Just clarifying a few things for the thread. The speakers are made by Faitel, B&O just do the sound processing and tuning for the cabin. As for aftermarket rings all you need is a Basser Pro 8" adaptor ring, or 6.5". Worthy replacement speakers for stock amp are the Audison Ap8 or any lowish RMS \ high sensitivity 6.5" component with high sensitivity. 90db+ and 100-140RMS rating. Treating the door with dynamat is also well worth it while you have access.
Thanks for the video man, gotta do this repair soon. Found out about a month ago that the front passenger speaker was completely dead and had no sound coming out of it. It's probably been that way for a while, but only bothered to check because the speaker on my driver's side has started to sound weak and like a static type of sound like your bad speaker was doing as well.
Glad the video helped. I lived with the blown speaker for about a year before I got around to fixing it. Weird thing was it fixed itself for a couple of months then it went back to being all crackly.
Ezito improved I know what you’re saying, I love fat bass too. Audi are top end vehicles and they don’t cut corners on anything so even their low end ICE sound great. The Audi B&O system though has the most amazingly clear sound reproduction I’ve ever heard in a car and is up there with anything B&O make for the home. You also get the deepest bass thanks to the built in subwoofer under the floor of the boot/trunk. The door speakers are low mid and drive most of the sound, but there are 19 speakers in total placed around the interior that are aurally tuned to give perfect sound reproduction wherever you sit inside. It is incredible!
I have a rattling sound from my door speaker and I don’t think the speaker is blown, is it possible to just remove the speaker grill and have a look at the speaker without removing the whole door panel?
Omer Mohiuddin Yeah, 2010 A4 Avant. The door card isn’t that bad a job to remove tbh. The worst part is it sounds like it’s breaking when it pops off the clips holding it in but it’s fine.
Hi, thanks for this video. I will have to do the same repair and I have a question: would it be possible to remove the grille from the door panel and get to the speaker that way?
widget_psz Hi, I’m glad you found the video useful! It’s a really easy job but unfortunately the whole door card does need to come off as it’s all one moulded piece of plastic. Good luck!
Thanks Audi!!!, for not making the speaker grill removable for fixes and upgrades. I know that would have been pretty hard to add some clips to the back of it. Edit: Actually they do come off, and for no reason at all, speaker doesn't fit threw hole.
So they do come off ? I have an Audi Q5 2014 with B&O sound system and the rear door speaker rattles and it sounds like some clips broke but I’m scared to try to pull off the grill as it seems intact with the door. Any help?
Hi there is a crackling noise on low volume on mine on music its fine but I could here the crackling on the radio when listening and during Bluetooth phone calls what could it be
Hi, I respect the work you have done. but it is ashamed what the owner of a vehicle pays for a team called B&O, HARMAN KARDON, BURMESTER etc etc. Watching that toy speaker, no matter how good it sounds. I prefer to take it to a car audio installer

What size are front and rear speakers? 6.5?

That was very helpful, I have to do the same but I’ve had trouble finding a replacement speaker
Maybe I was lucky but I found a replacement on eBay straight away.

Omer Mohiuddin Hi, the speaker grille on mine was a moulded part of the door panel so couldn’t be removed separately.
l3db6h do you have an A4? Because I have a 2014 Q5 and wasn’t able to find any videos on it and this was the closest to it

You were able to take the grill off?? I’ve been wondering this for months, do they just snap off?
@@V4vendetta94 Yea, plastic clips, but there is no reason, since they don't fit threw the holes, and you cant get to anything.

That could be your Bluetooth connection. I had that problem. All I did was disconnect and reconnect the Bluetooth to test it.
Could be your speaker foam damaged. Had to use some gasket maker RTV to fix my tears until I upgrade my speakers.
this is a B&O speaker??? it is made of paper and he has no magnet...
Michał K Maybe B&O use field coil speakers in new Audis, I don’t know, but in 2010 they were definitely using magnets.
It's by a OEM manufacturer named Faital. They've been around for decades. Def not a B and I spoke.

Must be a common fault, I am based in the UK and ordered me one from an Audi Dealer £82 new.
go focal 🙂
