At 54...2 things will never get old. The sound of the ball hitting The Monster and the glorious loud roar inside Fenway. It's right up there with the old Garden. Crowd on top of the field, so close to the action. Fenway is amazing.
You're right about the Garden. When the Bruins scored you could feel your bones vibrating.

Got the opportunity to go to this game for my first playoff game as a lifetime Red Sox fan. To see them not only advance at home but walk it off was an insane experience, the entire crowd had been standing on their feet since the 3rd inning. Nothing like playoff baseball

Nothing like playoff baseball, except playoff hockey, playoff basketball and any football game haha jk. Nothing can beat the Sox 04 season but if red Sox pull it off this year might be a close second. Sox won in 2018 and I don't think there are many players from that team left, the entire outfield is gone and half the pitching rotation or more is different. To think two weeks ago soxs seemed done and then swept the nationals and went on a tear, this team loves playing for Alex Cora and he deserves this 100%.
He’s been overlooked and underrated all year, so it doesn’t surprise me that he’s not apart of this highlight, but Garrett Whitlock proved once again why he’s one of the best relievers. He comes in with Arozarena on 2nd, right after they tied the game, have all the momentum, and no outs, and Whitlock shuts them down without allowing another run. Then he does the same thing in the 9th, allowing us to win this game in the bottom of the inning. Go Sox!

Was having this same conversation with someone. JD prob hasn't burned since high school. I think they burned in the 9th with someone they thought could do it better. I don't think if Devers, Bogarts or Keke was up in the 9th in that bunting spot they would have done it.
As a Rays fan, I know that 100 games is impressive, but I am still disappointed about series loss. I hate that we were eliminated in the first round when we had opportunities to win. Congrats to the Red Sox! You guys deserve it.

@Jimmy Hollywood Yes, it's a wimpy sport where you might sprain your ankle running around a base. It's a no contact sport, so of course there are less injuries. There's no reason to play 162 games and have a playoffs that's over in the blink of an eye. Why would I want to see a team that will never make the playoffs, and almost all teams don't. It's totally insane. It's terrible for the fans. For many teams the season is over by the half-way mark. Baseball is a dying sport. It doesn't draw in genuine interest

@@bradmadeira6807 After the comeback against the Yankees, it was the Cardinals they swept in '04. The Rockies sweep was in 2007 (after Sox had 3-1 comeback against the Indians in ALCS).
Also, there have been 3-0 comebacks in the NHL playoffs.

I work at Fenway park since I got outta high school in 2004 man this Red Sox team is the most special besides 2013 championship team remember everyone this was supposed to be a rebuilding year and we are 8wins from a World series championship again plus look at how much we've been through with covid injures ect #GoSox

@2:41 Zack Hample is ridiculous to catch this HR. How is he at the right place at the right time... all of the time? He catches and snags so many balls. Over 11,000 and counting.
totally makes sense when he gets those HRS in right field at yankee stadium here and there, but that fact that he was in the exact seat this was hit to in a full house in straight away center is just insane.
The Rays CHOKED... They play like WS contenders during the regular season and then choke when it matters. The Red Sox are the opposite. They have had plenty of ups and downs throughout the regular season but they have turned it ON in the Postseason. Nobody believed they would get this far. Incredible accomplishment by them.

TBH I see a small pocket of air between Verdugo's hand and 3rd base, I don't think there was conclusive evidence that would overturn anything. Give Kiermaier credit, though, what a throw.
I think the commentator messed that up, but the call seems right as I think the tag gets there before he reaches the base. They don't give you the best angle to judge it in this video, but it looked like the tag made it.

Man, Kiermaier tried all he could...a few nice hits and a great throw to nail Verdugo at 3rd. But he and the Rays go home.
Congrats to the Boston Red Sox. Took out 2 of your division rivals to advance to the ALCS...and yet there was a certain somebody that told me y'all were no threat after the Rays took game 1. Now that person knows -- experience is ALWAYS a threat.
Feels bad for KK, the guy who has been through the hard times with the rays between 2014-2018. He is the face of the team once Longo was traded. He is not an all-star, the only reason he stayed is probably because he is not good enough to be traded away while not bad enough to be released. He may not be a good hitter at the plate but he helped the team through great defense, coming up clutch at times and most importantly play as hustles every single time. Even Longo appreciated that when KK was a rookie. I wish the Rays could keep him as the Brett Gardner type leader, not the stars franchise player like Longo, but a clubhouse leader nonetheless until he retires.
I guess I made a good decision to not predict Tampa to make the WS this year.
I am so proud of our boys all of them and I feel so happy for Cora. No one believed in us we were never supposed to win this but we did. We started from the bottom now we’re here. Go Sox’s!!!!!!

Redsox have such an unfair advantage with the green monster. They can practice hitting off it an defending caroms off it half the year, whereas the visitors have about 12-18 times a year to practice. Make all dimensions identical. How would this unfair advantage play in the NFL, NHL, NBA, MLS or even Chess, FFS? Make ALL dimensions the same, it’s 2021 not 1912.

Red Sox have a great team. Literally the only thing I would to this team is add Jurickson Profar. The team is straight up perfect as every player compliments with the others. Red Sox are one of the teams with the best depth in the whole MLB. Great work by Cora and the managers and coaches.
Incredible theater. This series was all about strategy and roster management. So interesting to see how the plans evolved and shifted in a best of 5. Great games and great performances by both teams. Love October baseball ⚾️ 😍

I was at this game last night and I’ll tell you my voice is gone and my ears are still ringing. Unbelievable series. This team has some juice and there’s a feel here in Boston that I haven’t felt about a team maybe ever. Not because they’re destined to win or because they’re over the top amazing, but because they just keep proving me and everyone else wrong. So damn proud of this group.

Tanner Houck saved Boston's season after Sale's poor start! Eovaldi beating the Yankees was huge in the wild card. The Yankees jumped on Eovaldi just a few days before the wild card game.
Then look at tonight; Kiermaier and Arozarena tie up the game with hits off Brasier, Whitlock comes in and slams the door shut.
