Maybe the oil sump tube was not long enough for that oil pan was that the right oil sub pick up tube for that pan or was it just a OEM sump oil pick up tube usually when they sell them they sell them together
When you do your rebuild, Don't reuse the oil pump brother, get a new one. Spun bearings will always gal the pump gear and housing. You will know when you get it open.

Either there was no bearing in there (not possible), or the bearing broke apart and shattered and there was enough clearance for it to escape the rod cap. The oil drain had the shattered bearings in it

Dana I had a 08 Honda Odyssey EX-L with 231 miles put the timing belt new it drives like a champ. I sent to take off the 2 cat converter and I have straight pipe sometimes it smokes like 2 times a day and then it be fine and it don't get overheated . Can you please let me know if normal with the Honda
