5 million views of a guy walking in mud and cursing aluminum! Brilliant! Congratulations on your many great finds, knowledge and sharing of history, and excellent channel. Cheers from New Orleans
Nice, did my first detecting sat got a half a copper ring, a quarter,3 munched pennies and lead😂🤣😂😂 and Sunday was dejavue...a quarter, and 3 munched pennies....now hubby wants to move to over there😂🤣😂🤣
Haha 😂 well at least you are finding Debbie!! Keep on hunting and best of luck!
It is a pleasure to watch as always, sir, and some great finds.
Oops! Two Victoria's looking to the right, Glasses may be required! Not quite as giving as the church site, but enough finds to keep me happy! And who's to say what's hidden in thee next hole! Cheers John!
Love the technology addition!
I was telling a family member here in Jacksonville Texas that I watch this cool guy who teaches and detects the most amazing items on RUclips. We both said the Scottish Detectorist almost at the same time. Lol I didn’t even know she watched RUclips!
Blessings, my Scottish Detectorist friend, from this old man in northeast Tennessee. That conical washer thing…is an alien artifact…yep. Brilliant copper coin finds…and another Blessed bit of Scottish history. I truly feel blessed and entertained by your brilliant oratory. Thank you John.
Congrats on 5Million views!!! That’s impressive in only 2 years🎉 👏🏼
It also helps that you are a bit gorgeous 😉
😘😘😂😂
The led plug is a pot fix. They used meltet lead to fix hole in pots. 👍😊
When I thought it was a dog, I figured it was a leash hanger, but maybe it is a hanger for a tippet, Clerical clothing like a scarf. Still I’d like a decorated dog leash hanger. 🥰👍
I remember as a child and I am in my 60's, you finding the half penny of a song.
Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat, please put a penny in the old man's hat, if you haven't got a penny, a half a penny will do, if you haven't any penny, may God bless you.😊
The facial hook is for a curtain rod.
Aha! Thanks Robyn. Much appreciated. You find the weirdest things in fields!!
From the facial part it may have come from a church or abbey etc. Whatever it came from was of a higher status as normally they would be plain.
Oh my gosh I always think in my head "Don't call me Shirley " every time you say surely, and now you said it! That makes me so happy 😅
Big congratulations on the 5,000,000 views and 35,000 subscribers John, couldn't happen to a nicer guy,wel done man, 🏴👍
Congratulations on reaching the huge figure of 5 million views it just proves how good your films are
Thank you for showing the geese, Wow!!!!
I look forward to the first honk heralding the migration of the geese, ours come South out of Canada.
I'm saddened when they leave in April....there are some goose couples that choose to remain to rear their young who are too young to leave.
Great day of finds, especially the odd things found.... Way to go Albert!
I love that sound too .❤from Scotland xxJanieDundee
" don't call me Shirley" Airplane.....what a good day for the crusty ones. I do love the watch winder and bag seal....and as always the history! Thanks from Florida...
Good day John …the bearded face is most certainly a curtain rail hook …nice find , you just don’t get them like that these days …very similar to the Bellarmine / Bartmann jug design ..
I too enjoy the Scotsman pronouncing certain words ..for example Green , and Turner , and Bobby ..all that you use very often …
Nice pleasant change to see a different coin from gorgeous George ..and Long Cross Hammered…even if it is good old Dirty Bertie ..
A nice little bag seal from my home town and, that field looks like it has potential, stick with it pal.
It was good to see Albert out with you even though we've never really seen him and, congratulations on ya 5 million views, you deserve it.
another good day out John with some lovely finds fantastic bring on the next video thanks again cheers
John: "Dirtie Bertie".
Albert: "I'm here!".😅
I love your video's John, and congrats to your awesome finds at the medieval church site.👍 If I found a gold coin along with 5 hammered silver coins I would not have cried....
I would of started hyperventilating and passed out! 💯😆
Awesome, a new hunt and no rain either.
No rain but alas it’s coming tomorrow again 😢
Wow, amazing viewings and subs. I still love watching u detect and hearing your educational insights. Thank you John. X
Albert sure finds the oddest things. Nice to see you having some company, always more fun to share experiences. Hoping Simon makes another appearance soon. Thanks again for putting out a great video.
Another really enjoyable one buddy. I liked the editing of showing what the coin should look like uncrusted. Another 500 subs to boot.! Excellent.!! Bless 👊
Really redefines the idea of a gaggle of geese! That's a lotta birds! Alfred Hitchcock are you having a go at us? lol
Once upon a time I used to renovate antique furniture and the fitting you unearthed with a central dome is, I feel reasonably sure, a device attached to the upper edge of a desk drawer. Underneath the dome was a brass (probably) sphere with a spring underneath. When you closed the drawer the wee sphere compressed the spring as it was pulled in and slid up with a satisfying click into a recess in the upper drawer frame. It only appeared in quality furniture like Waring and Gillow, I'd put the date late Victorian or Edwardian. I used to know the name of these things but have long since forgotten! Much else too...
