'Losing The Plot', features a year in the life of Annadale Allotments in South Belfast. Established more than 80 years ago, there are now more than 80 plots on the site. The main focus for this three-part series is the tight-knit community the plot holders have created in this urban oasis. These enthusiastic growers battled one of the wettest summers in recent decades with determination and great humour, proving in these hard economic times that 'growing your own' is not only healthy and invigorating but also fantastic fun! Many find the place very therapeutic and a release from stressful jobs. Some from rural backgrounds simply enjoy the opportunity to get their hands into the soil again.
Filming began in August 2007 and concluded in September 2008, covering social events throughout the year, including a very competitive Autumn Harvest Fair, a cosy Christmas party and the colourful annual flower show in Botanic Gardens.
