Hey Tomo. Just signed up for guitar lessons from one of your prior students. Connections happen. Thanks for all the good content!
Thank you so much for subscribing my Guitar Wisdom! Please write any comments related those lessons at the forum. You're very welcome! Thank you!
Lol, I love the cat .
Slow and steady wins the race. The one string at a time really helps very well. I did the vertical spiderwalk for a month it got my fingers strong and a lot of dexterity. But It did nothing for my ability to play all that much. The horizontal changed everything. Also, i learned kodachrome in E without the capo, so i could stay up by the headstock. The song is very good for going between chords and notes and back. It's pretty easy if you follow tomos videos, but it sounds harder than it is.
OH, and for ear training, I'd play in the pitch black, and I would just hit a note on the low e and then try to match it throughout the neck. Then I'd double-check with a headstock tuner. I'm pretty sure it helped. Idk for sure because i did other things as well? But my tuner died a month ago. I just use a pitch pipe now. Never have to worry about the batteries dying.
Thank you so much! So happy to hear that! Good job!

You're very welcome! So happy to hear! Thank you so much!
Cool guitar - good advice - thank you Tomo!
*I’ve play guitar for 50+ years - everything from country/electric blues, to rock n roll, country, bluegrass, folk blah blah blah - I heard all the music back in the day and just HAD to figure out how the hell to get those sounds - still trying 🤣 - Learned the old “haphazard guitar method” - wearing out records, stealing licks from friends, going to hear music and a few books (Mel Bays study of arpeggios and a Mel Bay study of chords) -
I appreciate how your teaching brings the fundamentals (and beyond) together systematically and musically - the single string approach is eye and ear opening - stuff “I know” but don’t if you know what I mean - Thank you for your time and knowledge - but more so for your passion for music - even with your amazing technique your playing remains “accessible” - not that I can play as well but I can “hear” it - melody, rhythm, dynamics - not just a bunch of gnat notes - thank you again Tomo! Have a great day
“It’s the notes you don’t play” - B.B. King
“You don’t have to be the best one; just be a good ‘un” - Muddy Waters
“Lightnin’ changes, when Lightnin’ wants to” - Lightning Hopkins (more my approach, unfortunately 🤣”)

Thank you so much! You're very welcome! Thank you for sharing! Good job! Still learning from old records! That was Clapton, Page, Hendrix, Beck all did! And a little theory knowledge & proper techniques will help 50% to more! Yes! I love BB King... i have learned so much to play RESTS from BB King!
Thank You for all you do. I am so honoured to have connection with you. May your notes ring clear for many decades to come.
You're very welcome! My pleasure! More fun videos are coming! I just schedule post on my new Ear Training video ... that would be so much fun! You're so special Jack!
@@TomoFujitaMusic Thank you Dear Tomo, you are too kind.
Ear Training is a wonderful thing. I helped a Deaf ( has hearing aides) Dr of Audiology listen for the subtle half tone differences. He now used this technique to help people train their brain how to hear again when they get new hearing aides. Using a guitar.
You're very welcome! Good job Jack! @@Jack.Waters
Thank you for the many interesting lessons and information. Yesterday, for example, I really enjoyed the video on guitar setups "Do Your Own Setups: 8 Tools You Need" (You with StewMac) and the one on triads. I was able to utilize this information very well and correlate it with my acquired knowledge to get more confidence in getting neck angle, fret purity, etc. right myself. Here's a tip from me: with the Korg rack tuner Pitchblack X Pro you can set a more precise mode. This allows you to adjust the fret purity very nicely by comparing the fretted and harmonic tone in the 12th and 19th frets. I also listen to the sound, the rack tuner helps the ear to detect subtle differences more reliably. This works much more correctly than with the TC PolyTune that I used before. With the triads I tried to validated the fret purity. Thank you very much for the great inspiring videos and best regards from Germany.
You're very welcome! My pleasure! Thank you for sharing! That was fun video with tools! Good job! Triads are my absolute tuner!
