. Excellent road side assistance. Once had an issue with gear actuator in my second amt Nano. Contacted Tata customer service got the car picked up in couple of hours and since it was under warranty for 4 years 40000kms they replaced the entire gearbox and amt unit free. The regular service does not cross 1000. Manual used to give me 17kmpl and AMT gives 15. Just need to adjust to driving dynamics then will get good driving pleasure.

My Tata Nano CX manual, driving since Dec 2009, is a fantastic city car. It is my first car, purchased for 1.7L on road price Chennai. Real value for money and great utility. Good driving comfort and it is a family car. Convenient to drive, park. Can make U-Turns even in narrow roads. Very sad that Nano car did not sell much.

I bought an used twist XT,2016,recently as a second option. Very compact and user friendly vehicle with good mileage of 21kms/litre at a normal drive. Very low maintenance cost too when compared to others.As Mr.Birla said,it is very convenient for local use but couldn't say that is not advisable for long travel if the speed limit is under control

Tata Nano is not just a car or a machine it's a emotion it is one of our family member, This car is living with me for 11yrs i have driven non stop from Chennai to Ooty and viseversa non stop means non stop just stopped for refueling with 4 persons onboard. Again and again ur insulting nano as small car small car like that. I am owning 2016 Nano Twist Genx AMT version I simply say it's a marvelous vehicle for city drive and more well for long drive also.This is my second car I feel very much comfortable for driving this vehicle I am getting good mileage in city 18 to 19 in highway 24to 25 with avg speed of 80to 90km sports mode 23...... simply it's a indian benz micro compact car.
I have 2014 model twist no dicky model. This is my best ever car very low maintenance, similar to auto but reach 0 to 60 in just 5 to 7 seconds if you can control the vehicle its amazing, its a killer mileage always above 25 even in city with ac, if i go highway at 60 kmph i get 27kmpl with 4 people, i always go erode to Chennai in nano 8 hours drive , solid 27 kmpl, with ac. And service center also very easy for nano, immediate half day service, i only dont like the brake it should atleast get 2 disk in front

I bought this car (model 2017) in April 2022,I would strongly recommend this for city use as it is extremely good to drive in cities and parking is pretty much easy than any other car.. As Birla said break is lagging but if we are under normal speed, we can manage well to apply break elsr bit risky that we might hit.. Compared to ALTO it has excellent room space... but i always drive in 60km/h in OMR, rarely went upto 80.. Once there was an incident when I drive in OMR near padur, cow was sitting in OMR , i could not see it as one of the car was ahead and i tried to overtake the car and suddenly i could see the cow and applied heavy brake, but it dragged till near the cow..so i always advise to drive at 60km/h as brake is not reliabel for high speeds...
It's not a cheapest car...it's an affordable car ....most of the people thinks nano is only one lakh rupee...please check the price when it's stopped production ...it's an underrated vehicle ...
Sir.. please study about the details of the vehicle before review. The vents below the rear door which you mentioned as dummy exhaust is not an Exhaust, but an air dam to cool the engine at the rear. Also, you mentioned about rubber band effect which is a phenomenon of CVT. AMTs only have head nod effect.
I am using Nano car. 25 km per liter mileage. Low maintenance cost. Almost like a bike. We have 6 people traveling in it. Performance in the hills that we did not expect. Although there are many flaws in what you said, its price is many times higher than Maruthi cars. Its comparison is 800 Alto. In a recent car accident in Kerala, the front of a Honda city car was completely crushed. So you can't say Nano as Top. Ok compared to Honda car though. The last thing you said is that it is expensive. You can definitely change this by asking Nano users
Yes , Maintenance and mileage saves you lot. 10yrs back went for other model, showroom GM asked me to just drive Nano and give feedback. After test drive and i bought immediately.
Dear& Dear... I have been possessed TATA Nano car LX model 2012..i had purchased 2022..one lakh, first purchaser had purchased 2.20 thousand. Nice car affordable car, msnual car.. After 2015 boot has been introduced speed National Highways 80 km I driven.. I Love Nano car.. We can go any where boldly without hesitation. 6 feet man can easily Driven without difficulty.. All facilities are available.. More or less 23 km available.. Poor man Downtrodden people immense fruitful ! Birla immense thanks you haven't thread bare discussion TATA Nano car. Nice stupendous! Good review.We have one lx 2011 and one cx 2012 manual transmission cars.Both are performing well.We 4 adults travelled Chennai to Madurai in 6.5 hrs.6.30 am to 1pm.including refuelling,toll gate timing and breakfast timing.Speedo read from 90 to 105.Car was driven by young man.Except engine sound,other comfort was ok.The cx model gives 20 plus km per lt.if we control the speed 50 to 70 km per hr. Request Tata Ratan ji to bring back Tata Nano petrol with manual transmission.
I own a 2017 NANO TWIST XT which I bought it as a pre-owned vehicle 14 months ago. It's a fantastic car. The maximum mileage I have drawn so far is 24 km/ litre. I have driven it with five adults on a steep incline, and it climbed without any hassle. Low maintenance than a 350 cc bike. Who said it is not possible for speeds above 100. I driven chennai to tenkasi in 11 hrs on multiple times. Cruising at 100kmph. Excellent car. I own nano, swift and civic. Still I feel nano is best.
I am using this nano from past 10 years and its 2nd new ones. I traveled along with my family more than 70000 kms and the performance is trouble free provided if periodically service. No back leg pain even traveled 3 to 4 hundreds kms at stech. I feel fresh during travel. No negative comments entertain by me personally. Thanks My nano gives 20 to 23 kms .per liter of petrol.

