"That's right, my voice was this fucking deep in high school" lol
☠️
Mark just flexed on us with his deep voice that he had since highschool.
Oh yeah, this will be a fun podcast to listen to in the dark before I go to bed... oh
8 month later me listening to all of it at the same time on bed because of coffee OD 😬
@@aliabdi2383 8 months later and.. I'm doing the same thing
Dude, for the past two days, right before I get in bed I just lay back and recline my chair with headphones and just close my eyes and listen. Its so unnervingly deep yet relaxing.
Almost 3 years later its still one of the best
28:31 This is the most genuine scream I've ever heard come out of Mark.
Same. I've heard him scream way too many times in his YouTubr career (mostly out of goofy rage), but that was bone-chilling. He's an amazing actor.
I agree. Mark is a amazing actor. When I first listened to this, I had literal goosebumps. And the scream. I was in shock he could scream that genuinely. It was scary. But yeah he's a amazing actor and needs to be in more things.
Even compared to getting over it?
Edit: yeah... I get it now.
@@danivee8572 yeah that scream sounded real scary enough to be real like not his goofy scream as you said
Man i was so invested in the story I didn't even realize... Now that you mention it.goddamn,i almost forgot i was listening to a podcast,it was as if i was living it.mark's acting is criminally too good
That's right, his voice was the fucking deep in highschool
Guys let me tell you that when I zoned out and herd Mark say “Hi Jane!” I almost had a heart attack I though he just appeared in my room 😂
You're lucky 'cause your name was shouted 😂😂👍🏻👍🏻🎉
i’m sorry but the high-pitched voices of the Moobles combined with the main character being named Dave made this feel like an Alvin & The Chipmunks creepypasta😭
The high pitched voices somehow made it even scarier to me for some reason tbh 😭
30:07 Meanwhile marks been playing horror games for the past 10 years on youtube
🤣
28:31 I was listening to it with both earbuds and I almost started crying when mark screamed
Was legit squirming through the entire Moobles section. That was absolutely fucked
Me: is trying to go to bed because I have work tomorrow
Also me: if I sleep i fucking die
27:18 “get ready Dave! (>:D) We’re goin’ in!”
WTF Was that?????
I’m wheezing at that part
@@lilyzito5183 I PRAY that the same recorded audio is used for the live action. I NEED TO SEE IT.
@@victoriafuller3452 YES
Wanted to listen to this again because i couldn't sleep..... I FORGOT HOW TRAUMATIZED I WAS AFTER LISTENING TO THIS EPISODE WHEW
Ngl, they really nailed how crappy horror movies from the 80s and 90s were, with tropes like the alien mother and the alien eggs, the scene where the two main characters wonder at the end "Is it really over?" and the final scene alluding to the aliens still being alive
"When I was 5, I spent 18 months in isolation" how familiar
"What was the worst that could happen?"
*Nervous Chuckling*
God every episode makes me have goosebumps holy shit. 😮😯😔😞
Hot tip for those of you who hate horror movies/gore. No one should make you feel like you have to watch one. Anyone who says "don't be a baby" isn't worth giving the time of day because they don't care about you.
I have vasovagal syncope and morbid OCD. My blood pressure physically drops and I could faint and my brain obsesses about people getting hurt or me hurting them, so horror stuff is very precarious for me. Had this when I was a kid, most people also just thought I was sensitive, but most people weren't mean or pushed the issue. It's not uncommon to have either syncope or otherwise just not want to see gore/horror.
Old comment, new listener, fellow OCD... haver? Sufferer doesn’t feel like the right term.
Mine isn’t as severe as yours I don’t think, but intrusive thoughts tied to my OCD? Anxiety? I used to go through it pretty hard from the age of 12-17. Eventually I went to therapy and was taught a mental technique to help calm things down.
Not sure why I started this comment, but it’s nice to hear similar stories to one’s own life, makes things seem not so small and self contained.
Hopefully the live action show of The Edge of Sleep comes out in the near future, along with season 2 of the podcast!
How is this not at all popular
well for me I'm really wanting to just stop listening because I'm getting tired of the tropes they keep using.I'm not yet half way and I'm waiting for they closet buddy to cause trouble and that's when I'm done with the series.
15:44 "its up to the Captain"
FLASHBACKS HAHAHA
This episode, whew~
"we're pooin' through your veins" i know this is supposed to be serious but this is so friggin funny i dont know why
I'm pretty sure it said "We're pumping through your veins," but I have the volume turned way down so I dunno XD
@@EmotionalSupportBees oh my god I’m an idiot thanks for telling me
@asian nerd glasses Nah, mishearing something doesn't make you an idiot! If it does... well, the other day I misheard "smoking" as "pooping," so I guess we're both idiots!
"Motherhood's a bitch"
Now that is a great tagline hahahaha
“NOOOOOOOOO MY BABIESSSSSS” GOT ME DYINGGGGG
Not the point, but: "That's right, my voice was this fucking deep in high school."
6:58 *that's right*
The Moobles sounds like Alien, but with Gremlins
This show was already weird listening to being named Dave but man, hearing "We're going in Dave!"...
Yo Dave is literally zenitsu
yasss so true
@BUCC A Character from the Anime Demon Slayer

