Pardon me for replying after 5 yrs. Legend has it that the UC map was originally to be integrated into the NFS World map, along with Rockport and Palmont. The urban area in UC is called Palm Harbor, and the UC map as a whole would be the "Bay" part of what was to be called Tri-City, hence the name.
It's not all about racing and completing your career AS FAST AS YOU CAN.... It's about exploring new features of the game (new cars, areas, etc) and enjoying it. Drive around a little bit, it's fun!

This goddamn trailer gave me high hopes, thankfully I was broke when this game came out and didn't get it. I hear good things about Shift, supposedly its what Pro Street should of been so I'll pick it up next week and see.
I also look forward to the cop modes criminal scramble mode for the PC and Nintendo DS, cops n robbers mode which will not only be in online mode but also party play mode for the Wii. It seems EA understands that we also want the power to play as cops instead of just racing against them.
Bayview is a good city, I agree. But Palmont didn't seem to cut it for me. Mainly because they didn't have a large highway system (like in Underground2 and Most Wanted before it)
i finished carbon 9 times and all the times i got all the achievement card things(PS2) and i finished it in 16 hours minimum. i got bored of it and i started playing this. :D best nfs game eeeeveeeeerrr!!!!
im 21 and have played ALL the NFS games. you obviously aint old to remember the older need for speed games on the original playstation (ps1). these games had no tuner cars, and it wasnt until the release of NFS Underground that EA decided to take the franchise in another direction and add the tuners like the nissan skyline and the toyota supra. check on it if you dont believe me...
yes, they have alot of options to make a good game but don't use it, i don't know why the hell they put forums for. forums are intended to help i guess,but i think they use it ass compliments or ignore 'em. and you are right about the gas thing, can't do a donut can't burnout with front wheel drive cars with e-brake on just cheap
well i got the game today. i like it. it has alot of features that are sweet. instead of the whole circut and sprint. you have dominance and this race where you have to stay a certain amount of time in front of your opponent. the driving is like prostreet but in a mostwanted world map. if that makes any sense. cops are harder too. wich is good. got to heat 5 and 6 and got by no problem. level 1 and they bust you. got busted once allready. lol

This Game is well worth the purchase (when I got it on Playstation 3), & I H ave already completed it. I was looking for an open world street racing game, & Need for Speed: Shift did not feel my needs (like Need for Speed: Carbon, & Need for Speed: Undercover did). That is why I did not get it. I will wait for another one.

nfs prostreet was the best theyve done i think, the graphics were absolutely awsome!!! and the game is reeeeally realistic! i didnt get to complete it but i might in the future

If I get this, I hope to find alot of hidden stuff, or something cool or totally insane like the garbage truck in Carbon.
Most of the parts are tken straight from nfs most wanted. Even the bridge you have to jump at the end of most wanted. TIP: If you are ever doing a pursuit and have to get out of it, jump the bridge. Its or the far east side of Sunset Hills.
That is another tight Game, but I did not get it (mostly because I wanted it for the Playstation 3), & played the full Game on Xbox 360, & a Demo on the Playstation 2.
Midnight club is a fun game however the AI is almost impossible. But the cool thing is that you feel really connected to your car its kinda what represents you. With this game is like need for speed hot pursuit times a lot. and the cut scenes are awesome. They are both good games but i think NFS is better

Undercover was not the Best game of the series,BUT Tri-City Bay is the Best Open world of all NFS games
