  • November 7, 1990 - Drafted 26th overall by the two-time defending champion Detroit Pistons, 6-foot-4 rookie guard Lance Blanks was the subject of an opening night profile by local Detroit sportscaster Jim Berk.
    Blanks appeared in 81 games over two seasons with the Pistons, placed firmly behind one of the best backcourt combinations in NBA history (Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars) for the duration of his stay. Blanks went on to play one season with the Minnesota Timberwolves then one season in the CBA before embarking on an international career in Hungary and Cyprus.
    Following his playing career, Blanks served as the general manager of the Phoenix Suns between 2010 and 2013 following assistant managing and scouting positions in San Antonio and Cleveland.