I test drove this car when it was introduced and was pretty much impressed with it as you are - The space and stance are great. I was also impressed with it's stearing. The new car I drove didn't sway or jerk like this old one you tested. I only hated the auto like sound it emitted and the shapes of head and tail lamps. For a six footer that I am, the cabin space was very comfortable. It certainly is a great affordable car for city commute; certainly not for highway as any small car like alto, eon,etc would be. When I was driving down in my car from Ooty through the steep Moyar road, I was surprised to see this little car ascending effortlessly, the way up opposite me. I used to wonder why they could not use the area under the nose for luggage space while the engine lies at the rear. Good review.

I have 2013 Nano LX. Clocked 1.07 L kms. Max speed is 105 kmph. Still getting ~23 kmpl in highways. The real power of this car can be felt when you take this in the hills area because of the rear wheel drive. Great city car!

This is the most underrated car made in India for India. I owned a nano 2013 version and used it until 2022. Waiting period of spares and increasing cost of maintenance made me to change the car. This was my first car and I still miss it. I am sure nano will be rebooted in EV version and I will own that.
Maruti Suzuki or Hyundai cannot even think of making such cars. Tata cars were always underrated and it's pleasing to see consumer attitude towards TATA has changed.

I have 2013 Nano LX 4speed manual without power steering. I have completed 40000+km. I have took it chikamangalore hill top, Agumbe ghat. Valparai, Nelliampathy hill top with 4+1 people. Munnar hills through Udumalai pet single road . Decent ground clearance helped for semi offroad in hill Station. 2 cylinder power is advantage in this car even with AC in hills. N number of time 450km single stretch drive with 10 mins fuel break.
Seats are well heightened so easy for elder person. Huge front door opening almost 80+ degrees. Safety questionable at this price.
Driving skill matters to drive a car on road, doesn't matter whether it is BMW or TataNano :-)

40000km , mileage is low for me after 5yrs 18kmpl with AC. Average speed 80-90kmph.
We had Nano manual, used to travel from Mettupalayam to Mysore via Dimbam forest with 5 members.. literally it gives enough power. Infact initially we scared whether this climbs Dimbam forest or not.. but the performance which produces is unbelievable.. I think now this is right time to TATA to relaunch this vehicle...
I got my 2011 silver Nano LX 4 speed manual car on first allotment. While on road everyone will look at the car and used to enquire many details. The car was extensively used at Chennai, Neyveli, Vizag & Mangalore before sold few years back on exchange. So far no issues with the vehicle and travelled twice Neyveli- Vizag non-stop covering in excess of 1000 kms @ 100+ kmph. Also travelled from Neyveli-Mangalore twice covering 800 kms non-stop. It was stable, at highways too subject to proper driving. Only issue is 15 litres fuel tank warrants frequent refuelling. Otherwise, it's a wonderful vehicle for all terrains to move 4/5 people in comfort. A/c also very effective. Always used to cruise at speeds in excess of 100 kmph as spped is controlled at max 105 kmph. Still I feel like owning a nano. Tata can think of reintroduce nano by treating it as an iconic vehicle like VW Beatle.
I get emotional when I see nano. I owned a 2nd hand nano for 2 years. It is such a great car and very very underrated one. The only issue is we end up owning 2 cars the other one exclusively for long trips. So I had to sell it. Unfortunately all r using it just to learn... I have used it for long trips too and only after I started using my new car I realized how economical nano was from mileage perspective....

