'If you want to kiss the sky, better learn how to kneel.
On your knees, boy' - my favourite lines!!! Such a good song!
Definitely one of Bono’s best lines. He’s a great lyricist.
Id forgotten how dirty that bass is. One of their best songs for sure.
Yep, they turned up the distortion on it to sound like a garage band.
Adam is one of the best bass players out there. He always serves the song.
it's extremely unsanitary 😁
One of my favorite bass lines of all time. I love that it basically repeats that same thing over and over. It's just perfect the way it drives the song along.
The next obvious song from this is "Even Better Than The Real Thing"!!
‘The Fly’ from Achtung Baby is incredible. One of U2’s best songs.
The Fly was the song that ended the record-breaking 16 week stay at number 1 for THAT Bryan Adams song. Mysterious Ways was the second single from Achtung Baby and I love it!
The Fly... man.... INCREDIBLE
the best the fly version is from boston live ;)
Please listen to this album from beginning to end offline & I promise you’ll be transported into a surreal musical universe. It’s my favorite album ever.
Big fan of their “Until The End of the World”, The Edge really jams out on this one.
The Edge is my fave! He needs more love. ❤️
Best U2 album ever! Best concert ever,Achtung Baby!! Saratoga raceway, God it was awesome!!
ENVIOUS!!!
That concert was EPIC!!!! I saw it at the Tacoma Dome❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
caught them in Toronto w/ Pop Will Eat Itself opening.
I WAS THERE TOO 🖤
Caught it in Tampa Bay football stadium, EPIC
The Edginess is The Edge 😂 A True Musical Sound Genius. Great Album
There are so many great U2 songs. The rabbit hole is deep.
You could do a U2 movie night with their concert movie. It's called "Rattle and Hum". Epic concert film.
Tickets were like 15 bucks so they could fill the stadium so they could shoot the movie. 2 sold out night's.
1980 something
Most definitely!
A good song for them to react to from that soundtrack is "Desire", with the solid Bo Diddley groove. Also "Love Comes To Town" with the legendary B.B. King.
@@joeyboedeker2047 I was there right at the front of the stage and backstage an epic concert in Mesa Phoenix Arizona
@@joeyboedeker2047 i have a friend who was there -- tix were $5.00 to ensure a sold-out show (which just KILLS ME). It was the end of the Joshua Tree tour, so it was definitely later than 1980. Maybe 1986 or so?
Definitely gotta check out "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me." It's such an awesome U2 song!
I rediscovered that track last year and have been listening to it almost nonstop since
Batman 😁
Yes, that one is really good, it's genius. I think even U2- haters líke that song.
Definitely that song is epic
Another great song from 'Achtung Baby' is "Who's gonna Ride Your Wild Horses."
One of my fav songs of theirs.
the whole album is pretty much joshua tree level 😄
Agreed.
I love "So Cruel" myself. Great track that could have been a single.
YES! So good
A quote from another favorite of yours, Elvis Costello, about US. He said, "I can't believe they write EVERY song about love and pull it off brilliantly ever time!"
Jay/Amber, you'll love their "Two Hearts Beat As One" and "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" !!!
Yes Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking for!!
There are at least a dozen songs they would enjoy from the U2 catalog of songs, but you are right...
@@Wolverines77 they've now reacted to 7 U2 songs, based on what is still on yt
Yes and yes!
@surlechapeau I have found at least 30 of their songs on YT over the last couple of years. Some of them are not the official video's, but still out there...
i saw u2 during this tour and the show was amazing. this is one of my favorite songs on the album.
Adam's bass and Larry's drums mixed with The Edge and Bono has been a winning combination for decades. I saw them when they toured with "The Joshua Tree". Amazing.
Bullet The Blue Sky goes hard. That’s my all time favourite from U2. You need to react to that.
I think that they would really love that song. And then they should do something completely different like Angel of Harlem or Red Hill
They should definitely to the live version from Rattle and Hum as that is the iconic version.
