I never shop Walmart … cleanliness NOT rewarded by managers.
COSTCO converted a big warehouse about 1 mile south of my local one.
Constantly packed, even after 3 years, as more people “sign-up”
Forced closure of their poorly managed Sam’s Club, and reduced traffic at Walmart.
    - Shop at Target, where they have CLEAN Stores and Up-to-Date “Seasonal section”. -
Their grocery section has outlived 2 local market attempts (Safeway and Kroger).

A couple bad things about Target. They don't have very good selection in Men's clothing. Also, their food section is comparable to Dollar Store or Walgreens quality food. They are best at kitchen/home goods though furniture is easily breakable so not worth buying that stuff. And they have good sections for babies and children.

We always save the freezer section stuff for the last items to go in the cart before check-out.
Freezer burn (thaw, freeze, thaw, freeze) ruins the flavor.
The stock in front is always the oldest and most affected by the opening and closing of the doors so I usually grab the third one back checking the expiration date as I put it in the ‘buggy’.
A couple of questions that I’ve been meaning to ask; does it seem cold in every store and restaurant y’all go into and how does it compare to the indoor temperatures of your buildings at home?
I’m petite and weigh under 100 lbs so I take a light jacket or thin cardigan type of sweater with me when I shop for groceries because by the time I get to the freezer section, I’m chilled to the bone. 😂

I have an electric kettle that I use for specific purposes, but they are not common in the US. I would be curious to know if the UK kettles boil water faster than ours. I'm betting they do since their house (mains) voltage is 220 instead of 110.

I think you'd be more impressed by Walmart or Mall of America. In most stores here you'll notice empty areas which used to always be full. Many stores will hide the emptiness by "facing" the shelves, which means they will pull the products to the front of the shelf, giving the illusion that the shelf is full. It really began with the pandemic and was worsened by supply and shipping issues which have continued since then. Do you have things like that happening at home?

I prefer Wal-Mart or Meijer to Target. At least the Target near us. It's always dirty, the shoe section has shoes strewn all over the floor... just like the Toy section, and they have cashiers that don't pay attention so I always have to go to the service desk to fix their mistakes. I can't think of anything offhand that I can't get at Meijer or Walmart that Target exclusively sells. Prices are better, too. I'm glad you got to visit a Target and mark it off your "When traveling to America" list. :) Sorry, can't help with the Keurig as I can't stand the taste of coffee.

It really must come down to the local managers in each store. I keep seeing comments here about Target is so much cleaner than Walmart, but I kept thinking "WHAT???" In my area the Walmart is so much cleaner and neater than Target, even the Kohl's in my area has become dark and unappealing, and that used to be my favorite store to shop for clothes and home stuff.

Our Targets aren’t that bad. Many people in my area seem to prefer Target over Walmart. This is a good quality smoker at a good price. At least in Texas is a good price. The main thing you want to look for is a high stack to put your brisket in and have a good Pitts area to put your charcoal and wood in. If you're looking to smoke your brisket, which you should, you want to use good hickory or Apple wood chips. Also, it is advisable to soak your wood chips for about 30 minutes before you put it into the pit to ensure a slow smoking process.

I have to disagree! I have had my Pit Boss pellet smoker for almost 8 years now and paid over half of what Traeger goes for. All my friends bought high dollar Traeger's and every single one of them has had problems with their's, I have NEVER had one issue with my Boss. I bought mine at Lowe's when it was on sale and used my military discount also, so ended up at a little over $250. I will also mention, at the time, it was largest they made.