I bought the same model, same colour in July, 2016. I was paralyzed on the left, so had to drive it with right and and right leg. Drove to work one year. Now it is being used by my wife. Nothing to complain. Space, height etc are ok. But never got a mileage of above 15 km/lit. The average was always 13 or so. I can't believe when people say, 18, 24 or 29.

Best car for small family. For bike nano is the best choice. And one more thing mainly yearly maintenance cost like bike repair cost only. Yearly 5000 rs to service this car.

Very good commuter car. For those with back pain while driving 2 wheeler. This is best alternative. Very easy to park and scoots easily through traffic. Build quality is best. I am using it for 10 years. 2012 model was with me for 7 years covered 1,00,000 km. Right now I have 2017 twist xta automatic done more than 45,000 kms. Very easy to drive. 12 inch wheel drives through bad roads easily. Driven in floods no issues in knee deep logging. Tata gave many attractive packages. Excellent road side assistance. Once had an issue with gear actuator in my second amt Nano. Contacted Tata customer service got the car picked up in couple of hours and since it was under warranty for 4 years 40000kms they replaced the entire gearbox and amt unit free. The regular service does not cross 1000. Manual used to give me 17kmpl and AMT gives 15. Just need to adjust to driving dynamics then will get good driving pleasure.
It's Mr. Rattan Sir's dream project. His moto is to make the dream come true of the people whose ambitious to buy a car even if they are surviving just above the poverty line... I will be the happiest person if TATA bring back this car in EV segment.

My Tata Nano CX manual, driving since Dec 2009, is a fantastic city car. It is my first car, purchased for 1.7L on road price Chennai. Real value for money and great utility. Good driving comfort and it is a family car. Convenient to drive, park. Can make U-Turns even in narrow roads. Very sad that Nano car did not sell much.
I bought on April/2010 and crossed 1,04,231km. Still running and I don’t feel an auto sound, I feel a rear engine sound as like any car that sounds in front.

I bought an used twist XT,2016,recently as a second option. Very compact and user friendly vehicle with good mileage of 21kms/litre at a normal drive. Very low maintenance cost too when compared to others.As Mr.Birla said,it is very convenient for local use but couldn't say that is not advisable for long travel if the speed limit is under control

I am owning 2016 Nano Twist Genx AMT version I simply say it's a marvelous vehicle for city drive and more well for long drive also.This is my second car I feel very much comfortable for driving this vehicle I am getting good mileage in city 18 to 19 in highway 24to 25 with avg speed of 80to 90km sports mode 23...... simply it's a indian benz micro compact car.

I have 2014 model twist no dicky model. This is my best ever car very low maintenance, similar to auto but reach 0 to 60 in just 5 to 7 seconds if you can control the vehicle its amazing, its a killer mileage always above 25 even in city with ac, if i go highway at 60 kmph i get 27kmpl with 4 people, i always go erode to Chennai in nano 8 hours drive , solid 27 kmpl, with ac. And service center also very easy for nano, immediate half day service, i only dont like the brake it should atleast get 2 disk in front

I bought this car (model 2017) in April 2022,I would strongly recommend this for city use as it is extremely good to drive in cities and parking is pretty much easy than any other car.. As Birla said break is lagging but if we are under normal speed, we can manage well to apply break elsr bit risky that we might hit.. Compared to ALTO it has excellent room space... but i always drive in 60km/h in OMR, rarely went upto 80.. Once there was an incident when I drive in OMR near padur, cow was sitting in OMR , i could not see it as one of the car was ahead and i tried to overtake the car and suddenly i could see the cow and applied heavy brake, but it dragged till near the cow..so i always advise to drive at 60km/h as brake is not reliabel for high speeds...

