Buy a RV and park it in your Driveway during the rebuild if you were impacted. You can use your property utilities for hook ups, and kids are close to school, dogs get a place to stay. It is hard at first, but worth it. Use insurance money to buy it. Sell it later. That is what we did. With a family the only way to go.
Why would you give a payment of $700 to any residents that lived in the Palisades? For what? A studio apartment in the Palisades cost $2,500 - per month. You cannot afford to live in the Palisades if you're not already rich. If you're giving away money, give it to the residents of Altadena. How can the government be so out of touch.

'Design for Disaster' a documentary from 1962 gave warning about building on the hillsides close together, the warning was obviously dismissed and city and state planners carried on as usual, this decision to increase the tax base instead of putting safety first has resulted in the size of this catastrophe.
There is nothing at the bottom of a transmission tower that would start a fire. They have systems that monitor transmission lines and nothing appears to have happened with their equipment . It isn’t impossible that it was arson specifically targeting the company. You assume no SoCal Edison employees lost anything…
