    My 88 year old Mom who lives in North East PA was diagnosed with Anaplasmosis last year 2023 in June. Unfortunately, it took a fall and hospilization to find out that's what she had. She had been sleeping in her chair, phone rang, she got up quickly to answer the phone. Drs figure that she passed out falling face 1st onto her kitchen floor. Giving her an awful black eye. She broke her tibial in her sinus. She spent 10 days in the hospital. Thanking God that a doctor in the hospital found out on an MRI that she had anaplasmosis. Blood test also showed it. They treated her with 10 days of Doxycycline. She bounced back well. However, about 3 mths later shes started to have some memory loss at times , seem to be later in day. More when she's tired. She almost seems as though she's lost about 40 yrs in time. Then again she refers things we might forget. Not sure if possible from the concussion. I know she's no spring chicken but I feel its more from fall or anaplasmosis not her age. After shes rested she will later realize she's forgetting or wasn't thinking quite right. Drs said she could have days like that for a long time from the anaplasmosis. We are so thankful to still have her with us. I wish there was more of follow up tests, treatments. My brother is going to seek advice from a naturalist doctor.

    Just got a call 2 days ago from the Department of Health telling me I have anaplasmosis and I’m only on Day 2 of doxy. What a miserable illness! I’ve been having fevers for almost a month, so I’m glad I finally have a diagnosis and treatment.

    A few years ago I went cabin camping Watkins Glen state park with my friend both her & I ended up with Lymes disease from that event. Both of us did not know we were bitten.We both had the classic bulls eye rash, fever, achy, etc. We went to the same urgent care @ different times had different providers & both were treated so differently. My friends doctor ordered the doxycycline told her she probably had Lymes. The provider I saw told me he did not think it was Lymes disease even though I was so sick been camping the week prior & had the classic bullseye. The provider told me he was from the Midwest & there they don't even report the Lymes . I told him that he was working in NY now & I am RN & know it is reportable. He eventually gave me the doxycycline & ordered bloodwork. I went to my primary later & was told I had tested positive for Lymes. My friend went to her doctor where her doctor told her she needed the corpse of the tick to have it analyzed. Bahaha made us laugh. I read some ticks are the size of a poppy seed. My friends bloodwork also was positive. The experience ended camping for us for year. A tick illness is no joke. I am glad you are getting better. Glad you had some good medical people caring for you.

We have had a dog contract anaplasmosis and my daughter had a tick that tested positive (I test ticks that attach on our family just to know what to keep an eye out for) for anaplasmosis and multiple with Lyme. Her doctor wouldn’t treat her just because the tick was positive but just wanted to say it’s definitely in our area! I feel like the doctors really lag when it comes to ticks.

    I'm on week 10 of dealing with Tularemia. I was misdiagnosed for 6 weeks, have been through 4 courses of unbelievably high dosages of antibiotics, and I'm still sick. Now I have either rapid onset Rheumatoid arthritis or Lupus. Possible heart damage and lung damage. We had 6 weeks of Covid in March-April, May was long haul fatigue, then became symptomatic of Tularemia on 12 June. There are less than 200 cases a year in the US, and my medical team is scrambling to try to figure this out. The CDC and Mayo Clinic are involved, but no one knows why I'm resistant to the antibiotics, or why it's still manifesting in different manners. I had a fever of 104-106 for 2 weeks, that they couldn't get down. Of course prior to my diagnosis. It's miserable.

    I got infested in Texas this past spring and was headed to New England for the summer, the whole time there was infested with ticks. In Massachusetts had to fumigate my airstream to control them, they were on me and my two dogs daily. I asked all my friends if they had a problem and they didn’t. When I got back to Arizona I got the dogs tested and they were positive for anaplasmosis. I couldn’t get a doctor to accept it and test me. I’ve had all the symptoms and then some. I need help, been horribly depressed , heart racing etc. what can I do?

    • @Parsnipsandparsimony
      @Parsnipsandparsimony  5 месяцев назад

      I’m surprised you can’t get a doctor to run bloodwork to test you for this. There are non-prescription options to attempting to treat anaplasmosis that you could try. From what I understand, anaplasmosis is a somewhat self-limiting disease that is acute then done. If you’ve been dealing with symptoms for a long period of time, it would think it possibly is Lyme disease rather than anaplasmosis. I would call your state’s Center for Disease Control and tell them about your infestation and ask them where you can get tested and treated. They should take you serious because this is a problem across the US. Keep advocating for yourself. You know your body and if something is wrong. Don’t stop until you have answers.

It tore up my stomach and I had to stop it early for that reason. It gave me a reaction to sunlight for a full year.. that side effect is no joke. If I were you and are still exhibiting cardiac related symptoms, I would check into a cardiac only urgent care. Often they are far more knowledgeable about things like this and can get you seen more quickly. In the meantime, cut out your caffeine which can stress your heart and look into possibly a magnesium supplement. It may help.

    Glad you are doing better. I am allergic to penicillin so I can understand that part it it. Have you found yourself to be allergic to red meat now? Just curious if everybody who gets this becomes allergic to red meat. It is so new to me and I am trying learn. Best wishes in your continued recovery ❤️‍🩹
