Great video, thank you for it. I’m super green when it comes to radios and you answered most of all questions I had with where to start and what to purchase. Curious, why you chose this over the rugged M1 package?
Admittedly I was more naive at the time. I am not sure if I saw that Rugged has their own channels for use at the time. Additionally, I didn't really understand what programming meant. I was afraid I would get just the hardware that didn't function without "programming". I was wrong, but that's why I went with PCI. They programmed in house while Rugged seems like they don't.
That's VHF Radio Right? I assume that you don't have an Amateur Radio License. The only 5 VHF frequencies that you can legally use without an individual license is MURS. Rugged Radio had some run ins with the FCC on using frequencies that are not allocated for off roaders. I would be very careful using those frequencies without fully understanding . If were you, I would stick with MURS 1 through 5. Do your homework before going on road.
Dont worry about the fcc. They have more important things to do
Go with a kenwood 3720 with built in Bluetooth. You can pair a headset for hands free use

Sir,please tell me,which one frequency use for the mobile listening conversation, vhf or uhf?
GET A NMO MOUNT FOR YOUR ANTENNA, ITS THE BEST WAY TO INSTALL A MOBILE ANTENNA AND ALSO A BETTER GROUND THAN THAT MAGMOUNT.
What frequency are you transmitting on?
So what.. the pre program your channels or frequencies? Real nice radio.
yeah i think programmed means they name preset frequencies for you.
@@NSQGarage ok. I was confused for a second cuz any ham radio can be programmed for way cheaper. But this set up is plug and play
@@gmeister03 yeah if i did it again, i might have got something that wasn't pre programmed. but you don't know what you don't know, right?
@@NSQGarage that’s how my radio experience has been. Lol
