- Thinking how to grow Calathea plant successfully? I must agree that, Calathea is one of the most difficult plants to grow. But, once we know the important requirements, growing them at home is not that difficult. Initially, I was also struggling a lot and I have managed to kill many Calathea plants (sadly). But not anymore! Now all of my plants are happy and growing well. Here in this video I have provide complete detailed info about Calathea plant care. Of course, we can little problems here and there. But, there is nothing to be worried as long as plant is producing new leaves.

Thanks for the upload..my first one didn't do well..died within weeks...the second one however is thriving ..putting up new growth everyday...I just leave it outdoors in my balcony under thr areca palm 🙏...I water using spray nozzle and use seaweed fertilizer👍

I have purchased 4 varieties of calathea 4 days ago .was searching for a video .and here it is .simple snd well explained .will do the repotting in couple of days .

Summer care and winter care for them as it may be a dormant time for them too
Growth season starts from Feb end onwards and it would be better to repot them at that time. Even if you do at this time, they won't grow and if anything bad happens while repotting, they may die too. Very sensitive plants..During dormancy time (winter), nothing much to do. Just keep the soil moist and that's enough. Wish you all the best and Sir is not required actually!

Can I spray npk on calathea leaves ?
I have a purple leaf calathea. When I bought it it has a flower. The flower dry and new leaf didn't come. It's two months now. Older leaves started yellowing. My plant will die? What to do?

Sir calathea plant don't need potting soil mix ?

Sir I am living in Vadodara Gujarat here summer temprature is usually 40-45°c ... Still this soil media work? I m keeping my plant indoor only but as due to high temperature so humidity is also very low.
Sir if we apply basacote than should be give any other fertilizer or spray in between or should be give only after 6 months. Pls confirm. Thanks
Generally not required and Basacote is more than enough and we can apply once in 5-6 days. Same thing I did here..but anyway, I keep on trying new easy methods. So, I would share if something works even more better. Anyway, if you like, you can spray growth promoter something like Super Sonata once in 45 days to 2 months. Thank you and Sir is not required :-)
Is river soil ok?
If you are referring to river sand, definitely we can use it. Good luck!

Stromanthe Triostar - another very difficult to grow plant..No, as of now it's not working..I have been testing many things from 2020. Some plants did well with my potting soil mix that I use for indoor....but still working so that I ca find a perfect soil mix.Main problem is the environment..they are not used to very high temp like India :-(
