Should've said in the video, but the 4wd is nearly a safety requirement on a machine this size. If you lift too much and she lifts the back wheels, you loose your brakes. With 4wd, you still have the front axle to stop you. With 2wd...you're a passenger.
Brave bit of rain up this way, fields flooded in hollows, but not too bad where I am. Have grippy rear tyres on her, but fronts are just standard turfs. Have a set of grippy fronts (Knobbly ones like the rears) just haven't got them fitted yet. Not as fancy as those versa turfs, but fair bit more knobbly than the current ones. Never thought of the 1026 Versa Turf...boyso they'd look the part. Hmmmmmm...🤯🤩😂
@@moweroutdoors iv a pair of the versa turfs on my 740 going up the ramps in the normal turfs in the wet few times i nearly killed myself haha wat i would say is if u did get them put them on the loader mower and have ur standerd tyre on the other in very soft areas they can leave a mark now its not very bad but if ud a odd client where u cut they mite pull you on it
I wonder if that's why the 748 comes with the grippy rear and turf front. Wouldn't really want to be ripping up the lawns. I don't mind the knobly style indents on a mossy lawn, but if she was cutting when turning, yeah, I might get the boot! Tempted to get another cross member made up and put the loader on the 495. It has 3pt hitch and pto, so although its not 4wd, it has higher hours, so could almost keep it to do most of the tractor work. Put a set of more aggressive tyres on the back of it. Meant to ask you previously, have you ever come across any boys using a 1026 to do regular lawn mowing over here? As in, with the std JD belly mower and collector, in residential lawns? (As opposed to the flail collector type of setup).
@@moweroutdoors ya down here in cork kerry tipp and limerick there are lads with a 1026r and the 54 inch deck its not alot bigger than your 758 as i say they use the same tyres id move my 740 to a 1026 but the price of them have gone mad u should look at a 950r second hand new price is nuts in your shoes ur 758 id keep u mite be able to swap ur pto over from the 495 but id keep ur 4wd at pto and rear links change ur 495 to the x950r u could put a rear dech on the 758 for bigger jobs
