- Hello! Here is my desk vlog with a couple of moments, thoughts and speedpaints of the first inktober days. It's a lot of drawing, talking about art and me being a not so great youtuber so nothing has changed:)

My guess would be this is because she is more focused on being an artist than an entertainer, and I love that.
Aaaw thank you! :D I admire people on youtube that can make an entire video about them talking about a topic and maybe one day I can be that person and then everbody will say "hey remember when klood used to draw...good times"
For me, the word "wisp" can refer to so many things, but they really give me the idea of something delicate, fragile, and otherworldly. Like a wisp of smoke, or will o' the wisps (little spirits that guide you). I think it also helps to write out ideas for drawing :)

Kloodwig, you're the master of ink and patterns, your pictures are always my favourite during inktober! I'm so glad you made some videos again, it's a pleasure for the eye :)

For wisp, I went with a will-o-wisp, a spirit light that leads people off of paths into swamps to their doom. Radio was harder, I ended up doing a picture of a Radio Flyer wagon, which is popular for children in North America, I'm not sure if it is as popular anywhere else. This is my first proper inktober, so I am doing small drawings in ink and watercolour in my sketchbook

Wisp was rlly hard to interprete the way I wanted👀
There are always some weird prompts that I don't know what to do with and wisp was definitely one of them :D

All of your Inktober works inspired me to make my own Inktober art works! The shading and hatching, all of the small details and the art themes/concepts are so mesmerizing. :) Good luck with the other days, and don’t stress yourself out too much. 😊 Can’t wait to see those pieces.
I had the same experience with wisp. Even as a native English speaker I decided to focus on wispy hair

I love your videos and I love your art ! Your lines are honestly something I look up to and you patters/details and ways of shading are such an inspiration. Don't pressure yourself on the video content, just having a few speed paintings here and there and a few sentences is more than enough !!
I was also surprised at the definition of wisp! I used the prompt for Mosstober instead that day. I'm always surprised about the level of detail you end up getting in your finished designs! You seriously get a lot done for each day and your linework always looks so consistent. Inspiration levels are constantly rising! 🔥

Beautiful linework and patterning on the girl’s scarf and the other clothes! Beautiful work! And wow your second piece with the ?milkmaid? maiden is phenomenal! Kudos for aiming so high during INKtober, and it’s ok to pause for a day and get the best work possible! The outcome is what matters 😊😊!

Is it just me, or is Kloodwig's voice UBER relaxing? I could honestly just sit here on the couch all day, watching her draw and talk about anything. She could be reading the ingredient list off a box of cereal and I'd love it! :)

Man. Kloodwig? You are an amazing artist and woman. Not many women actually impress me, but you do. I can think of only to other women that impress me...one from my teenage years, the other one I married. :)

As for your video format...you do you, boo boo (as Super Rae Dizzle is keen to say)! Record when you want, how you want and what you want. We'll all be here to gobble it up when you upload it. :)

PS: Easiest to think of "wisp" like this: "..the thin bit of smoke rising up from a stick of incense". That's a 'wisp' of smoke.

I took a year of from the inktoberchallenge this year xD because I have a whole lot to plan for my pen and paper group, so I decided to instead go with the official prompt list and write a little description of a place in my fantasy world :D But I looove to watch videos of you drawing while I am working on my worldbuilding stuff. I like the black and white of course but have you played around with any coloured inks? It would be cool to see vibrant bits of colour with these patterns ❤️

What kind of cultures do you inspire your drawings off of? It really love the style of clothing and would like to research it ☺️
it looks like some traditional european garb. they differ between regions/countries so I would pick a country, look at theirs and then move west/east to look at how they change throughout europe. for example, i am bulgarian and we have very similar patterns (in traditional garb) to what klood draws and a lot of colorful embroidery, which (i think) are most prominent in eastern europe 🥰🥰🥰
I only know kloodwig uses pinterest quite a lot for inspiration....not sure of culture

I think they are all inspired by asian an European Cultures like Russia her 1st drawing about the wisps reminded me alot about the Russians peoples and i love things about Russia and Asia very much!...

Same, I searched wisp and I had no idea what it was so I went to photos and it seemed like a spirit so I just drew a studio ghibli inspired spirit, lol

Wisps are like a type of fairy like ghost thing that can sometimes either help people out of a forests or something but sometimes they also can make people get lost in the forest at least that is what i saw in the movie BRAVE but is part of Irish folklore or mythologies as well i think i dunno how to explain it.

You’re work is incredibly beautiful! Would you at any point consider giving an insight into how you came to learn how to do patterns and textures like that? But either way, your work is gorgeous, thank you so much for sharing it :)
I think it's a boring case of learning by doing :) I haven't inked a lot prior to last years inktober and as I started getting more and more into it I discovered my love for ink line art and how I can make something look more interesting then it actually is.
Kloodwig thank you so much for responding! And yes, that makes sense- learning by getting into anything new is the best way to go about it :) also, your work is beautifully composed with strong design and often tells these mysterious stories. Every stage of it is great including the final details!
I didn't follow this year's #inktober prompt coz I'm not comfortable with some of the words like yeah the wisp.. But watching your inking makes me itch for detailed inking 🔥👀🔥 Though I did follow #mintober by @Mcmintea so good luck to us 👍😄

i had a bit of a hard time with wisp too! but ended up going with wisps of smoke from a chimney, and i made the smoke into a girl/ghost :)

Do you have any tips on getting more steady hands? I used to have such steady hands and drew intricate detail in my art. I now have stopped drawing for many years and my hands are so unsteady and it's frustrating! I also for some reason have a harder time relaxing in to the details and focus like I used to... Ugh wish I had never stopped drawing ughhh details give me a bit of anxiety now