@@kelly9876 I wish they would do Red Hill Mining Town, it seems kind of overlooked, but IMO it has one of the best rock vocals of all time.
Totally agree but has to be live as that is where they make it epic
U2 sings the one of the prettiest songs of all time. It is called “One.”
Such a sick groove in that song.
They already reacted to one
@@MLLPTODOS thanks I’ll look for it.
they also do an amazing job on "All I Want is You"
Mica Paris does an amazing cover 😊
U2 "THE UNFORGETTABLE FIRE" (original video) 🔥🔥🔥
Top track
Yes! I highly endorse this one. A great classic track of theirs!
Top 5 favorite songs of all time for me
this and Pride are my two fave U2 songs
yes one of my fave earlier songs
I jumped when I saw the notification. I know you two like U2, and was curious how you'd like their sound during their experimental stage of their career. The Joshua Tree, and Achtung Baby was peak U2 during the 80's/90’s 😊
I dig U2 from Boy to Zoo Station & some of their newer stuff as well but, in my opinion, Achtung Baby is their finest work. The whole album is absolutely brilliant.
Both of those albums won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album. 1987 and 92 for Achtung Baby I believe.
“All I Want Is You”….is sort of the punctuation point at the end of the phase 1 of their brilliant career…check it out.
and a brilliant video to go with it!
An absolutely GREAT love song with Bono demonstrating his lyrical genius
My absolute favorite U2 song ❤️ saw the original Achtung Baby tour and just saw the Achtung “re-do” at The Sphere in December. Both were phenomenal!
I really don't understand why some people hate u2, with these many awesome songs, it is so baffling
I thought they were cool at this time, and went on the Achtung Baby tour. There’s loads of good music - but Bono is stuck up his own pipe hole. Maybe it’s that.
Omg, LOVE this song, and LOVE allll of Achtung Baby!!! But my favorite song off of that album, and of the entire U2 catalog, is Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses
That’s a great one! I love “One” even more, though 👍💐
You should look up,the ‘kindergarten’ version of that song on RUclips. It’s an alternate take from an earlier version of the song. I like it even better.
Loved U2 since 1980! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
It's funny, none of us in my area in California had ever heard of U2 because they didn't get any air play on the radio. When "Sunday Bloody Sunday" first played on the radio, I waited all night for it to play again so that I could record it on tape and play it for my friends. We all thought this was their first album until we went to buy it at the record store and saw "Boy".
You are just touching the surface with U2.
When you are ready to go deeper, check out:
All I Want is You (make sure to view the official video with the carnival love story)
Trip Though Your Wires (fantastic, gypsy folk vibe)
When Love Comes to Town (AMAZING collaboration with BB King)
Angel of Harlem (Sweet tribute to icon Billie Holliday)
Silver and Gold (Anti-Apartheid track from Sun City album)
Bad (I'd recommend the Live Aid version)
I love Angel of Harlem!
And Red Hill Mining Town from Joshua Tree.
these are cool but dont forget that u2 is also about the FUTURE. also check out Night & Day, Ultraviolet (live), Numb, Lemon, Magnificent, and Miss sarajevo. they are mind crushingly good .
Bono wrote When Love Comes To Town specifically for B.B. King.
You cant listen to "All i want is you" without the transmission into "Where the streets have no name"....just saying
This U2 song is perhaps the finest example of the way Bono uses double meanings in his lyrics. The song is inspired by the Oscar Wilde play Salome about Salome and John the Baptist. Salome dances in "Mysterious Ways" for the head of John the Baptist. Later, the song refers to the Holy Spirit as the nurturer., or the feminine side of God. "She'll be there when you it the ground." As the song is ending, if you listen closely, you can hear the lyrics change to "The Spirit moves in mysterious ways."
