I feel fortunate to be able orbit in both Toby's and Clint's worlds, really fortunate. One interesting tidbit: Clint was playing golf with Toby one day, and Toby asked him his "secret" for staying active in his older years. Clint's response: "Don't let the old man in." Toby was blown away by the thought and subsequently wrote this song. In essence, it was tailor-made for this movie, The Mule, but it speaks to ALL of us as we segue into the time of our lives where we have fewer years ahead of us than behind us. I retired at 60 and an health and safety rep at work told me that people were retiring at 65 with no hobbies nor interests and living, on average, two and a half years.
