Just bought the amazon one. For a third of the prize, doesnt look like it's is worth it if you can afford the fat gripz. But for a beginner, it is good for building grip from scratch.
I have the cheap and the original extreme also the cheap ball shappled ones, all is better than using stock grip, the first time i use the cheapo ones i lasted a week with my fingers in pain, i recomend to train forearms for at least 2 months before try any
thanks for the video man solid points! I'm just going to be using these on my dumbells so i think i'll be ok. One day i'll probably upgrade to fat gripz.
@@JaredGenesis444 ironically I found these in my overflow gym gear bin and they're still in good shape. No oxidation or anything. Still going to stay there but I was surprised at the quality of the rubber regardless
so did you ever make it to the gym ? i have both and there's nothing wrong with the amazon ones theyre perfectly fine , just learn how to hold them and use chalk like anyone working grip would
pressed 90+ kg overhead with fat grips extreme and also the basics , perfectly fine no issue , thomas inch style dumbell lift 100 kg basics , no issue , 90 kg extremes no issues either.
I just felt they were too unstable and cheap. I like the firmness of the actual FatGripz. The Amazon basics didn't fit all the way around the bar either. I just found that distracting but I'm OCD about weird stuff.
@@chrisplu84 100% i get that , i just feel you were a little bit harsh on them , as often dumbells in gyms nowadays have 1.5" handles rather than 1" so even the extremes dont fit properly often, theyre not the best for sure but if you literally didnt have that few extra bucks , theyll do the trick untill you can afford something else. i got mine for 5 , i honestly couldnt turn that down , they practically fit in my pocket and i take them to the mall to carry my shopping bags with, im extremely into grip , i get looked at weirdly alot haha.
@@kylefullerton9568yeah for the price it's not a bad deal. I don't know the longevity but I wouldn't repurchase if they didn't last. I actually have them to someone at the gym.
@@bendtherules0 I did not actually. The amount of weight I use, I wasn't confident in them. Would have been an injury waiting to happen or a wasted workout
Thank God I watched this I was about to buy the Amazon ones thinking they were similar!

Where can I get these fatgripz
The Real FatGripz are available from FatGripz.com and from Amazon. They come in light blue as 2" and orange as 3". Sold directly by FatGripz on amazon
I use pool noodles and electrical or athletic tape on all my dumbells
i used to do pool noodles too lol. pvc pipe coverings as well. Stay grinding out there man
God damn it I just bought the cheap ones
It still works fine imo. The only problem is longevity.
It longevity is fine...had em for a year
how long did they last, please give us an update
You bought the "small" version of Amazonbasics grip. So, maybe it's better to compare to its larger version.
Was the only version at the time my dude
Got it 👍. Btw, did u make the follow up video on trying at gym?

I got my real fats when it was none of these fakes back in 17
