How to Clean a Maytag® Dishwasher

Need help cleaning your dishwasher? We recommend cleaning your dishwasher every 3-6 months to ensure it performs at its best. Also, be sure to clean the filter once a year or once a week depending on how often you use your dishwasher.
Once you clean out the filter, clear any food or debris that may be loose in the dishwasher. You can pick between cleaning your dishwasher with either dishwasher cleanser or, vinegar and baking soda. If you're using dishwasher cleaner, place one tablet on the bottom of the dishwasher and another in the tray. Run a normal wash cycle and avoid scrubbing with harsh chemicals. If using baking soda and vinegar, pour 2 cups of vinegar into a cup on the lower rack of the dishwasher and run a normal cycle. Once done, sprinkle one cup of baking soda on the bottom of the dishwasher and run on a hot water cycle. Enjoy a clean dishwasher and dishes once done!
