The best part of Rebirth is that everyone is always in your party. Whoever has lines for the situation just steps forward when needed. I think this is why all the dialogue feels like actual conversations. The writer makes the NPC talk to Barret specifically without having to account for you bringing someone else.
Poor Aerith, I've always loved her since I was a child and I never understood why there were people who didn't like her. She is so special and never had a chance to have a normal life and be free to live how she wants.
That scene at the fire with Aerith is amazing, as is seeing Cloud be so warm when comforting her! You made a great point as well about the parallels with Cloud's Junon speech, I'd never thought of it that way.

When you walk up to the seminar, you missed a pretty crazy bit of dialogue. After the guy talking about his mean dad, a lady explains a theory about the lifestream where the Planet can't tell the difference between Dreams/Hopes and Memories. As far as it's concerned, both are equally real, and so somewhere in the lifestream both exist. She believes she'll meet her parents if she can find a way to travel there. Kinda fits better with all of Sephiroth's explanation of the various worlds.
