    We have incredibly complex rules and regulations and licenses and permits for cars and trucks and yet we still have accidents and deaths and burning cars. All these government regulations never stop any of these things. They just take money and freedom from citizens.

    Regulate the cars not the bike. Bikes aren't going to need the jaws of life or a tow truck. Most of the time they are going to injury the rider most of all

    • @marctorres2759
      @marctorres2759 Год назад

      Yeah, but when moronic bikers are at fault, the driver resumes all the responsibility.
      Bikers get to disobey stop signs and red lights, etc. No accountability whatsoever.

    • @Echelon730
      @Echelon730 Год назад +2

      @marctorres2759 you act as if cyclists are not pedestrians as well.
      There are too many cars, and if I am riding I am going to be way more concerned about the 2 tons of metal hitting me than I am about me hitting grandma. Getting roughed up from a bike fall vs FLATTENED by a Ford Escape.
      Make the city more bike centric before you tax them.

    • @marctorres2759
      @marctorres2759 Год назад

      @@Echelon730 Obviously your poorly informed on the matter like most people. Drivers by default assume all responsibility in regards to Motorcycles, Ebikes, bicyclists, and walking pedestrians cause they are all considered pedestrians by law. When a vehicle is involved in an accident with either, the cops investigate to see if criminal charges apply to driver. Best case scenario for the driver, he is cleared of any wrongdoing. Now in regards to the driver and the insurance company go, The drivers insurance will skyrocket, no matter whether driver was at fault or not. And if the driver has a commercial license, it'll go up even more.
      Maybe the driver even gets dropped by the insurance company meaning the driver is now unemployed. Point is the driver is held accountable no matter what, unlike Moronic bicyclist who are at fault Even if not fault of the driver. And that incident remains on drivers record for 3 years. Drivers can receive a premium hike of about 50 to 100%. Bottom line is drivers are accountable as opposed to bicyclist who have absolutely Zero accountability
      That being said, Cars have outnumbered bicyclist through time and memorial. Like everything else in life, if you decide to ride a bike, thats a risk your willing take. I know, I have an escooter myself, and I drive over 8 hours a day so I consider to be pretty knowledgeable of the dangers and risks.

    There are a lot of idiots in New York City who can't follow basic bike laws. When you are biking in NYC, you are inevitably going to come across several cyclists going the wrong way against traffic, trying to play chicken with you. Even a slow crash can have serious injuries- and these e-bikes allow people to go much faster and have longer brake time than what they could do with their own legs. An injury against an e-bike can be more severe than a conventional bike because of how heavy they are. The police usually don't stop cyclists who break laws.

I've been hit once. Hit and run. Cost me $450 for new tire and rim. I see thousands of people texting away and not paying any attention to what's going on. You should be complaining a out that. If driver has TLC insurance, the driver iooking at massive hike or even worse, dropped by the insurance company. He may be out of a job if no other TLC insurance company want to insure the driver. @marctorres2759 lol what nonsense. Drivers are accountable.. you obviously live in a non-major metropolitan area and don't spend much time on the roads. My neighbor hit my car 3 times without saying anything. We are talking white paint all down the side of my silver Infiniti. The 2 times prior, I didn't say anything because there was no proof. He had scratches but none of my paint wore off on his car. The 3rd time it did. I got hit while riding my bicycle by a guy doing an illegal u turn. He turned right into me. He didn't stop. When I was driving my car, a truck tried to merge in my lane on the freeway. I was already all the way to the left. All I could do was go into the wall. He hit me, slowed down with me, then another truck hit him and then that truck took off. So you'll have to forgive me if I don't believe drivers are accountable...

      Then the insurance gets involved and the drivers insurance is definitely going to skyrocket. That's just a fact. Now if the driver successfully fled, thats a totally different scenario. But if he is caught, he is facing consequences. How prosecutors go about that is another story. Your story sounds so retarded and bizarre. Bottom line I'm 100% correct. There just facts.
