Bought one fully rebuilt for $700 and the guy nearly cried having to sell it that cheap, love this beast for cutting outback Australia hardwood fence posts.

I bought my 371xp in 1998 (thereabouts) and with moderate use over all of these years it still looks great and runs like a top. I often take it completely apart (but not the engine of coarse), and thoroughly clean it inside and out with fresh paint thinner and an old 2'' paint brush with every few sharpenings of the chain to prevent too much build up of bar oil and wood chips inside. Keeps it running cooler and smoother I think.

I like that its all original, a lot of times I see the original parts replaced by 372 parts! Good looking saw! Sounds good too, you will have to put it in something bigger for us when you get the chance!
If the recoil uses dogs on the flywheel and are engaged by the pulley then you pull the chord out because the flywheel dogs when it slows down can re-engage the starter pulley if there are retractable dogs in the recoil, like an old Fairbanks Morse or the newer Stihl recoils then its not necessary because the teeth are in the recoil and when not pulling are tucked away so as the flywheel slows down there is no way they can contact the starter pulley anymore. I plan to do a video on this to explain it.

Some guys talk a lot of shit about them but I love mine. I had to rebuild the whole thing when I got it so it's like a new saw but I like it more than a 372xp Xtorq.
