I think the total number of outs with the home team winning could be 51, 52, or 53. Can walk it off with 1 or 2 outs in the 9th! Either way, awesome content like always!

Technically it would be 48-50 outs. If home team wins in 9 innings it’s impossible for the other team to get all of their 27 outs. If home team wins in top of the ninth it would be 48 outs. If home team walk it off in the ninth then away team could have a max of two outs in that inning which would put the total max at 50.

@@The8BitNerd He didn’t say that, he said home team WALKED IT OFF, meaning there had to be at least 1 run required to win the game or “walk it off” if the Home team never returns to the at bat it’s not walking it off.

Randy Johnson got 20k's in 9 innings pitched on May 8th, 2001. Bullshit that it doesn't count as tying the record just because the game went to extra innings after he left the game. He recorded 27 outs, and 20 of them were K's. He should absolutely be officially tied for the record imo. Not his fault his team couldn't muster any offense to keep the game from going to extra innings.

For the total outs question, couldn’t there be multiple answers? Like, if the home team went into the bottom of the 9th down runs and got two outs before scoring enough runs to win, then the answer would be 53 outs right?
You are way over analyzing it, this is just how many generally are in a baseball game

As a Royals fan, hats to them for even knowing any Royals players lol. For the Royals line, I had Esky (shout out to Kev), CY Young Grienke, and ROTY George Brett. Salvy and Gordo were solid guesses for ROTY but Gordo wasn't the player he would turn out to be until he switched to LF and Salvy barely played his first two years in the majors.
