    Thank you for breaking down the braiding hair colors, textures, as well as, choices of hair to use that are antibacterial and hypoallergenic. It's important to know exactly what goes into the pricing for braids to get what you want.

    Love your channel! Serious question. Would you recommend soaking the hair regardless of anti itch etc just to be on the safe side and reduce the chemical intake or off gassing? Or is there a brand that doesn't have harsh chemicals? I love my braids but trying to reduce the toxins in life.

    The #27 crochet hair you can look into 27 yellow pack Sensationnel or the 27/30 ruwa 24” could blend better than the Outre #27.

    I know you talked about the 72 inch hair but I’m wondering if you had any issues with it tangling a lot. I used it the other day and found it tangled so much and it took me longer but I was constantly having to run my finger down the braid to detangle it and sometimes I had to cut the knot out. LMK if you have any tips for this issue!

    • @shawne2681

    Hi Ms Vandy. Thanks for the wealth of information. Looking for a professional opinion about grey hair. I'm 55 and absolutely love protective styles, mostly braids, crochet, and twists. I'd like your opinion on color choices for grey roots. My hair is primarily 1B. I'd like to wear my style a little longer but my roots grey after apprx 4weeks. I don't care for dye. What color might I use to camouflage the grey?

    • @VandyVanity
      @VandyVanity  2 года назад +2

      Might as well embrace the grey. 😁 There are a lot of great grey crochet looks. If you want to get braids you’ll be looking at the colors 51 which is a full grey or 60 which is a salt n pepper. Sometime blending the two are a good match as well. I honestly can’t wait to be a silver mama! 😃

    Can you talk about Ruwa hair and why you do or don't like it comparee to Xpressions? I see so many braiders say they only use that brand, so just curious about your thoughts on it. Thanx!

      I have found that ruwa brand has lees hair in each bundles

    • @VandyVanity
      @VandyVanity  2 года назад +1

      I’m not the biggest fan of Ruwa because it doesn’t come in a large range of colors and lengths. It also has kind of a weird waxy texture and doesn’t really come with as much hair in 1 pack. That hair isn’t easily accessible where I am but know cities with larger beauty supplies carry more of it.

    I have just started doing my hair in twist due to thinning. I was told to soak my hair in white vinegar for a few hours, rinse well and let it dry overnight. Is this a good practice?

    • @kyo8905
      @kyo8905 2 года назад +3

      Yep! I use apple cider vinegar and do the same

    • @gensai93
      @gensai93 2 года назад +2

      The reason why people do this is because braiding hair is treated with chemicals that some people have a bad reaction to (itchy scalp), the vinegar rinse actually does help with that.

    • @VandyVanity
      @VandyVanity  2 года назад +7

      Yes vinegar helps remove the alkaline lye from the hair. If you want to skip that step, look for anti-itch or antibacterial hair. I briefly covered this in the video.

    • @VandyVanity
      @VandyVanity  2 года назад +1

      Most legit wholesale vendors will have a MOQ (minimum order quantity) typically $500+/ order. Prices should reflect wholesale at about 50-70% retail. I really like 4uHair Unlimited because it black owned, hair is straight from manufacture and shipping is really fast.

    Just curious if you ever work with real human hair to feed into braids?

    • @VandyVanity
      @VandyVanity  2 года назад +3

      I have and it can be really difficult to find human hair high quality enough or long enough to actually feed in. We typically resort to cutting hair off of tracks.
