In her speech, she said that she went to her mother with her concerns that she wasn't worthy of such an award because other recipients had important positions in life and she was just a musician. Her mother reminded her of the many times people have contacted them with stories about how they were sad and depressed and Pau's music had saved them. Mom was right.
8630 , I did not talk to their mother but I am one of them that I feel like Paulina and her sisters have saved my life. There's a lot of people that don't understand depression and don't really give a hoot, It can be a terrible disease And if you have no one to help you with it it makes it even worse. I don't know how it turned out this way but I feel like the sisters have saved my life, Paulina and her ballads always hit the sweet spot. Start getting emotional before she even starts, I love her to the moon and her sisters. I'm an old fart I'm 72 years old but I still love rock and roll⚡️⚡️⚡️🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽💙💙💙
Pau is an inspiration. She's just a R&R drummer and then they hear her play the piano and sing like an angel. Women astronauts, doctors, and CEO's were in awe.
The significance of this award really deserves more publicity and respect around the world among musicians… How many other rock groups have a member with this under their belts? Thank you for the reaction and publicity
Thank you, Glenn and Adrian. In my opinion, "Black Holes" has the best lyrics that Paulina has written so far, because the topic is difficult and extremely sensitive for many people, and she approached it in a realistic and compassionate way.
That was THREE gut punches in a row! You’re right, Taylor Swift’s solo, piano version of this song was featured on the Eras tour. It’s a devastating song in its own right, and I can’t help but wonder if it has special resonance for Pau as she finds herself more and more enmeshed in the rock star life.
There was actually two winners of the Global Award presented at this conference. The other was a Latina Engineer and Flight Director at NASA…yes, an actual Rocket Scientist! Paulina is keeping some impressive company!
💯 Pau could do a solo piano album & it would be fantastic. It might kill me listening to it 😭 but I’d have it on repeat until it did! (& Dany doing an acoustic guitar album?… instant world peace)
Thanks much guys....saw this way back when it first came out but absolutely love listening to this marvelous young lady who very much deserves the recognition for who she is. All 3 sisters are wonderful role models for a generation. Thanks for sharing this one. Stay well. 😎😎🥰🥰
Pau puts her own emotions into that cover which IMHO is what grabs you. That’s the difference between an artist who covers and one who makes it her own. Her performance of 23 live at Teatro Metrapolitan is an excellent example of an artist emoting while singing beautifully and drumming, mind blowing. Thanks Monica and Luis for putting your wonderful daughters in music emersion at a young age! Viva The Warning!
From the website of "Decididas" (which can be translated as "Determined Women"). “Decididas Global Award” was awarded to women who transcend borders and invite us to dream big. This year it was welcomed by two women who have set standards around the world: Paulina Villarreal, Mexican songwriter, vocalist and drummer of The Warning, who was recently named the best rock drummer in the world; and Diana Trujillo, Colombian aerospace engineer, NASA Flight Director who marked the callsign “Somos Flight.”
@Spidermose, well Pau would need a guitar and Bass player and its clear to see the love between the 3 Sisters, I believe they will always be together, somehow or in someway. IMOP. I Don't think they would ever hurt Each other, that seems😮 obvious. Dany's & Ale could make their own album By themselves, That is If they even wanted to! NO weak Link Here.
I'd seen this when it was originally released, but seeing it again here, it left me with a whole new appreciation for Pau. Not that I didn't appreciate her before, but maybe the first go around I was in a different frame of mind. Don't really know. Thanks guys!
I there is someone in the world to aspire to, it would have to be Pau. Even if you are a bloke. Outstanding piece of personhood! In a room full of "general public", she still gives 100% performance.
