I mean, if you watched Vasy early on, you could tell he was nervous, and still getting his bearings. Now that he has his confidence, he is a wall. As for throwing my hands up, I honestly wasn't upset to see Bishop go. His antics about injuries was too much when coupled with Stamkos. I honestly can't say if we would have 3 cups now if we kept both Stamkos and Bishop. I'm not saying they should have gotten rid of either, I'm just saying with them both being prone to injury, it was really hurting the Lightning. You cannot really be successful with two very high dollar team members being so injury prone.

Everyday Red Wings have question what if. What if they didn't trade their pick to the bolts? Would Vasy still been there for Tampa to draft that year or if the wings would have taken Vasy with that pick? All we know now though is Vasy has evolved into arguably the best goalie in the league tofay

When you take things as a foregone conclusion you get swept in the first round by some wild-card team in the playoffs by the skin of their teeth. Cups must be earned. No doubt the Tampa team under the cost cap will be strong, but how strong it is must be seen in the future. And hell no, neither of my teams have a real shot at the cup next year. The Penguins continually invent new ways to shoot themselves in the back, and the Blue Jackets explosively deconstructed this season in spectacular fashion.
This man is reason number one for the success. Look at their record with McElhinney in net. Yes, Mac was terrible, but the Lightning's skaters didn't make Vasy look great ala Brodeur in NJ. Replacing Hamilton with Deangelo is the only evidence I need lol

So heres something to think about. When you have an amazing team in front of you, the chances the other team is getting against you are going to be mainly high threat chances. Yet Vasilevsky still makes insane saves on pretty much all of those. He has some of the best numbers the league has ever seen when it comes to high threat save %