Thank you so much from Boston USA!
@@TomoFujitaMusicBTW .. lovely cat .. we also had two tomcats, brothers, both black :-) We are close to Düsseldorf / Köln.

Lovely time with dexter & teacher tomo, I'm enjoying watching your video playing guitar and playing with your cat dexter love it! 😃😊🥰☺️❤️🎸🎶🎼😻
So happy to hear that! Thank you so much!
Hi Tomo .. I'm impressed by those Orangewood guitars. A friend's wife asked me to recommend a good beginner guitar that was reasonable price, decent quality and easy to play. I pointed her to an Orangewood nylon string like the one you are playing here.
Thanks for sharing! I love the Orangewood guitars so much! So great for that price point. Great one!
Thank You Tomo and Dexter ❤💜🖤💛💙🤍💯💯💯🎸✌️
You're very welcome! Thank you so much!
Meow, thank you guys for sharing your knowledge ,still learning @60,thanks again!!

Yes! Happy Friday!
Thank you!
Great video! Thank you!
So funny in the end when holding Dexter and he puts his paw up 😂
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much!
Moin Tomo Fujita,
I agree with you and think a good foundation in music theory is very helpfull, thanks for your video,
greetings harry
Glad it was helpful! Thank you so much! I love foundation!
I'm not sure which Tomo loves more, Guiar playing or playing with the cat :)
I love spend my time with my cats!
Hello, I just wanted to say that I came across your channel just a few months ago and now I’m following you and I really enjoy your way of sharing your awesome knowledge of music. Thank you for sharing with us.
So happy to hear that! Thank you so much!
Great video Tomo, I love seeing your personality …and Dexter's :) Thanks for the encouragement to keep going with the foundation work, I am seeing improvement in my fretboard knowledge, keys and intervals. Yes, it's slow going but fun and rewarding, Thank you.
Thanks so much! You're very welcome! Foundation, triads, those are very important! Thank you!
Good information. I’ve been playing on and off but have no understanding. Looking forward to learning from you.
So happy to hear that! Thank you so much!
Thank you Mr.Fujita.
Music theory help us.
(But good songs we can memrise, other we forget easier.😅)
You're very welcome! Great ti hear that!
You know what? I really love this channel. Every time i come here, it's like a light bulb goes on in my head. It's nearly every time. Why can i play most of the entirity of slashs part in the beginning of welcome to the jungle or riff raff? Because it's stationary or vertical. I put almost no work on playing horizontally. It's mainly pentatonic and mostly within the chord I'm playing vertically! I didn't pay any attention to the entire neck like i should have. And if something came too easy, i wouldn't practice it enough. DON'T BE A JESSE!
I think i need someone to play with. I love playing along to songs, but what's the point if you're not sharing it with other ppl?
Anyway, I don't want to over inflate this mans ego and turn him into a monster, lol. I'm constantly telling him how much he's helped me. When i can finally play all the things in my head, I'm going to owe a lot to him!
So happy to hear that! Thank you so much! Thank you for sharing! Good job!
Dexter is so beautiful 🎸🎶
Yes! Thank you so much!
Great lesson! thank you (:
You're very welcome! Thank you so much!
Enjoying the Levitt walk throughs on the Guitar Wisdom site. It's been bucket list thing to finish at least book one. I bought book 1 with an accompanying cd but this is so much better.
So happy to hear that! Many subscribers are enjoying "Sight-reading" section of my Guitar Wisdom Very rare! Most guitar players are not into sight-reading but through the Guitar Method Book, people are gaining a lot of confidence through that work! That makes me so happy! Thank you so much!