Variety is the spice of life. The hook with the face is pretty cool. Good on Albert. I live in Chesapeake Bay area. Largest estuary in the United States. I see crazy amounts of water fowl, but I have never seen that many geese in flight at once. Amazing!! Thanks.
That amount of geese, wow. We don't get that down south.....at least not where i am
It was unreal…. The flocks must have been over a mile long …. Incredible. I’ve never seen such a thing before
I wondered why I hadn’t seen so many here in Ga, USA. They’re all over there
You fitting looks remarkably similar to the fitting you mount a rolled window shade into.
Never seen so many geese! Nice variety of finds, a good day out with Albert. 😊 Looking forward to your next dig and tour post.
Much appreciated Maureen!! Best wishes and thanks as ever
Congratulations John! The face looks like a curtain pole support. Excellent video as always, good luck
Awesome John on 5m views well on the subscribers.🎉 Fantastic buddy keep the content coming love watching them 👍
🤗 Another great vid John!!! I love them all no matter what you find!!! THE KING OF U-TUBE!!! Congrats to yo both!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Just want to say thanks for being down-to-earth, personable and abounding in Royal knowledge! Loved all the hammered coins previously and can't wait for your next digging adventure. Blessings!🏴🇺🇲
At 22:41, looks similar to one end of a roll up window blind holder (the end that you insert a rounded axel into). The opposite end would not be round as to hold a spring while unfurling the blind so that the spring can rewind it.
I enjoy your page and all the videos..thanks and best of luck from Maine USA
Much appreciated Tracy. Many thanks
Loving the overlays on the coins!
That hook thing with a face that Albert found was very spooky! Congrats on 35.5k subs which I just noticed!
Thanks for letting us tag along.
Albert and his amazing finds. That sure was a lot of geese. I usually see a lot of cranes, but certainly not that many.
OMG I love the reference to "airplane" movie don't call me Shirley I have a T-shirt that says that and there's very few people that understand.
Cool finds both of you! That face with the hat thing could be a hook for the hat.
I know it might not be your channel's style but have you ever asked the farmers permission to film their reaction? It would light up my day to see them reaction to what treasures were just beneath their feet. Keep up the awesome videos!
Fun hunt as always. The find at 22:30 might be bucket handle fastener. We dig something similar here in middle GA USA fairly often. Awesome channel. Thanks for sharing!!!
I love the way you say “worm”
Thanks for another great video John. Take Care.
Nicely done as usual, I enjoyed the video. 🇺🇸
it looks like a bracket for holding a curtain pole.
The metal bracket with two drilled ears and a small dimple cup - that looks like a bracket for window blinds.
John, I hope your buddy Albert takes that relic with the man's face on it to the museum for identification. That looks really old, maybe Medieval or earlier? Could be something interesting, please let us know what he finds out. 🙂👍❤️
I think there is a new drinking game where every time you say wee bit People drink a shot. LOL Great work Keep it up and thank you for the entertainment
In 1932 the "national Gallery of British art" became the "Tate Gallery". It was named after Henry Tate of the Tate and Lyle Co.
Door ball catch John 👍
Another great video as usual !! You find at 22:10 appears to look like a toggle switch cover.
The fitting with a human face that Albert found is interesting, I've seen ornamental curtain rail supports that had lions heads and similar like that, but not human faces. I think Victorian? But I'm guessing.
New subscriber. I love watching these. Addictive
The object at 6:00 looks a lot like the Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of OZ movie 😂
Very interesting find. Best wishes out there.
Congrats on you success. U deserve something for all the effort and sacrafices you make. I think most of us understand. Hey, ive got a request for you, and u dont have to answer, its nobodys business but yours. What are some of the dufferent arangements you make with land owners regarding the finds. I imagine there many different ones. If i were you i wouldnt become obligated to give any of the finds away to them. The odd one for the kids or somethin is fine. But not obligated. Theres lots of fields in Pershire. You are the one with the leverage. Im aware that hordes must be split with land owner but everyone would be fine with that. Thanks
Your a very engaging person.
Congratulations
Hello from Ohio to both of you and as always thanks for sharing with us all.
Henry Tate was the founder of the Tate Gallery.
And the saga continues. Thoroughly enjoyed this episode.
Wow I’ve never seen that many geese! Glad to see you had a detecting buddy today. Albert’s little find with the face was creepy 😳 wouldn’t want that hanging around my in house 😂
Henry Tate was born in my home town of Chorley, Lancashire and died in London in 1899 I think it was, we have a pup named after him in the town (Sir Henry Tates)
Oh John, I always enjoy your posts. Today it was the perfect antidote to a somewhat crap day. Many thanks for the shots of the hare and geese.
