    Is it possible to lap the surface with common river rocks? If not, what kind of natural material would you recommend?

      Yes you can use a stone of equal hardness like shown in the video. This jasper does come from a river here in Colorado

    How do these stones compare to arkansas stones?

      West Coast Warriors Archive
      Water stones instead of oil. Very close hardness and fineness to arkansas stones, and these cut faster.
      This jasper can also be used very well with slurry.

    what is the grit..?

      It depends on how it’s dressed! It can be multi grit. Sub 1000 when coarsest prepped, up to 30,000 grit when loaded with steel and smoothed in.