They don't know what they're missing. My first job out of high school was a slow store room job. I wasn't into playing cards like the other guys, I went off and gave sight reading a chance. I really think the Levitt exercises are a great warm up rather than noodling. I'm 66 and have been playing to some degree since I was 16 but only the last few years have been really doing the work- triads, etc- and finaly understanding what I'm actually playing and navigating the fretboard so much better. I think it only enhances my creativity and playing. It's too bad so many fall for the misconception about knowledge. " I only want to play like the Ramones, Lou Reed or Ted Nugent. Knowing too much will turn me into Barney Kessell" 🙄😂
Thank you for sharing, The Guitar Method Book. When you practice that book for 10-15 minutes. Very important not play anything not related to that book. This was you will learn how to be patient and respectful on only one topic. No licks, no nodding! That's why I decided to use this book to teach my Guitar Wisdom Subscribers because no one had this experience. So special to me. Son much fun to stay 2 pages duet for 2-3 weeks until you can play those notes so clean and no noises. This technique will make you a better player! I use Barney Kessell solo for testing these foundation techniques. There will never be another you! @@michaelmerrullo2043
What a cute kitty 🐈 he looks like a snuggler
Thank you so much! I love Dexter & Max! They are so lovely!
hey tomo, have you ever considered to stream and interact with people in a chat directly while you talk about guitar and improvise ? it feels like streaming could be a really good fit for you just going with the flow for an hour. Love your content!
Yes. I am thinking that a lot. RUclips Live is good! Thank you so much! I am very active on my Guitar Wisdom Forum. So much fun! Thank you so much!
My wife's cats run away from my guitar.
Everyone's a critic...lol.
😊😊😊
Dexter loves guitars & Max doesn't like any sounds!
He's beautiful. God bless
Thank you so much!
Yesss.... Dex is da best!
Yes! Thank you!
Dexter!
Yes! Thank you!
beeeheheheehehehehehe... i love cats... very good cat and compliments you are a very good guitarist!!! ;)
Thank you very much!
Dexter is cool, he should have his own channel. He looks like a Flame-point Siamese crossed with a Persion. One of the smartest breeds. I think you have a way getting through to knuckle heads. Not great news for guitar players. Tomo you make to much competition too many good guitar players
I love him so much! Flame point Ragdoll cat. Thank you!
Hello Dexter I love animals I have two cats and two dogs
❤️🐱🐱❤️
Hey dude, is the the minor scale an inside out of the major scale, and could you do something on how to make substitution chords? Also your cat needs, needs a good yarnball.
Thanks for sharing
So Tomo Arigato 🤔
Thank you so much!
@TomoFujitaMusic Hey Tomo ! Have you ever had the chance to jam with Pat Metheny ? I'm just curious ! What do you think about his guitar style ? Does the line Wes Montgomery-Pat Metheny speaks to your guitar perspective or not ? Hope you're all good ! Big up from France and thank you for the good work !!
Not yet! Love his playing so much! Traditional jazz first then more open with other styles. In order to do his style you need to work good techniques otherwise you cannot reach those notes!!
Hi Tomo
Hello! Thank you!
❤big cats
Max is bigger!
Is that a flame point siamese kitty? They are the BEST sweet kitty friend you could ever have, cats are awsome but Flame points are amazing and unreal, they hang around 24/7 with you , mine died 3 years ago and i'm still upset lol
Flame point Ragdoll Cat! Thank you so much! Dexter is so sweet! We spend so much together! Thank you for sharing! ❤️❤️❤️
@@TomoFujitaMusic Well so nice to meet you both :) Dexter is a big boy! I love cats and guitars too! :)😸😸😸
Dexter is so cute
Thank you so much! ❤️❤️🐱❤️❤️
I thought I saw a puddy cat. I did, I did.
Flame point Ragdoll Cat! Thank you!
@@TomoFujitaMusic , ragdoll is a fine cat.
you've ever said dont use reverb. Why?
Good reason! I don’t and I do
The engine is running lol
Yes!
Too advanced, I didn’t understand this lesson. Thought it was about ear training? 8 minutes in. That cat is distracting 😊
This is just a hint! More details lessons are coming! Thanks for sharing
SIr Tomo, how much pressure do you use with your right palm when muting strings? I try to be light touch but always end up pressing down too hard. Thank you always sir.
Very little, I always trying to use less pressure! Thank you so much!