Achtung Baby is their best album IMO. Every song is amazing,
Straight up, this is my favorite song by U2!!!!! This is just a straight up banger of a song!!!!!
I suggest “Stuck in a Moment.” When I hear it, I end up singing it for the rest of the day.
Definitely in my top 10 U2 songs- there are so many great songs! 🤘🏻
I was in college and bought this album when it came out. Reminds me of some really fun years!
Same, I remember people opening their dorm room windows and blasting this song out into the quad
'Achtung Baby' got me into U2 back in the early 90s. For me it was their peak, songs like 'The Fly' and 'Even Better Than The Real Thing'.
YOU GUYS HAVE NO IDEA. U2 in the 90’s was considered by many to be peak U2.
Achtung Baby is the album that needs reviewing.
It’s Bono’s first appearance as a more nonchalant character. Less remorse, more edge.
Listen to “The Fly” “Until the end of the world”
My all time favorite is “ultra violet (light my way)”
My favorite song of all their songs!!!
When Love Comes To Town (feat. BB King) should be next. Also Desire is another you'll love. God Pt 11 has an amazing beat
You just scratched the surface. 90s U2 with Achtung Baby and Zooropa is the best music ever. I’d recommend the Fly and Lemon next. Those 2 songs really show U2s range and why they are my favorite bad ever.
They are just so good!
I saw them in concert multiple times. They are just amazing!! Every time I see them , I leave with such a spiritual feeling inside me,it’s just so amazing. It’s like such a natural high.
This is my favorite U2 song. I don't know what it means but to me it is a spiritual song - maybe female spiritual energy - but it is a spiritual song.
Songs about God. Take she out and add God whole album has religious tones and lyrics.
This is a classic banger! My favorite U2 song from the '90s.
Thanks for making me feel so old. This song and The Red Hot Chili Peppers song you reacted to (Under The Bridge) were both released and on the radio in the same year:1991. I saw U2 in concert the next year at the brand new Georgia Dome. They demolished it in 2017. Where have the years gone?
Achtung Baby is my favority U2 album. It was such a different sound for them when it came out that it shocked me and I loved it. My other favs from this album, that you haven't played, are "Even Better Than The Real Thing", "The Fly", and "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses".
There wasn't a bad song on the album.
Thanks for another great reaction video! I love U2! I saw their debut video on MTV way back when and I told my friends that U2 would be the biggest band in the world ever... and I was right!! I knew I should have been in PR.. I love their song "Lemon"!! I saw them on their Zoo TV concert and got to ride on the Zoo TV tour bus!! It was AMAZING!!! I went to Ireland so I could listen to their music in their home country.. and I enjoyed every moment of those 10 days while I was there touring Southern Ireland. Fabulous!
One of my favorite U2 songs, off of one of their best albums.
This song is 🔥!!!!
Achtung Baby was a Masterpiece. 'So Cruel' is one of U2's most underrated songs. Bono's voice and the Lyrics are fantastic
One of my faves from U2! 🙂❤
The best of U2. Can not be still have to move❤
Great reaction! U2 performed the absolute best concert I ever saw. Now take a listen to I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For. One of their very best!
@@Spo-Dee-O-Dee basketball gym? I saw them in a huge football stadium playing in the rain!
u2 - Discotheque is awesomely crazy!
"When Love Comes to Town" U2 with BB King is great!
My favorite U2 album.
ON YOUR KNEES BOY! ~Red
I’m not a U2 fan, but have always liked this song.
Same. There's like three other that I like but, yeah I wouldn't Buy a record from them
So here's an interesting question my son and I were discussing. If you only like 2 or 3 songs from a band with a large catalog but you absolutely love those 2 or 3 songs, can you validly say that you love that band?
@@jerryday813 or can you like a band when you know they are globalist shills ?
And many U2 fans have never liked this song i reckon! It's like they heard Fool's Gold and said we're going to spoil it.
@@jerryday813 Short answer: No.
