Sound fun 😁🖖🖖
I could listen to that guy talk swords all day
I love when he says it is a Copy!!
Absolutely, same here brother
@Judas Iscariot lol 🤣
@Judas Iscariot yeah i would polish his sword than polishing your short kitchen knife
Japanese swords are the best!
I’m trying not to happy cry since I’m seeing beautiful artwork
Who woulda thought ancient weapons could be so collected
Katana is the best sword in the world
Short, imbalanced, brittle sidearms with grossly-overblown worth and status, made from shards of impure iron in dirt. Rich people buy em and display them right next to their multi-million dollar paintings consisting of a single line across canvas so they can say "and this here is my massa moon samurai katana sword, said to cut twenty armoured men clear in half with a single motion."
Other than Rebecca and the Museum guy, this guy is one of the you would "trust"
You can't forget Craig in the Guns Department
Craig and the guy from IMA.
David vagi is very humble and honest
Can’t agarre anymore , REBECCA , MARK THE BEARD OF KNOWLEDGE, and this japanese appraisers are LEGIT. I THINK THE REST OF THE GUYS HAVE A PERCENTAGE GOING THERE WAY EVERY TIME THEY SHANK SOMEONES ITEM ,,,,

Cringed when he just grabbed the sword out of his hand as Mike was respectfully presenting it to him.
Rick just cares about 💰, that’s it!!😂
ZephrusPrime at 4.01 yea rick has no manners😂😒that's so disrespectful 😑
How is he supposed to grap it lol 😂
It would've been disrespectful in America to Not grip it as fast or else it shows weakness. :P So ergo its all in the eyes of the beholder now
They're not respectable warriors they own a pawn shop lol
4:01 the way Rick takes the sword is so disrespectful.
we are sorry Master Mike.
huh? snowflake
@@Cyther0 Apparently you don´t know the difference between respect, honour and snowflakes sir.

I know.
@@Cyther0 Tradition and etiquette are for "snowflakes" I see. Stay classy.
did u notice how he game him the cutting edge? in the past he did the opposite to his son, is he saying he doesnt trust him?.
I like Mike because not only does he exude a quiet confidence that adds weight to what he saying, but he’s also very respectful when handling swords or dealing with customers.
I wish he had his own YT channel where he talked about certain swords of projects he was working on. I’d subscribe in a heartbeat.
I’d love him to discuss and read samurai history, would 10/10 sub
4:05 he grabs the sword like a brute, treat the sword with some respect and grab it properly.
Just appreciate how much respect Mike has for those samurai. Whenever he want to touch every single ne of it he always ask permission to the owner. That's a real japanese you got there.
not just does he ask permission , he bows to the sword before and after to show respect
@@Makaveli13Xroy agree

Proper respect for someone else's blade is a corner stone of Bushido .

@william blackstock nothing on netflix australia at the moment
Netflix needs to Update the seasons for SURE!!
is it me or do I just really love the look of Japanese swords
@@Passion_Ctrl and you need a Oxford dictionary in your life
EOBARD RAM “A Oxford”? You do too apparently.
rick has a basic formula, asks people what they want for the item, hears the prices, calls his expert and tells them the price the person wants and rick tells them to lowball them on the appraisal
Zander Haskins yea pretty much 😅I wonder how many generation of con men were in his fam b4 him😂and if he needs help he just uses the Ouija 👻
He owns a business. What idiot is going to buy something at full price and try to sell it what it's worth??
There’s a reason he’s a successful business man and you’re commenting on RUclips videos lol
Don’t worry, the show is mostly scripted. A lot of the so-called “customers” are actually friends or employees posing as customers
@shafta99 I live here too sounds about right
Every reaction when he removes the handle is priceless😂
i love how the expert ask for permission before he inspects the katanas.
he bows to them beforehand aswel ;)
Thank you for making a comment. I hope I am not disrespectful by replying to your comment. I bow very low to you and the honor of your famliy.

