What is going on in the world these days is truly disturbing, and so are some of the comments I have read through just now. Some I have responded to, most not. I despair for the human race. Having been raised as a Christian, the so-called sanctimonious, intolerant ones annoy me the most. They may know the bible chapter and verse but have no understanding of what it is all about. One of my great uncles was a minister with the United Church. I only met him a couple of times, as he didn't live close by, but my father new him well. I don't recall much of the conversation I had with my father one day, but he told me that his uncle explained the teachings this way: the bible is a guidebook for how to live your life and get along with other people. I think that pretty much sums it all up. This belief was further brought home to me on another day, in 1967. I was at Expo, in Montreal, looking down on a wide swath of people coming towards and past the little hill I was on. People from all over the world, every colour, every language, all moving together, some coming, some going. No fighting, arguing or violence. No pushing or shoving. As a child, I marveled at the beauty of it all! How I long for those days. Was the world at peace, then? No, it wasn't. But in that beautiful oasis, I visited Russia, the UK, the US, Czechoslovakia, Japan, and a host of other countries, and all were at peace, all got along. Why is it that some people think they have the right to force others to believe as they do, to think as they do? Whatever happened to the old adage of "When in Rome, do as the Romans do"? I am a Torah observant Jew. GD gifted His Chosen children, the Jews, with the Torah and Israel. The majority of His children don't observe His Torah and gave away a portion of His gifted holy land to our enemies. He spells out His blessings and curses in Deuteronomy. What I learned from this is that GD is patient. Of course the goyem, the remainder of most of the world, worship idols like Jesus and therefore do not adhere to the Noahide Laws GD gave them which forbids worshipping a man. What is going on in the world these days is truly disturbing, and so are some of the comments I have read through just now. Some I have responded to, most not. I despair for the human race. Having been raised as a Christian, the so-called sanctimonious, intolerant ones annoy me the most. They may know the bible chapter and verse but have no understanding of what it is all about. One of my great uncles was a minister with the United Church. I only met him a couple of times, as he didn't live close by, but my father new him well. I don't recall much of the conversation I had with my father one day, but he told me that his uncle explained the teachings this way: the bible is a guidebook for how to live your life and get along with other people. I think that pretty much sums it all up. This belief was further brought home to me on another day, in 1967. I was at Expo, in Montreal, looking down on a wide swath of people coming towards and past the little hill I was on. People from all over the world, every colour, every language, all moving together, some coming, some going. No fighting, arguing or violence. No pushing or shoving. As a child, I marveled at the beauty of it all! How I long for those days. Was the world at peace, then? No, it wasn't. But in that beautiful oasis, I visited Russia, the UK, the US, Czechoslovakia, Japan, and a host of other countries, and all were at peace, all got along. Why is it that some people think they have the right to force others to believe as they do, to think as they do? Whatever happened to the old adage of "When in Rome, do as the Romans do"? Now, it seems to be "Think exactly like I do, or else". Why are there so many wrong-headed people out there? Where did they come from? Why are they so easily brainwashed by others whose sole intent is to cause harm? Can they not think for themselves? Do they have no analytical skills at all? I will tell you this - I am all too aware of what is happening. Israel have demonstrated time and again their commitment for peace, but to no avail. Just last year the Israeli PM addressed the UN, showing support for the two state solution. Since Hamas inception in 1987, they have categorically rejected the notion of a two state solution.
1947 - UN proposal partition plan, accepted by Israel but would have meant Israel giving up huge swathes of their territory was rejected by the Arabs .
Oslo Accords - designed to establish a partnership and to create Palestinian self governance through the creation of the Palestinian Authority and over time, pave the way for peace.. however, Hamas opposed Oslo and supported Israel's destruction.
2000 - Camp David . Significant territorial concessions offered, including the establishment of the Palestinian State in West Bank and Gaza Strip with EastJerusalem as it's Capital. Yassar Arrafat refused the offer. The second intifada followed.
2005 - Gaza disengagement. Israel withdrew from Gaza, .
2007 - Annapolis Agreement. The goal was , yet again to establish a Palestinian State. Hamas called for all Parties to boycott the conference.
You are ignorant about the thrust of Islamism which is what is behind the opposition to Israel's existence, and is now at war in every western Christian country with Christianity. Israel/ Palestine is in the hot spotlight , but wherever you are you too are targeted ( or participating in it) and no amount of rearranging borders or anything else will stop the onward march of Islam. This is a replay of many waves of Muslim colonialism.

The term antisemitism has been worn out and seen as a victimhood mentality. Whoa is me ! With so many different sects of Judaism having notorious reputations, people are incensed when hearing the word Jew. As it is now, Israels' population is made up of mostly atheists and agnostics, with a lesser percentage of orthodox and muslim and the smallest percent is christian. Many cannot even validate their ethnicity or lineage, because Judaism with its many sects has been an adopted religion by others over the centuries. Much like and anglo saxon catholic converting to the Muslim faith. In my estimation Judaism is simply an outward religion based on traditions. I have always loved the Jewish people and supported Isael. I'm in my early 70's now. When I became a disciple of Jesus 37 years ago, and read the Bible for the first time, my love and admiration for the Jews only increased. I realized that they are Gods' chosen people, through whom He brought His word, and our Messiah, Jesus. But I also received the revelation that because they are Gods' covenant people, our enemy, Satan, will do anything he can to destroy them. For the first time, I understood why there is so much anti-Semitism in the world. It's not natural. It's demonic. Since October 7th, it's really hit home. It's mind-boggling to me, that the world has not acknowledged the miracle of the re-birth of Israel, as prophesied by Ezekiel and other prophets, but instead has manifested its hatred for Israel and the Jewish people. Again, it's demonic. Satan has blinded the world, so that most people cannot see what God is doing with Israel and why the Jewish people are so special. I pray daily for Israel and the Jewish people, and I call on all Christians and Jews alike to do the same.
