    Great review Mark! I rode my 2022 FC 350 for the first time on Saturday and like you I was very surprised by the power. I expected all rev and no torque but definitely not the case. But when you want to rev her or don’t feel like shifting it’s awesome and the handling is very confidence inspiring!! Coming off a 2021 KX 450 that I can honestly say was to much for me at times I also don’t ride multiple days a week it’s the perfect bike for me. 52 years old, 175lbs vet rider. Also I forgot to mention they did away with the baffle they always had in the muffler it just has a spark arrester in the end. Enjoy your new ride!

      @@markswartmx56 Same here I will try the vented air box cover next ride and see if I notice a difference. I know the suspension takes a few hours to break in so I’m running about 142lbs in the forks right now and it feels pretty good. The shock works great with stock settings and 105mm of sag so far. Looking forward to your next review to see what you think. 👍🏻

    I agree with you 100% on suspension. When it’s working good you don’t notice anything. I have a 18’ fc450 and I always play with the front. But the rear. I have the SDI bladder, 3w, 5.4 spring and mild shim work. I never notice the rear now. It just works. But the front. Always something. Excellent review. 👍🏻

    I have the race tech gold valve set up in my 2020 ktm450 sxf, with air fork. Honestly, I felt like the race tech setup is a hit or miss with WP suspension depending the track. With stock suspension, I never noticed the bike having a rugged feeling like people say they feel on Ktm/husky stock suspension,. Didn't matter if I were on prepped or hardpacked like concrete, always felt like a sponge. But after having the gold valve set up, on hard packed not prepped, I now know what people say when they say the stock suspension feels rugged.

      Man I can't wait -- as of 6/8 today I'm at 1.7 hours. I dropped the pressure slightly from standard (152ish) but both tracks I've ridden on so far were hard baked so you feel every little thing. Hoping to ride the ClubMX public track this weekend, I will go back to stock pressure and that will give me a feel for how they perform in different conditions. I still haven't touched the shock... I haven't noticed anything I even would want to change with it. Really good!

    OK Mark ima tell you straight up.
    Firstly you should be on a 250
    Leave your damn clutch alone in the corners.
    Roll the revs on smoothly from mid corner.
    By corner exit you should be wide open.
    Weight that outside peg. Get your inside leg up by the radiator shroud and do NOT look directly in front on the wheel.

    • @markswartmx56
      @markswartmx56  3 года назад

      You bring up some fair points and actually those are all things I am working on. I usually ride alone and without a spotter or coach it's difficult to dial these things in. I do use the clutch too much, but also keep in mind this was a very tight and loose track. If you watch my other videos I think you would see it isn't that bad on other tracks. I was intentionally not revving the bike that day as it was in the break in period. I actually considered a 250 but I don't see any downsides to the extra top end of the 350, especially when you factor in that I will be starting against 450s often. Thanks for the input.

    Good review Mark. I've got a '21 YZ250f but I'm considering a new fc350. I'm 51yrs 6'2" and 180, and not even a year back into the sport after not riding for decades! I'm wondering if the 350 would be an easier bike to ride than my YZ250f? I like the fact that its lowered too. Sounds like I'd give you more confidence for cornering and jumping?

    • @markswartmx56
      @markswartmx56  3 года назад +1

      I think that 250F is probably fine for your weight, and the Yamahas have a lot of low/mid for a 250F. I had the '17 YZ250F and where I didn't get along with that bike was in the handling department, I lost the front end a lot. But I believe the Yamaha chassis also works well for taller people, I'm 5'8. Power-wise the 350 feels a lot like my YZ 250F but with maybe a hair more bottom and then a nuclear over-rev. So I feel like the 350 isn't going to get you that much grunt over what you have, just a lot more power on top end. But I love the Austrian handling as opposed to the aluminum frame bikes. More intuitive and forgiving in my opinion.

    • @SteveKiziak
      @SteveKiziak 3 года назад +2

    What Made you choose the Husky 350 over the KTM, I know they are 98% the same bike, just curious on your reason. Trying to decide what I should buy, I am currently on a '16 Kim 350. But like the idea of the slightly lower seat height.

    • @markswartmx56
      @markswartmx56  3 года назад +1

      I was actually going to go orange, but the Husky dealer could match the price I was getting on the KTM and had one on the floor while KTM was still on order. I liked the idea of the lower suspension for better turning too, although I’d say it’s a very subtle difference, nothing night or day.
