that atomic clock station on the older radioshack is WWV. more specifically, its WWVB. WWV is a series of time signal stations from not just fort collins, co, but also hawaii. they are one of the most accurate clocks in the planet and can be heard on shortwave radio the one for your radio tho listens to WWVB, which is the same time signal station only it is in the LW (long wave) band, which is below AM frequencies. in other words, the signal can reach out to the entire united states day and night, and lots of atomic clock watches, radios, and clocks themselves receive its signal to match the time so even though you are in florida, you are able to get it. the problem is that because its so low in frequency, it acts like AM, and if you live in a house with a bunch of stuff plugged in, that makes interference which drowns the WWVB signal in RF noise (static) only two ways to fix it, get an external antenna for the radio (if it has a port), and place it on the window to the outside, or just move the radio to a spot away from plugs and electronics, or simply on the windowsill sorry i know its a long comment, but when i heard you mention the atomic clock i had to write my thoughts down lol great vid, hope the advice helps!
Nice collection and that iphone 2g is very taken apart but cool (edit the vector vec438 takes 5v not 9v they came with 9v charger which is overpowering the battery. it should charge with 5v instead also the battery is probably bad I would buy a replacement or get like battery terminal springs to use normal rechargeable AAA batteries
