@@darcyliliana4907 🤦🏼♀️ This is the last response I'll make.... I'm obviously not talking about afrobeats from back in the 90s... I'm specifically referring to contemporary afrobeats.... IYKYK... There's also a difference between the components of afrobeat compositions from even 2 decades ago. 🙃 Yes, old-school dancehall has influence from Reggae, but definitely NOT Afrobeats. (Most people in the music industry in Jamaica, never had a clue about afrobeats up to the last 10-13 years.) Old-school dancehall pulled from other Jamaican genres like Ska, Rocksteady and Dub..... but I mean, don't take my word for it, do your own research. 🙂 A good place to start, if you're in Jamaica, would be The Institute of Caribbean Studies & Reggae Studies Unit at The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus. I'm sure they have theses and peer-reviewed research papers that you can peruse to gain more knowledge on the history of Jamaican Popular Music and its industry and the components of musical compositions from the 8 genres that have come from Jamaica. If you take it a step further and take classes or undertake a major offered under the unit, you'll have the opportunity of being lectured by PhD Professors who are heavily involved in the industry... some manage quite a few dancehall artists, including older ones that would've only produced old-school dancehall, and I'm confident they would agree with my statements. 🙃

Hardly any skips, you can hear the blood sweat and tears that went into the lyrics, no slap-dash quick-fix-just because I know they'll listen songs on there. This Album is definitely going to win a GRAMMY next year. CONGRATS in advance 👏 . Am glad a Jamaican woman is making the crossover, cuz the men in dancehall haven't been putting in the type of work and discipline it takes to get to this level.
