Training arcs in Bleach is very different to what you usually get in other animes. Bleach gives little importance to physical training. Mental training is the key here. That means characters get strong based on how much they progress as a person.
What would the point of physical training even be? Most characters in Bleach don't have physical bodies in the first place :D Upping your techniques, connection with your Zanpakuto or spiritual powers is what's gonna make you stronger.

Actually, Ichigo *does* learn some new ways to fight that he adopts after every encounter with his hollow, he just doesn't adopt all of it. His hollow was the one who taught him the black getsuga and, in this episode, he's the first one to fire a getsuga at point blank; which Ichigo then does for the first time in the next fight with Grimmjaw. On a more basic level, the hollow was also the first to swing around Zangetsu by the chain/bandage and then Ichigo does it after first noticing his hollow doing it.

This is why I said it was good writing instead of good Foreshadowing because the major event that this scene sets up never really happened, white inchgo only technically showed up again right before the final fight against Aizen but then he disappear into another character in the same chapter. Inchgo going berserk as a hollow was also not White inchgo showing up again in a important moment and that trend stay true for the rest of the story. Honestly, white inchgo only showed up again in the zanpukto filler arc that most people skipped over but at that point calling that foreshadowing is a big stretch. This was amazing setup episode for white inchgo to show up again but he never really showed up again and that makes this bad foreshadowing. So the main reason Soul Reapers survive such injuries is they have no body (why they need a Gigai in the human world) so the body we see is a manifestation of the soul. Damage to it is damage to the soul, which is why attacks can still be fatal. The stronger the soul the more punishment they can take hence no names always dying but Captain to Lieutenant level characters shrugging off being cut up and impaled.

48:52 he’sa character from the bount “filler arc” y’all skipped because of bad information on what filler is cause in bleach kubo is slightly unique in that he uses his manga to set up anime only arcs so the bount arc actually has canon implications and is referenced in canon but not directly shown in the manga. Mainly because Jump was actually intolerable on deadlines and nitrous for rushing kubo like a slave like they do to other manga creators.