Wow.. Rick is sooo DISRESPECTFUL when he took the sword of the dude's hands. Pretty low move there Rick
"May I take a look at your sword?" Really isn't something that you'd want to hear in the men's bathroom......
This guy is one of my favourite experts on the show. I could watch videos like these all day long.
The way Rick took out the blade just made me cringe so hard anyone else?
4:02
Lorenco Sinop yup
He just payed thousands for a polish and is already scratching it up...
Yeah, dude has no idea whatsoever how to unsheath a katana...
Wouldn’t be surprised if Chum immediately grabbed the Katana and started swinging it at people in the shop
Merry Christmas
at 4:01 note how dishonorably Rick takes the sword from the Japanese appraiser.
Hey, they already posted this in Pawn Stars.
Chi chan 👀
Are u bot just saw reply on another video
John John same here, scary
Stfu! Already!
Respect this JAPANESE man , Mike.
There is no footage of the sword cutting through a barrel. Mythbusters even did this. It's all BS.
Randy Japanese non sense.
The only person a WW2 Japanese soldier killed with his katana was himself
@@him050 The Tanto was used for Seppuku much more commonly than the Katana, so no. There have also been plenty of account of officers killing with swords during WW2.
@@hussydahustla Much of the myths that come from Japanese swords originate from Hollywood. So you could say Hollywood BS.
ShizukaShizuka! It’s just a saying sweetheart, chill out.
mike is so genuine I love him
Watching him take out the newly polished sword like that was awful.
surely the appraiser would have told him how to do it without scratching the blade?
Anyone look at this coming from Forged in Fire?
Traffic Police: Rick you are parked in a wrong place. 100$ fine for that
Rick: all i can do is 1$ and i am taking a big risk here.
Reupload 999999x
Rick I’ll give you 10 bucks I’m taking a risk
LOL
😂😂😂 none of you caught that😂😂😂 He switched at least1 of those swords with a less valuable sword(last sword in video).. He changed the century on it once restored😂😂 he kept that 15th century sword because 12th century to 15th century was the golden era of Samurai. 16th to mid 19th century was tainted with firearms hitting the scene in abundance..
That sword "allegedly" was made by a swordsmith early to mid 1500s a teacher of the great sword makers for centuries to come. This is during the time of Yusuke the Black Samarai, Noganoba , 47 ronin origins..all the good stories happened then!! And these dudes made the swords. All the great sword makers after where assistant pimps to these dudes. He identified the sword maker as this dude...meaning he wasn't alive next century if he made swords early and mid 15th century.. Restoring it doesn't change that..the name is the name!
4:01 nothing like ruining a restored sword like drawing it from the side lol
Mike Yamasaki is the type of guy who looks like he could've been a respected master at anything.
A Katana cut through a barrel of a machine gun? Come on history channel.
0:06 Cory: "Oh that looks awesome man" immediately pans to a sword with a fake hamon.
LOL
One of the best appraisers :-)
Mike deserves his own show.
Does anyone know where the footage of the katana cutting through the barrel of the machine gun is can anyone link it
The barrel of the machine gun was overheated and quenched over and over due to the charging japanese, so that when they arrived, the sword managed to snap the barrel with ease. It has often been used as 'proof' of the magic of katanas, but it wasn't magic at all.
As king of the weeaboo clan, I approve of his katana collection
same tbh
Rick and Corey..feliz navidad... that means "Merry Christmas you filthy animals" -Kevin
there is no such word as katanas. it is katana. you either have 1 katana or a million katana. never katanas. no s on the end.
Those katanas are katanas. English evolves, unlike you.
wrong. the word is not in english. you have one ninja or a team of 400 ninja. never ninjas. never samurais. i should know i am the only person on youtube in usa who is on horseback in real samurai armor training in the mountainous on youtube.
THANK you for sharing. It drives me crazy when people say Katanas or Ninjas, etc
thanks. i am the only guy in usa on youtube who is in real samurai armor on horseback in the mountains in vids. i trained 6 years bujinkan. many years other martial arts and japanese bujutsu. i have one of the best home dojos in usa for samurai and ninja. many armors etc. i have 200 vids out of my 960 vids that are ninja and samurai. blinding powders. every weapon. water stealth on lakes on volcanos. i live in the mountains. and very same type mountains you find in iga japan. waterfalls. rivers. lakes. glaciers. doing ninja and samurai vids. fighting others. some i teach. mountainous dojo. check me out. thanks
@@MOUNTAINOUS Shall do, very nice from what I just skimmed over. I am proud that many westerners appreciate Japanese culture :)
No possible way that a katana no matter how good can cut through a machine gun barrel. No way. The cooling shroud, possibly.
Cant katanas cut through paper in mid air
@@mcwaff8661 Any decent blade can to be fair

its like to talk about Samurais to a bunch of rocks
I have asked the plants, but they do not remember. The plants have asked the rocks, but the rocks do not recall..... EVEN the rocks... do not recall.
he grabbed that sword from him like he was grabbing a beer, good grief
Rick:”The best I can do is the best I can do what do you want from me I’m only human!”

