This was a fun event indeed. Amy's folks and her aunt were in town. We celebrated their 80th birthdays together. The neighbor had an old friend stop by and wanted a cookout. So we offered to cook some chicken and make fresh guacamole. Having Amy's folks meet them was really fun. This was not an easy video to make because it was not planned, and was not filmed in a "controlled" environment like most of our videos. Due to some background music, we had to cut the audio lest face the wrath of RUclips's copywrite policy. Our very first video on RUclips (ABTs) was filmed similarly in that it included our camping friends and was spontaneous (but no background music meant we could capture the sounds). I hope you enjoy it!
Well it looks as though a good time was had by all! And isn't that what being neighbors is all about. So nice that family and friends can mingle so fluidly.
Thank you Tammy. Our neighbors are really fun. The weather cooperated. By the time the cookout started, it was barely warm enough with the sun out. Lots of fun. Glad you enjoyed.
Yay!! That looked so good! You know my favorite thing to cook is a whole chicken, any way. Roasted, barbecued, rotisseried, cut up, fried, any way! The folks put me head of turkey duty this year😳so I don’t know how it’s going to turn out right! Well y’all were eating good in the neighborhood!
Look at it this way Cash. You are probably the only person in your house who KNOWS how to cook, and that's a good thing. It's a huge responsibility, but you will figure it out. Got a meat thermometer? Know whether you will brine or not brine your bird (regardless of what the package says)? Know HOW you're gonna cook it and when it needs to start and all that? We've done a few bird videos. Usually with happy endings, unlike what happens in the Christmas movies.
@@CookingWithCash Even more pressure. I'm sure you'll be fine. Just make sure you keep track of the time and your schedule. Thermopop? Well, as long as it works. And make sure you allow the bird to rest after it's cooked.
Looks like you all had a great time! What are you doing for Thanksgiving? Amy are you going to do a Thanksgiving table scape? Show us the rest of your house. Home tour please.❤️
Thank you Barbara. Thanksgiving? I have no idea. Will let Amy freak out over that. We have to order a turkey before they are all gone. or at least a big chicken. Home tour? Maybe some of that will make it onto our other channel.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed. We had to cut the audio out because the background music is copywrited. This was a tough video to film due to the spontaneous nature. I wasn't planning on filming this. Thus I didn't yell to everyone "Quiet on the set!!!" LOL.
@@Mr.Alia63 Well I was worried the chicken wouldn't get done in time, but it turned out good and the timing was good. Amy was the camera woman and had to manage around various people. But it all turned out good and was fun.
Looks like you both had a wonderful time. Always nice to meet, greet & get to know your neighbors. Congrats to Chef Eric, chickens looked delish! Be well.
These were brined for two hours (that's all the time I had :-( ). The smoker was not consistent, but generally was between 300 and 350 for 90 minutes until I had temps around 170 in the joints in the legs. The biggest thing when cooking meat is to use time/temps as a guide, but all animals are different, even within the same species. Only when the internal temp is food safe is when you should remove it from cooking. The part you liked about this video is what made it so hard to make. We didn't feel like telling our parents to shut up as we are filming. But we did have to mute the audio when the background music was turned on (would be a copyright violation). It was a fun video, but I was more focused on cooking (in a hurry) since I didn't know exactly when my neighbor's friend would be arriving. Hence my morning trip to see him and (likely) why he bought Blue Moon beer when he normally buys Modello, which still would have been great. LOL.
Weber makes them. Should be able to pick up at big box home improvement store. Amy might be able to find additional info for you. I think we made a video using them before. I can try finding it for you.

Everything looks delicious, Eric. Glad you & Amy and the others all had such a good day.
That chicken looked perfect. Yumm. It was so cute when you drove over to the neighbors in your golf cart. lol That's how to do it!
Thank you Calla Lilly. Glad you enjoyed that part. LOL.

It was so much fun! I can't wait until Spring so we can eat outside more often. Thanks for watching, NettaJ!
Good afternoon Amy and Eric. Have a wonderful appetite. Have fun with your neighbours.!!!!!❤❤❤❤I like roasted chicken.
Thank you. It was fun. Gave our parents a chance to get out of the house and meet one of our neighbors.

I love Home Meade Guacamoleeeeeeeeeeeeee! Make it all the time w/ extra Garlic
Yup. My neighbors ate up Amy's guac and left the plain avocados alone.
Please tell us how long and at what temp that chicken was smoked……this was the best video as it wasn’t so studio-like! I enjoyed meeting the parents!