Wow, just WOW... Pau can really play your heartstrings... That's why she is my most favorite person in The Warning. BIG Fan, and hell yes to the Pau's Piano solo album. New subscriber here for that. Also, Well deserved award Paulina 🥰👏👏👏👏. ⚡Viva la WARNING⚡ NWSU/FloorFan/Epican/Ayreonaut/TWA 🤘😎🤘.
The songs sounds soo good now that they are older and her voice has matured as compared to when they made the album. I wish they would redo their first album now that they are older it would have an even stronger impact.
What you say, Glenn and Adrian, about Paulina's independent work is not an isolated idea. For example, an Italian punk rocker and RUclipsr once said that Paulina should start a side project to The Warning with her own band, where she would be the frontwoman. It doesn't seem likely to me at all because of how close the Villarreal sisters are and the busy schedule they have. But maybe in 10 years it will be different.
I would Always want These 3 Sisters to be Together, I believe any one of them could make an Album. And Hopefully They will always be there for each other TWAPD...let's hope the 3 sisters will always be together.
She sings the Taylor Swift song, which is a fantastic song, so much better than Taylor does (sorry Taylor)…. I absolutely love this, great piano playing also
Since they’re both on the same label, a Taylor Swift/The Warning collaboration would be interesting. And it’s not all that far-fetched to see her taking TW out on tour. Paramore opened a few shows of the Eras Tour. I’m not a big Taylor fan, but I’d love to see her do a cover of Stalker from Queen Of The Murder Scene.
Paulina and her great brain as Dany has said before .I have wondered for years are these sisters old souls,if there is such a thing .Paulina wrote BlackHoles which continues to be my all time favorite TW song and I have among many memorabilia from this great group of sisters written lyrics from Pau on this insane sing she wrote at 12 or 13 years old .Goosebumps from the second song Show me the Light .To write those lyrics as adults would be great in itself but to write those in their teens insane .Even the Taylor Swift cover was amazing those lyrics really hit the feels and Pau and her beautiful and haunting rasp adds even more to the already great song from TS I hope Taylor saw this and reached out to TW she seems like the type of person that would do that .
I'm sure in later years when she and her sisters will have families and kids, Pau will be a writing poet, a famous film director and a music professor at a university. And she will be releasing music with her sisters every now and then.
She's so PAU-erful that even without her drums she can still brake the speakers 🤘🤘🤘🤘 and to think she's not even the lead singer (at least for most songs) and she's not even the best piano player of the 3 sisters (according to herself, Ale is) . want more Pau? you have to check out (if you haven't already) her cover of "Creep" by Radiohead. ruclips.net/video/A6Y4XpBxjU0/видео.htmlsi=iIEr_5kVTPh4HDi_ It will blow your mind. also "Narcisista", this version ruclips.net/video/O7IAEhN4RMM/видео.htmlsi=Uoj8JW9zIPf80-LB where she's playing the drums

Ooh, that's nicely put! I'm gonna borrow that on occasion! 😉

Still blows my mind that a 14 year old wrote "Black Holes".🤯

Hi Don
Hi Don. Absolutely 💯
This is one thing on Pau's resume that doesn't get enough attention IMHO. Thanks for reacting to this.
She is listed in 100 Powerful Women of Mexico in the Mexican edition of Forbes magazine.
🙌🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🤟🏽🇲🇽❤️
This is the Clark Kent version of Pau…but you know she’s got the giant S and cape on underneath.
In one early video performance she was wearing a Superman t shirt, I was watching it last night.
Siiiiii 😂 Súper Paulina!!!❤

"23" is one of her best songs!
Is it really a cover when the person who wrote it is singing it? 😊

Pau is such a force of nature in many dimensions. Easy to see why she sees herself as a poet if not in music. #UnleashThePau 🔥🤘#NumberlyGarfs
Pau will never be on her own. As long as she has Dany, Ale and her wonderful family and crew-family.

Like Dany Villarreal???

I love watching these solos, hopefully Ale will do something some day. Thank you.
Their dad Luis says she has the better voice of the three she just doesn’t like to sing. Let’s hope she crawls out of that hole one day then look out.
Pau makes you feel what she’s singing every time ⚡️