Long answer: 18 records with 12? songs each. 216 songs, of them I only like three. I have those three in my song list, mixed with other songs that I like. If I'm not in the mood, I skip It.
I love U2? No.
"Achtung Baby" is probably my favorite U2 album. Good stuff!
Excellent song! For your next one, I suggest "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For."
Yeah and then they have to watch "Runaway Bride.". lol
You guys always put a smile on my face!
"They didnt put U2 on everybody's iPhone for no reason..." - that's an instant Like right there!
The dancer became the Edge's wife.😂😂😂
There is a dance mix out there with like 5 different versions of this. Definitely worth having in your library
Was it the dancer from the video of the dancer from the ZooTV tour? Can’t remember if Morleigh was the one in the video too
I think I first heard that fact through 'Pop-up Video'
@@joek7606 It was a dancer from the tour, and not even the original one.
"MISS SARAJEVO" the duet U2 did with Luciano Pavarotti. Absolutely amazing.
This is by far the best groove in a U2 song!! My favorite 🎉
Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me from the Batman Forever soundtrack is another great song by U2 that you guys should check out.
The greatest rock band of the second half of the 1980s into the early 90s - in terms of hits, tours, and global influence. The only band at that time who could hold with them for stadium filling anthemic rock, was R.E.M. (possibly also Bon Jovi). GnR were up there too, but didn't have U2's longevity.
Obviously the Stones were still touring in that time and were also great but they are the greatest rock and roll band!
I don't count here solo artists with a band, like Bruce Springsteen.
I saw U2 in 1984, 1985, 1993, and 1997. Always a fantastic live act. One of the best. And I've seen a lot.
I would go this year but they are doing Wembley Stadium and being over 60 now, I'm kind of done with standing all day in a crowd of 80,000-100,000 (same with AC/DC this year, but have also seen them live various times)
No-one makes better anthemic rock epics than U2.
In recent times they've had a lot of flak, been called old corporate has-beens and past their best. Folks then knock them, but they've done it all in the rock music world, achieved all the highs, and produced a great back catalogue. And still great live I'm told.
Also, despite their haters, they are still a band that tries to do good in the world.
Love this song and Angel of Harlem.
I love she talks about the edginess of the guitar. And who's on guitar, The Edge! Hehe. Great song
Edge's best guitar solos were simple, chord-wise, but he had a way of making them so memorable!
I've seen them live twice here in Sydney - in 2006 and then again in 2019, and they were actually better the 2nd time around!!
The 'Edge'-iness. 😅😊❤
'Beautiful Day'.
The Bond theme. 😂❤
Two Hearts Beat As One by U2, that's a good one to check out!
Johnny, take a dive with your sister in the rain
Let her talk about the things you can't explain
To touch is to heal, to hurt is to steal
If you want to kiss the sky, better learn how to kneel
On your knees, boy
Best verse ever written…
Achtung Baby is one of the best rock albums in history. And the tour... OMG!
It’s a shame you haven’t looked at U2 more. Bono, the Edge, Adam Clayton on bass, and Larry Mullin on drums. Check out “Bullet the Blue Sky” if you’re brave enough.
This was a great album and a complete change in direction after the misguided (but still brilliant in places) Rattle & Hum. The Fly was also on the Achtung Baby album and is my favourite U2 song ever.
love your channel, watch it every day! other u2 songs (of many) to react: Red Hill Mining Town, I Will Follow, Gloria, Two Hearts Beat as One, 40. And so many more! Enjoy 🙂
I Will Follow and Gloria
Definitely one of the greatest U2 songs!!❤❤
"Red Hill Mining Town" - i mean, if y'all haven't done that one yet, it checks all the boxes
Yes
Yesss U2 love them great song Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For is a must listen to Amber/Jay❤️😊🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
I can't believe they haven't reacted to this song yet!