i am sorry the one where the guy said a sword cut thru a barrel, this tells me he knows nothing about swords....
No not really, it's how you hold the sword, your stance and form, the force you apply plus the angle. The Japanese have their forms unlike the west. Have you seen any western sword users in the past who has a stance for when they were fighting? The English? Do they have footwork or forms while handling it?

These whitw guys aint worried about history they just want to know how much
The only way a katana would cut through a machine gun barrel is if the gun was fired till the barrel was red hot and at the right moment was hit with the sword.
“That was slick” lol at the awkward silence
Mike has got to be the most refined human being on the planet
I'm curious - there are several online shops based in Japan that sell "authentic" traditionally made Nihonto that come from various time periods. These products include NBTHK Hozon certificates of authenticity from the Prefecture stating both the age and the name of the swordsmith. The prices from 5k - to upwards of 20k $ depending on the sword... uhmmm why on earth are those so cheaply priced if (as mentioned in this video) the swords could sell for 50K to millions? I'm not one to believe any rando website - but these guys (samuraimuseum. jp) look legit. So what's to stop anyone from purchasing a 5k katana from them and selling it 5 - 7 times higher in the US?
Best expert Rick has, makes history really fun
That was slick😂old lady tryin hit on sword guy😉👵😹
Jesus's crown of thorns
The guy walks in: "Everything I own is the real deal!"
Expert: "I say its worth around $80 Million in today's market!"
Rick: "Most I can do is 10 Gran, You got to understand I'm taking a big risk, I got to make some profit off this!"
This dude soft spoken and with so much respect
It's worth less if you restore it...unless the Pawn Shop does it. Then it's worth $20,000 more.
Can't imagine how a samurai would feel letting these pawn boys touch their sword of honor
They're probaly rolling their graves , these filthy baka gaijin barbarians touching thier katanas
Heads would roll for sure.
I like how he says good stuff but in the end it's a fake 😂
The puzzling link prudently knot because rat physically pull plus a sedate secure. scandalous, grubby gruesome respect
Legit surprised people think this sword expert is so knowledgeable when he literally spouted the nonsense that honorabru samurai sword cut theough machine gun barrel. You kidding me???? Anyone with a solid understanding of how nihonto and physics works would know that katana literally get chipped cutting through thick heavy bamboo, let alone steel. I couldn't beleive what I heard.
One of the "Legit" experts of this show.
I would never trust an appriser that says his sword cut through a machine gun barrel lol
Hi💓
Is that type 98 shin gunto, ww2 Japapanese military sword ?
where is the video of katana cutting through machine gun? don't believe it...
The steel isn't that good. That's why it is folded so many times. To get the impurities out, which makes the steel loose carbon, which has to be put back. I'd take modem powdered steels through hardened rather than tamahagane.
mike should have his channel , and strip everyone that trying sell forgery replica fake chinese katana . only genuine for and from him .
"May I take a look at your sword?" Said no woman to me ever!
Japanese, Indian ancient warriors and their people lived by the code which is hard for Western world to understand.
First comment
when ever the japanese guy handed them a sword,he always give them with two hands and with respect like the tradition which he even mention in this show to them but this guys just keep taking them like with one hand and act like what he informed them about how to handed a samurai sword is nothing. They were showing no respect to the japanese tradition and its very hard to watch. Its like spitting on the japanese tradition and very ignorant to me.When someone come with a stupid coin they were like so delicated with it putting on a board or something like that but got no respect on the japanese way of handing a sword. Its very hard to watch sometimes.
Every time Chum Lee opens that useless hole under his nose, I feel my IQ crying out as part of it dies.

If he is such a sword expert he should know that story of a katana cutting through a machine gun barrel is pure BS!
It's just impossible. Anyone who argued that point get a katana & a gun barrel & try.
Omg I just done it x
Every time he traditionally tries to hand them the sword they ugly snatch it right from his hands with no respect..
