Thanks for the awesome video! I think yours is the very first to show the Somerset Strikers pack. I can't wait to open mine. Little known fact: at the time of the original cartoon the only officially produced product from the cartoon that was made for use in the game at the same scale as mech minis was a series of buildings including the mech bay from Somerset university. They didn't make ANYTHING else from the cartoon to be used for the tabletop game. I have all 4 of the buildings they made and can't wait to get the Strikers pack to go with them!
Can't wait to see the new Somerset Strikers next to my old Strikers. Made the whole unit back in the 90s, minus the Banshee fighters due to not being made at the time. Old metal: Centurion, Mauler, Wolfhound, Axeman then Awesome, Bushwacker, Hatamoto-Chi. Miss the good old days.
Let's hope that the minis from this kickstarter will be released as retail. We already have enough companies that make cool plastic dudes as limited offers.

It was only added as a bonus add-on option after the kickstarter officially ended, I believe. It was part of a final stretch goal that wasn't reached but they threw it in anyway, you just had to pay for it at retail value instead of being able to add it as a regular pledge reward
Very cool! I missed out on the KS having just got into BattleTech in the past 6 months 😔 If you're not attached to that Pillager I'd love to buy it from you, will happily paint it up for my Canopus Merc company ❤
I am new player too. Got a year and change on my belt. Not sure of your location but target has school supplies. I highly highly recommend getting so clear plastic sheets and dry erase markers. If your on a tight budget use sarna and mech sheets to help pick ypur purchases. The starter paint set from army painter is nice. I got more tips if you want em
Painting your museum scale TimberWolf in Kell hounds colors is lore accurate. After Wolf In Exile set up base on Arc Royal the Kell’s were well equipped by the Wolves with clan tech.
I have an Iron Winds Bushwhacker painted like Valten Ryder's Bushwhacker already or I would have picked the Somerset Strikers box. I had the Matchbox version as a kid because of the cartoon.
I am the ambassador from Marian Hegemony. I was send to declare war on your channel. I'm not sure what that means but if we are ever in the same event hall I will have many powerful Hegemony battlemechs to challenge the back of your 'mechs. Just a warning. :) Good video. Even if you have weak forces. blech.
they all look great. is there any eta from catalyst for when the new products hit the retail market? now that people are finally receiving kick starter shipments.
No ETA as yet. Once the normal backers have received all their stuff, the commercial backers will get theirs and a full retail release sometime after that. How long all that will take is anyone's guess as fulfillment seems to be going quite slowly at the moment and I'm not sure it's even started in Europe yet.
In fairness, the pillager only showed up once in the novels as far as I recall. But man was it a terrifying appearance. Initiation to War is the novel for anyone wonderkng
Unfortunately, I recently discovered there are still 40 year old men that can run a little under 17.5 minute 5ks. One of these days the odds will work out for me in the Masters division.
@@RockoRobotics Bloody hell that’s fast! I was pretty sedentary in my teens to mid-30s, only really getting into running and fitness more generally as I got older and began to get reminded by my body that I needed to look after myself. Hats off to those fellas if they’re also able to hold a job and raise a family - I’m flat out doing that and just turning up for the run, let alone setting the pace.
I want to address the Cicada. While the stock version from 3025 is not a good mech, it's not a contender for "worst mech ever" the way that the Urbanmech and Charger are. And once it gets to 3050 and Star League tech becomes available, there's a proliferation of fairly good Cicada variants, though most of them aren't terribly common due to being primarily limited to the Free Worlds League.
It is definitely a 90’s kids cartoon series, but I think it was the best 90’s kids cartoon series. When I was 10, the cgi parts with the enhanced imaging were the coolest thing ever.
These items were are all available in the Kickstarter. I have no affiliation with Catalyst Game Labs or any other entity involved in the Kickstarter though.
All the vehicles come with Alpha Strike stat cards. There are no specific Alpha Strike Rules in this box, so would you need the Commander’s Edition of the Rulebook to use vehicle cards.
The core rules of the modern version of Battletech as produced by Catalyst Game Labs is about 99% identical to the FASA version. The Special Case Rules and those kind of things, have more changes though.
FINALLY! I can build my 16 Savanna Master list!
[ME ONE WEEK LATER] Hey, why doesn't anyone at the game store want to talk to me anymore?
Calling a pillager a b tier, is a hot take that makes a nova pilot blush 😅
For some reason I never found that Mech interesting enough to grab my attention when I was younger.
It might be in terms of fame, but i think it‘s a great assault Mech. 100 tons, jump capable and twin gauss was great back in the day.
There is a sealth armor version that is a monster to try and put down.

Living vicariously until my stuff shows up

Man, I can't wait for my stuff to ship. I'm stoked. Thanks for the video!
My Legendary Salvage boxes were both Mad Cats. I was happy to add the Striker Sommerset to my order as a last minute option they offered.
Well, having multiple Mad Cats is generally a good thing…even if random booster boxes are a never ending source of frustration.
i really wish battletech was more widespread in the UK
The Cicada is just a rich man's Locust.
I'd say it's a dumb man's locust.
