In this video tutorial Sergey Gusev demostrates how to paint a portrait of a girl with blue eyes in oils on canvas using mostly primary colors.
Sergey shows his way of painting a portrait: from the quick sketch with charcoal to the final details.
The idea of this video lesson is to demonstrate that it is possible to make a painting in oils wet in wet with primary colors (no ochre, sienna or umber) using the same basic skills that we use in oil painting with multiple layers. If you want to paint this portrait in oils just follow the lesson and the artist's instructions.
The artist shows his palette and gives instructions throughout the painting process.
Sergey explains that there is a difference between lights and shadows not only in tonal values but also in temperature of the color.

А что помешало тени на левую щеку и носогубную складку потемнее наложить,? Явно на оригинале темнее. Верхнюю губу нужно потоньше и четче очерчивать. В целом не получилось передать умиленное выражение и нежный взгляд , может потому, что быстро делали. Но все же такому мастеру должны быть видны эти неточности.