Gotta keep suggesting 😁🇬🇧🇬🇧
Amber, you are so sensitive, you can get so many details and nuances in a short period of time, absolutely amazing!
Also U2 has a SICK BANGING BEAT in this song that overshadows the lyrics of the song. Who ever created the beat deserved a grammy for this.
Please react to U2s hit "Two Hearts Beat As One". Its a really upbeat song & you will love it. One of their earlier hits from the 80s!
U2 were able to evolve their sound and stay relevant in the 90's when so many 80's bands had faded away
Even Better than the Real Thing is pretty sick too!!!
As a GenX we all grew up together! This has been my favorite band for 40+ years. So glad you are exploring their music!! Great video, as usual!
When a band is as prolifically awesome as U2, it's sometimes hard to keep track of all their great songs. This is one that, if someone had asked me to name my favorite U2 songs, I would probably have forgotten to mention, but as soon as I'm reminded of it, I say, "oh yeah, I love that song!" Great reaction, you two. 🙂
You're also right that Bono is just a wonderful human being. I don't remember if I commented on this when you reacted to the Corrs, but he recorded a track with them called "When the Stars Go Blue" that is just beautiful. Gorgeous harmonies...I know you would love it. 🙂
24 in 91. What a great year in music this was. Back from the Gulf. And having too much fun in life. Thank you for the reaction you two. Very much appreciated.
one of my alltime fav´s from U2.... ♥ the cool bass & drum
U2 are amazing, it’s almost as if they have been playing together since High School. ✌️
Achtung Baby is my favorite U2 album. It's of there best. Every song on it is a masterpiece.
This era for them was very transformative…I still recommend anything from rattle and hum.
It is hard not to think of early 90s MTV when hearing this song. U2 had some off the coolest music videos.
This song was extremely popular in topless bars in this time.
I would say “can confirm, but I don’t dare to.
Fun fact. The Edge, U2’s guitarist, married the belly dancer who appeared in the Mysterious Ways video. They were married in 1992.
Probably my favorite U2 song.
If you want emotion in Bono’s vocal you can’t go past A sort of homecoming from the Wide awake in America EP. Amazing song and poetic lyrics which ends in such a beautiful place.
First time I saw U2 and glimpse Bono, his hair then caught my attention, it reminded me of someone I knew. Been a fan ever since, love all their music.
Yep, totally mysterious. That reaction left a smile on my face. Man I grew up with these guys man I remember the first couple albums for sure. And I wish you if you have not already Check Out Boy and war. You would understand where they came from but this album came out and it was like four or five albums later, but I had a roommate that like was really enamored of it and the more I heard it the more I liked it and this was one of my favorite songs from it. And of course I like all the latest stuff like you're talking about as well and I've seen them in concert three times. But anyway that was fun.
Love this song. One of their best for sure along with “One” and “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me”
❤❤Great reaction to one of my top 3 bands of all time. Their live concerts are awesome. Bono is also a Swiftie and every time she tours in Ireland he sends her roses and a special note.❤❤
You should try 'Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me'. U2 did it for the soundtrack of one of the Batman films, and it's a belter.
You two are awesome. Very positive and excellent reactions. "Mysterious Ways" from the "Achtung Baby" album was the first of many hits off that LP. I had the pleasure of seeing their "Achtung Baby" show at the Sphere in Vegas in December and it was an amazing show!
Y'all should watch the old U2 performance at Red Rocks..their early stuff is easily as powerful as this one (which I love). I have the import single of "Eleven O'clock, Tick Tock", and that live performance version (it was their tour promoting the "War" album) is better. "It's cold outside..it gets so hot in here. And the boys and girls collide to the music in my ear.."
EDIT: Amber's right, Jae. New chair. Digging her Janis t-shirt as well!
Yes, and Gloria from Red Rocks, too. Bounce back to the young U2
Some good songs from them in 90s. Discotheque, Bad, Last Night On Eath & What If God Will Send His Angels are worth a listen.