THE MOOBLES SCENE ABT TO GO BONKERS IN THE TV SHOW

This... didn't age well
@@jackfrost8297 yeah :,) I was so sad. I liked the show, but I feel like it skipped over & changed way too much
1:50 he sounds like josh from until dawn.
Rami Malek?
@@otakugirl5512 Yeah!
I laughed when the queen screamed.
Round 27:00 or 28:00 when he's freaking out it seems more like it's schizophrenia than whatever they were claiming it is
The treatment dave went through was called “Sensory Processing/Deprivation Therapy. It was treating a form of parasomnia (abnormal movement, talking, and emotions while asleep) This could be in the form of night terrors, sleepwalking, sleep paralysis, sleep related eds and nightmare disorders.
It’s easy to see how it could be seen as schizophrenia- and maybe is it. but for now with how far i am, we know that it’s a severe form of parasomnia
Yes but this is while he is asleep
The 2 dislikes are people who were too scared to listen to this
Alvin and the Chipmunks be wildin lately
I LOVEDDDDD THIS EPISODE! How come I haven't listened to these before? -3-
In episode 3, they called it Sensory Processing Therapy. In this episode Dave called it Sensory Deprevation Therapy. Which one is it?
Both. Memory plays a weird thing on us.
30:50 TINNITUS WARNING!
It ends at 31:02
Oh also fun fact. The serial killers response of insecurity and fear is a pretty common thing for psychopaths. Given how their brain is wired with empathy center (which simply put is more than one area as it's more complicated than just one) being both reduced in physical size (13 percent grey matter missing in some of the latest research. Same goes for NPD; which is why some theorize that it's maladaptation psychopathy with a genetic propensity.), but also less active, the wiring for self preservation is higher than normal. It's been shown that they care very much, if not more than the average person about their own pain. it's like info that should of extended in a social animal got doubled to the self. They do no like being in pain, betrayed or anything they perceive as a threat and will respond in anger/violence or meek fear to manipulate getting what they want to get out of the danger.
That said, they also have a low functioning level of understanding danger too, they lack/have reduced disgust response and it's one of the few emotions they can't read on others because they don't feel it themselves. This explains why as well that serial killers can do really nasty and objectively dangerous things to their own health.
Last and most important, psychopathy (aspd/sociopathy) persons tend to have below average IQ's. Hannibal Lecter types are very rare and for the most part don't exist. Some are higher functioning, but overall they are impulsive, can't stand being bored and have smaller areas in their brain that should connect to others, but can not.
So good job actually portraying a realistic serial killer psychopath. He was impulsive, seemed relatively normal until you looked deeper, got upset when caught, freaked out when he felt his own self was in danger, making him seem normal, if not more desperate than a regular person.
It's also something a person is born with. I hope in the future they start testing early in childhood to be able to help them earlier, as studies have shown that childhood absolutely makes an impact on if they go serial killer, or just corporate asshole, or person whom you'd never know otherwise.
25:00 to 29:00 is so f*cked up man
Even after a year
This is so amazing, how does it now have more traction on this platform? incredible work everyone. Looking forward to the TV Show
Damn, this podcast got me staying up at night. This is some great stuff!
No pun intended
The moobles nightmare scene is the funniest shit I’ve ever listened to tbh
Scratch everything I just said…
27:18 compared to 28:18 lol
Holy fucking shit
This episode was insane! But also this show is amazing
Everyone wants to love someone your just human truer words never spoken
Damn Dave reminds me of my childhood every time I slept I had a dream of me experiencing death in a verity of ways ah the pitch black void of sleep of now
There's a certain irony to casting Mark as someone who can't watch or play violent/horror movies and games when that's a big staple of his youtube content 🤣
That movie sounds awesome and i wish i could watch it
I like this, but its a bit too... real for me. If I were to do something like this, it would be waaay more mysterious and (if not overtly, then subtly) magical.
Never listen to this before class starts. With headphones
Bad idea.
*Really* bad idea.
Wait why??
OOOOH I CANT WAIT FOR THIS TO BE A MOVIE!
They change a bit of the story..kinda sad because the podcast story more immersing..
Holy shit, that was cruel.
Ok, what is that intro song? I need to know.
I know it’s been 11 months since this gem came out but I am in need to know if there will be a season 2???? Like there are so many lose ends and it left off on a cliffhanger?
Yes
markiplier said in his last video that they're going to canada to make the part2 or season 2 of the edge of sleep
@@filling_theblank They are actually turning it into a tv show, not making a season 2
Update!! A season 2 has been greenlit and is now in production :D

@@corruptedmind690 He was talking about Day 5. It was a show made by Rooster Teeth and it's one of a surprisingly large number of stories that involve dying when you fall asleep. Best part is, falling asleep then dying is right where the similarities begin and, you guessed it, right where they end.
