    Thanks for your review Vince 👍 It's indeed a heavy and long rifle for active hunting. I do like front weight with freehand shooting but i did see immediately that the stock is not optimal for that. A big tube like that will give a lot of shots 🙂 Cheers!

      Thanks Ron, yup one really must try carrying one of these for a short while to see what I'm talking about. Definitely a huge shot count, 200 plus no problems. Maybe a carbon buddy bottle would've helped significantly with the weight and handling 🤔👍👍👍

    Nice shooting. The groups looked very standard to me based on the tests I have been doing for Pellet dispersion. I have shot over 20 thousand pellets through my TX200 HC testing group dispersion. Tested 31 different types of pellets, some of them were such poor quality I had to remove them from testing.
    My findings are that if you shoot a 20 or 30 shot groups you will find that your group size is considerably bigger than a 5 shot group. My testing data shows that groups out to 40 yards could have a dispersion radius from 6mm at best up to 28mm. All testing was done indoors so no wind would affect the results.
    For me the biggest let down is Pellet quality and consistency, the guns are not really the problem.
    I also only counted a flyer if it was absolutely obvious it was a flyer, flyers tend to be way off target.
    It all adds up to a combination of Gun, Pellet and the shooter, this method I believe gives a true picture of the trio capability.
    It would be great if you could do a similar test and show your results.

      Thanks for the great comment my friend. Yup very happy to do what you requested. I'll shoot 2 30 round groups at 30m and 40m both in .177 and .22 calibres and measure the groups. Obviously I'll film the whole thing. I'm genuinely interested to see how this will pan out. Also I agree 100% about the pellets being the issue in regards to consistency, I've just about stopped using JSBs at the moment because I'm finding far too many pellets damaged/deformed for my liking 👍👍👍

      @@vincentenglish8489 thanks for the reply Vincent. I requested the test just to see results of another shooter and not just my own shooting. It’s not a test to trick anybody,

    Hi Vin , great video, appreciate all you do to help others in there passion for air rifle shooting.I would like to here your Opinion on cleaning the barrel before shooting or not, it seems to be a topic of contention, I personally have no clue with my HW77K all i do know is when i was in the forces in the 70s and 80s is cleaning them every time i used my SLR but i know that being a powder burner it needed cleaning. Just like to here your veiw Vin 👍🏻👍🏻

    • @vincentenglish8489
      @vincentenglish8489  6 месяцев назад +1

      Good topic this and one that I may be different from most. On a new rifle I'll clean the barrel just because it's usually has shipping oils etc etc inside. Once done I'll leave it well alone. Now as regards to powder burners on my Battalion Shooting Team we never touched the barrel, gas parts, we just made sure the internals were well oiled before each shoot. Now I've shot thousands of rounds through my old SA80 without a single stoppage or loss of accuracy, just goes to show you can't believe everything the gun press or RUclips says 😉. Felt really strange at first not cleaning the barrel before or after shooting because as all squaddies know a rifle is supposed to be spotlessly clean. 👍👍👍👍

    Hi Vin
    Nice review I was at my local club a few weeks back and they had a 22 cal for sale minter came with zonos 6-24-44 scope, mounts, nice big tactical bag, sling, 4 tins of HN pellets a bargain at £250 I took the plunge anyway I agree what a beast I swapped the scope for a Hawke sidewinder and pard 007sp sold the konos so cost of gun £200 now I would not carry this around as I’d end up with damaged shoulders lol however I’ve been using it off the tripod on my ratting permission and I find it’s very very good for static hunting the HN 15.89 grain knock em over stone dead and the weight is similar to my RM8 but more shots cos it only cost so little I’m not bothered about a few dings as I would be with my BRK Ghost or Air arms tx200 there’s no way I could do standing shots with this thing either but I genuinely love it the stock has nice grain and the chequering with the ata logo is a nice touch also the filler cap is another good feature that I wish more expensive vendors would provide all in all I’m very happy with this gun.
    Nice review btw

    My Turkish (Reximex Ixia) I replaced the magazine with a 3d printed one from JCE ( Johnny chu Engineering) much softer sprung so doesn’t damage pellets like the original. Agree with what you’re saying 💯 Vin as in a rifle should be fit for purpose no matter the price

      @vincentenglish8489  6 месяцев назад +1

      Too many times we hear "it's good for its price" ... to me that's cart blanche to be sold junk. To me a rifle of any kind is an instrument designed to fire a projectile to hit its intended target, if it can't do that whatever it's price then it's a useless wall hanger. It's about time manufacturers stop fobbing us off with inferior products and make fit for purpose guns that are affordable 👍👍👍

    Honest advice from your opinion, having owned this rifle for the past two months I found it a bit diffrent to what you are saying. Yes its long Yes its not the lightest out there, but wow! mine is very accurate.
    Five shots in a five pence piece at forty meters no problem. What I have found is the barrel needs cleaning out of the box, tends to be a fair amount of protective grease. Also pellet choice is a big thing played around with diffrent sizes and weights and 4.52mm (.177) 10.34 grain JSB Exact to be perfect.
    So I think you "Pays your money and takes your choice" as the saying goes........

    • @vincentenglish8489
      @vincentenglish8489  6 месяцев назад

      Yup agree it's a very accurate rifle indeed, no issues with accuracy whatsoever. I just don't think its a very comfortable rifle to carry around woods and fields. As a bench rifle it's very good and I have no doubt it would be a good hide rifle if it's length isn't an issue. Also the magazines aren't the most robust, but that's not unique to ATA. Thanks kindly for the comment 👍👍👍

    • @vincentenglish8489

      Simple answer to that is due to weight difference, surface area and velocity. A .177 has a smaller surface area and less weight and needs to be travelling around 30% faster than a .22 to achieve 12ftlbs.