Do you think the bishop is a rope guide for an altar/pew in a church? You are always finding the greatest oddities!
Oh hey, just got done watching the lightbox video from the George V/VI silver coin hoard, and this video pops up! What a day 🎉
A new subscriber here from Wareham MA. USA. I am totally jealous of where you live and detect. Great videos. I have been off detecting for a while, but my best friend recently purchased 2 detectors. Your videos have inspired me to get back out there.
Henry Tate was born in Chorley Lancashire in 1819. The small market town where i live.
A joy to watch as always... I've been going backwards in time with your vlogs, at about 253 ATM. Fab education & entertainment, thank you so much! 👍 Pat
Well you certainly had the brilliant sunshine on you to discover brilliant finds, the way you reel off the dates of past Kings always fascinates me. That was huge field you were in so no doubt loads more good finds to come … and loved that shaggy face item Albert found 😂.
You guys still had a successful outing, coins around 400 yrs old and an odd face on a hanging bracket of some sort, I would be happy. Glad you are enjoying the sunshine. Looking forward to your next outing. Cheers from Texas.
Wow. Geese? Must not be Canada geese. Or maybe. I don't know. Canada geese fly in a V formation. I digress. Back to the dig. 😁
Hi John, the disc with the tag on the side could be a exhaust pipe cover for an early tractor.
The disc would pivot at the inner part of the tag feature, the outer part is a counter balance.
When not running the disc would be at rest covering the pipe, when running the exhaust would blow the cover open.
Great video as always John thanks for sharing keep up the hard work mate some.nice finds between you two lived that man's face in that artefact Albert found and always nice to see a watch winder well saved 👍
Thanks John, nice finds. Liked the mans face that Albert found, it looks like a curtain tieback, but I am just sure. Have a great one, see you next dig!
Im new to metal detecting and ive found a fear amount of stuff that i dont know what it is, now i know one of the items is a cloth seal, it got what it looks to be a knights cross on it with like flowers or weat around it
Another enjoyable video John. Congratulations on 5 million views. Well deserved . You have a fantastic knowledge of history . Keep up the good work looking forward to the next one .happy hunting buddy
Looking forward to this field 👍
Great video John. Your first find looks like some kind of scoop.
Congratulations on 5M views and 35k subscribers. To think, when I first started watching your channel there was only something like 2,500 - 3,000 subscribers. You must be doing something right. Well done 😉👍
Lead item at 8:09 is a pot mend, lead plug to mend a hole in a cooking pot
You have that jammy look on your face again, love it.
im home from hospatil john today i got another blood colt on my heart thats two now lol
Aww no. Get well soon Alan!!
@@thescottishdetectorist thanks john
Wishing you wellness.
@@lovelyskull3483 thankyou so much
👍👍👍👍👏
All your finds look great to me! Been stuck inside due to rain. Always great to see your vids! (50k subs on its way 😊)
You need a minelab pointer, they re atleast 3x more sensitive than that carrot, sorry to say 🤣 may aswell make your digs easier than sitting on the garrett bandwagon and having trouble during digs
Are there fields for the geese to forage on nearby?
Northern California floods the rice fields for ducks and geese during fall and winter.
Watch out for the poop!
Yes lots and lots of barley and oat fields for grazing on but I’ve never seen that many ever!! 🤩
Do they hunt geese in Scotland?
6:00 - Curtains bar holder.
hi john im here 4 mins late
I forgive you Alan! How’s your health?
@@thescottishdetectorist im put up im still alive lol
Congrats on 35.5k & 5mill views!!! Great vid and finds as always. Nice face that Albert found too - wonder what it was?!
I wonder if the mitred face might be a bishop from a medieval chess set.
The face is from a carpet rod for stairs.
Another great video. It's a shame that all the Turner's you find have little or know detail. Happy hunting John.
I know a descendant of the Lyles and her brother (Jules and Tim)
👍🌴⚓😎
😂Darty Barty
😀
John is not allowed to take Albert, sneaky Pete, Martin or 🤡 on his
Dreamfield permission! No chance
He will do that anyway! That would
Be stupid. He wants to enjoy dream
Fields himself very very understandebly! Hard working John
Has earned all the views. Probaly
Not even Mrs John know location
Of dreamfields very wise. Hope
For good weather in rest November.
To deep search in the Roman field
And Bull field😜🔝❤️
Ugly bloke could be for a curtain pole? Right orientation. Great video chap
By the way, I think all the geese we’ve seen flying over here in Cheshire must be heading your way for the big goose convention?! Amazing sight 😍
