      Ben Mercer I think a few strongmen including hafthor, as well as Larry wheels as well as all the interesting stuff both juji and Tom do really got people into powerlifting and strongman sports.

    • @AspireWu
      @AspireWu 4 года назад +1

      Ben Mercer huge reason it blew up was because of them. Even when I got to watching strongmen, it was usually because of them. They are even the reason for some of them having RUclips’s, heard Tom helped a lot of them.

    1. 474kg, elephant bar, no suit. 2019
    2. 472kg, elephant bar, no suit. 2018
    3. 460kg, stiff bar, suit. 2017

      Æðöþør Sölþå Eddie used a deadlift bar which has significant flex at 500kg. About an inch less flex than the elephant bar at that weight. In addition Eddie used a suit.
      Thor’s 460kg was on a stiff bar, with very little flex. This was after 4 events in the WSM final. Since then, his deadlift has come up massively

I remember seeing one deadlift 1000 pounds in 2018 and they were only able to deadlift 775 pounds for 5 reps in 2020 😑 that is about a 970 max deadlift. And I know I can’t do that weight, but if a strongman is supposed to be one of the worlds strongest man why must their deadlift go down so much? So it makes me really happy to see Thor getting stronger in the deadlift. Not gonna lie Thor is my favorite strongman.