Sir.. please study about the details of the vehicle before review. The vents below the rear door which you mentioned as dummy exhaust is not an Exhaust, but an air dam to cool the engine at the rear. Also, you mentioned about rubber band effect which is a phenomenon of CVT. AMTs only have head nod effect.
I am using Nano car. 25 km per liter mileage. Low maintenance cost. Almost like a bike. We have 6 people traveling in it. Performance in the hills that we did not expect. Although there are many flaws in what you said, its price is many times higher than Maruthi cars. Its comparison is 800 Alto. In a recent car accident in Kerala, the front of a Honda city car was completely crushed. So you can't say Nano as Top. Ok compared to Honda car though. The last thing you said is that it is expensive. You can definitely change this by asking Nano users

Dear& Dear... I have been possessed TATA Nano car LX model 2012..i had purchased 2022..one lakh, first purchaser had purchased 2.20 thousand. Nice car affordable car, msnual car.. After 2015 boot has been introduced speed National Highways 80 km I driven.. I Love Nano car.. We can go any where boldly without hesitation. 6 feet man can easily Driven without difficulty.. All facilities are available.. More or less 23 km available.. Poor man Downtrodden people immense fruitful ! Birla immense thanks you haven't thread bare discussion TATA Nano car. Nice stupendous! Good review.We have one lx 2011 and one cx 2012 manual transmission cars.Both are performing well.We 4 adults travelled Chennai to Madurai in 6.5 hrs.6.30 am to 1pm.including refuelling,toll gate timing and breakfast timing.Speedo read from 90 to 105.Car was driven by young man.Except engine sound,other comfort was ok.The cx model gives 20 plus km per lt.if we control the speed 50 to 70 km per hr.
Request Tata Ratan ji to bring back Tata Nano petrol with manual transmission.

I own a 2017 NANO TWIST XT which I bought it as a pre-owned vehicle 14 months ago. It's a fantastic car. The maximum mileage I have drawn so far is 24 km/ litre. I have driven it with five adults on a steep incline, and it climbed without any hassle. Low maintenance than a 350 cc bike.
Hats off to Mr. Ratan Tata for conceiving this idea and making it a reality (COMMON MANs /POCKET-FRIENDLY CAR). He has proved to the world that Indians can make better cars at a competitive cost. TM can rebrand NANO with a new name as NANO failed because of the wrong perception of the people. Many people give their opinion by seeing the car (NEVER JUST A BOOK BY ITS COVER), not by using it for a considerable amount of kilometers. Happy to see the comments of so many happy customers of NANO. Hope NANO will be relaunched soon and will gain its glory

I am using this nano from past 10 years and its 2nd new ones. I traveled along with my family more than 70000 kms and the performance is trouble free provided if periodically service. No back leg pain even traveled 3 to 4 hundreds kms at stech. I feel fresh during travel. No negative comments entertain by me personally. Thanks

Tata Nano is wonderful compact SUV car in this world. You can't expect performance will give that car. Nano not a small car friends. Nano is really room space is equal to Maruti baleno. Wonderful mileage24+, amazing performance, more then space, sporty drive, cute look, 4+1person hills performance vera level in Ooty, total I say Ratan Tata Amazing creation is one and only TATA NANO etc...

I test drove this car when it was introduced and was pretty much impressed with it as you are - The space and stance are great. I was also impressed with it's stearing. The new car I drove didn't sway or jerk like this old one you tested. I only hated the auto like sound it emitted and the shapes of head and tail lamps. For a six footer that I am, the cabin space was very comfortable. It certainly is a great affordable car for city commute; certainly not for highway as any small car like alto, eon,etc would be.
When I was driving down in my car from Ooty through the steep Moyar road, I was surprised to see this little car ascending effortlessly, the way up opposite me.
I used to wonder why they could not use the area under the nose for luggage space while the engine lies at the rear.
