the thing that I’ve noticed with polly pocket is that the originals had very basic exteriors, they were usually always one solid colour in a variety of shapes, but when you opened them they were just so extremely detailed and pretty. they made use of every little thing and hardly ever left bits uncoloured. whereas with the modern ones it’s the opposite. the exteriors on them are pretty and detailed but when you open them there’s almost nothing there. maybe I’m just a very harsh critic.. but I guess because I have such a passion for the originals and how cool they were, it just makes me sad that the new ones are so lacking. to me it feels like the company just doesn’t care anymore. they made the party time surprise 30th anniversary set so they’ve clearly shown that they can make them how they used to be, they’re just choosing not to 😔😔 also I feel bad for k because I can kinda hear the disappointment in her voice :(
I agree with you and this has been my critique with new Pollies since I started my channel. Companies are more focused on quantity rather than quality. ☹
So I bought this one a month ago-ish..and it took me forever to find that second compartment in the top of the popcorn too! I was like.. WHERE ARE THE DOLLS!?!? LOL. Agree with you totally on the cardboard aspects of it. It's cool looking which is why I added it to my collection too, but I play and spend more time with my other Pollys over this one. Lots of fun little toys with this one though!
I'm a bigger fan of the vintage polly pockets but I swear they get more expensive by the day, I have a theory that in 10 years vintage polly pockets will be unaffordable
Not sure if it fits your aesthetic, but I've recently started buying Mighty Max compacts for my son who has an obsession with his sisters Polly Pockets and Shopkins Lil Secrets
Hello Kerchie. I love watching your videos. The new Polly Pocket is cute but the Polly Pocket from the 80s and 90s by Bluebird are much more detailed and much more beautiful. I bought some new Polly Pockets compact, but I prefer the vintage Polly. Manoela - Rio de Janeiro - Brazil. By bye. =)
Hi Kerchie, thanks so much for another great video 💓 they are so beautifully made, and your collection is amazing. I have a nostalgic weak spot for Polly Pockets, and while not a collector myself, I think it's a really lovely hobby and it's so fun to see the vintage PP sets again (and live vicariously through your collection haha.) Also videos on the new PP sets are soooo helpful in deciding whether to buy one for a (currently) Polly Pocket obsessed child. Just being able to see them in detail is enough. Glad I didn't buy this one, would have been a bit disappointed in the cardboard overlay. It just seems a weird step backwards for the new PP sets. Also it would last about 2.5 seconds in the hands of a kid, if their mums didn't accidentally throw it away first thinking it was packaging 😂
Glad you find my videos helpful! I always love meeting a new Polly Pocket fan 😄 I got loads more to showcase but lately I've been obsessed with other compact toys and dolls. I just love way too many toys! I think one day Mattel will cave and bring vintage Pollies back.
I agree with you on this review. I can't say that I like this set, because there is so much they could have done to an actual polly pocket theatre compact (or un box it). There are a lot of empty spaces they could use and add more detailed pop up compartments instead of putting a colouring section, and make it more interesting. I don't hate it, because it looks cute on the outside, and the ring ornaments are nicely done, but that's just about it. The playability just isn't there or not enough, there's nothing much to do. I'd know that if I get this for my nieces, they'd be bored of it in 10 minutes. The idea is there, the execution though, not so much. And I am not being biased because I love the vintage Polly, but this, for $20 (times 4 for us) just isn't really worth it. The popcorn remind me a bit of scrambled eggs lol, and your nails are gorgeous! Sometimes I just watch your videos for your nails. XD
Now I can't unsee the scrambled eggs 🤣 also someone pointed out you can prop your phone in the theater section so you can watch as if you're actually in the theater and wow how did I miss that! 🤦🏻♀️ Regardless, I don't think it's worth $20.
Hello Kerchie, the number on the ticket was 06241989. I wonder if that is to commemorate Polly’s birthday or when the first compact ever was released. I love little details like that in company packaging.
Kerchie! My girl! What a unique new playset we have here. This lovely unboxing video of yours is what I needed after feeling disgusted and repulsed at some chick known as “PlaymateTessi” making some horrible remarks against autistic people. Thank you dearly! 💚
@@Kerchie I never want to be autistic again! And I also never want to be British again because of people like Piers Morgan saying that Meghan Markle’s suicidal thoughts are fake!
The problem with having a toy line with some cardboard you rip, and some cardboard you’re supposed to keep, is that kids are just going to rip into it, thinking that the cardboard is supposed to be pulled away. 😢
You missed that the screen is a phone holder. So a kid can make a phone the screen, which is pretty cool. My 7 year old daughter thinks this looks really great.
@@Kerchie Really? :O Wow that's so cool. 😸 Remember how messy people would be? And remember doing theater checks were the best part because you got to see a snipet of the movie lol! And then remember sometimes customers at the box office lol. 😹
Yes, yes, and yes lol the best part was getting movie snippets and getting to take leftover popcorn home. Working at a movie theater is how I actually got my nickname Kerchie 😅
Hi Kerchie Thank you for this video. I love the necklace but the playset doesn't convince me. I dont know. I definitely like more the hard case compact toys. "My englisch 🙈" . So little happens there. I hope you know what i mean 😂 but i don't only look the videos because of the toys. You make me happy 🤗 and the melody reminds me of "Hänschen klein" a german childrens song 😀 I have a question to you. In what country do you live? That i have a better idea. Best wishes from germany 💜
@@Kerchie I’m so glad you said that.., I have a thing about mixing my pieces up hehehe 😁 My love of organizing is satiated with these micro mini toys ♥️
@@Kerchie too funny! After watching this I had googled “edible Polly Pocket clothes” and it pulled up SO many stories of people who remember being obsessed with chewing on them. I had and played with those when I was a youngen, I just never knew that was a thing. Thanks for your response! I love your videos, you’re amazing! 💞
Thank you for sharing, maybe the number on ticket is the date when the first polly pocket came out...? I know the first line of polly pockets came out in 1989, tried to look it up but could not find it 🧐
Bise :*

Your nails look amazing! You should be a hand model❤️I love your reviews and it gives me the choice to see if it’s worth or not getting. Thanks

Another cute PlaySet i love It 🥰
When you said “popcorn is my favorite food” it’s mine too
Popcorn gang!
I love you're videos, i cant wait for the next one ❤
I have this One, I can make very funny videos with this movie theater set it’s actually a really good set!
So cute. I love it and i'm the biggest fan of Kerchie
Thank you! 😊
You can also attach the ring/necklace attachables to that hair bow!
That is one of my new favs
When I was a child, I loved playing theater, so this set amazed me at first sight 😻👍
It is a pity that it again looks like it begs to be repainted 😹
Agreed, as usual the modern Pollies lack detail but I really like the popcorn exterior at least.

I have 3 in my collection. They are pretty cool looking
Do they still make them or do you buy your son the 90s vintage bluebird toys ones?
I've been eyeing Mighty Max lately. I do want them, but since they aren't really my style, I have them lower in priority.
@@TheDollHaven the vintage ones. I wish they started making them again. It's bothering me that his collection won't be as big as his sisters

Question.. do you like mixing your Polly dolls with other Polly play sets and why or why not 😊👍🏻
Only when I showcase them or post on social media. When they're displayed on my shelf, I don't mix them.
@@Kerchie I’m so glad you said that.., I have a thing about mixing my pieces up hehehe 😁 My love of organizing is satiated with these micro mini toys ♥️

China Glaze base color and the glitter is a Korean brand called Missha.
Omg great
Which early 2000s Polly pocket had edible clothes??? 😳
The ones with rubber clothes. They're not edible but kids would eat them anyway 😂
