Someone once said that this was our WoL's therapy session and I agree. I absolutely adore this CS and consider it as one of my favorites in ShB because it's sad and uplifting at the same time. They showed our vulnerability as the hero who's trying to save the world, that not everything would go according to plan and we had to deal with the fallout, which in this case, was unintentionally caused by us. It made us realize that we're not alone, that we had friends who love and care for us, and would be more than willing to bear that burden so we wouldn't break. Also 26:28 - very good advice from Feo Ul when someone overthinks things and gets overwhelmed (*coughmecough*) with adulting and life. Focus on the now and take things one step at a time.
For once the WoL had someone to lean on. It was very cathartic after all they went through since ARR. It's one of my favorite scenes in FFXIV as a whole!
@@Valdora76 not really, the souls might have originally been one, but after sundering they became entirely different people, aven if they do have some similarities.
9:58 "Why has the light returned to the sky?" Big oof. 21:35 Such a big change from the start and all the "there's only one hero in this room and it's not me." 24:07 Hearing Ardbert call you hero after Emet said farewell by calling you eater was such a moment. Feo dropping those rhymes. Feels almost prophetic. All of the Crystarium is the Exarch's garden, and his people are his flowers. So sweet. "I love power of friendship, man, so much." Thinks of the future. =-)
Oh man.... 😭 I watched the vod more than once...now this clip. I am so into your boths journey...Someday I will do NG+ just because I learnd so much from your thoughts during stream/your thoughts in the deep dives and all your content. Much love goes out to you 💕💕
I hope you guys know just how important you've become to the FFXIV Community! Would love more videos on your deep-dive takes into instanced content, like your dungeon reviews when you talk about the art, direction, style, theme etc... Those are awesome!
Perhaps it's just me that think this but I really don't get the commonly shared notion that it's always the X.3 patch that ends the story of that particular expansion (except Endwalker). The only expansion I felt did that was Heavensward while Stormblood's and Shadowbringers' respective X.0 patches both ended with good closure.
It more that x.1 to x.3 ties up various the loose ends left by x.0, while x.4 onwards starts the buildup to the next expansion. In 4.0 we have liberated Doma and Ala Mhigo, Zenos is "dead" and empire suffered major loss. Great, wonderful ending. But loose threads are Ferdola, Gosetsu and Yotsuyu. We have to deal with how to rebuild after the occupation. From 4.4 to 4.55 the focus has shifted from Stormblood to start building up ShadowBringers. We start to learn about the empire internal state, black rose start mentioning, scions are dropping after getting calls from Graha. The same pattern occurs in ShadowBringers patch content. 5.1 to 5.3 is about the aftermath after Hades defeat, while 5.4 to 5.55 starts the progress towards Endwalker. In short, yes, the main expansions have a fully wonderful ending. My best analogy is that a main expasion is the story of the heros stuggle to defeat the Dragon. Then x.1 to x.3 is short stories about how the hero returns home, helps people rebuild after the dragon defeat and we see how the prince that helped the hero doing the things that a wise king would. Then x.4 to x.55 starts with the rumors of a necromancer in a distant land, cuminating in the major incident that starts the next story where the hero has to go and defeat them.
@@Portiadude Exactly. To say that the X.1 to X.3 tied up loose ends is honestly a much better way to describe to a newcomer how CBU3 treated MSQ updates. The only exception being the Dragonsong war which literally lasted until 3.3 before the entirety of Heavensward got a proper end.
29:20ish: The cutoff denim shorts are from something you can't access till *after* 6.0 Endwalker. And in another aside...how many WoW expansions would it take to hold the amount of lore and content and cutscense you've seen in ShB? I'm thinking at least 3?
Love how they can both be so right and so wrong.❤️💜

My favorite is when you can say "Yes, but no," or "No, but yes."
No, I will not be elaborating.
Oh, gods I'm so waiting for when they get to [Redacted post-5.0 content] and this will hit like Mt. Gulg fell on them.

The scene on the tower with Ardbert and Feo Ul is one of my absolute favorite moments of Shadowbringers.

Though technically it was still themselves they were leaning on 😂

Good morning fellas!
So, about those hundred dollars.
Oh god, you guys must have had such a laugh reviewing this video before posting. Until the emotional points at least.
No, you're not the boss here. You'll know when that is by the music.
I can't wait to see where that $100 goes :)

Great thumbnail 🙂
In the immortal words of Stewie from Family Guy:
Where's my money?
Feo Ul may have known ahead of time what you'd say to that offer... but that doesn't mean it wasn't a genuine one.
We've got Titania. Why not Oberon?
