Klaus Schulze passed away on April 26, 2022 at the age of 74 after a long disease but all of a sudden. We lose and will miss one of the most influential and important composers of electronic music - a man of conviction and an exceptional artist. His always cheerful nature, his innovative spirit and his impressive body of work remain indelibly rooted in our memories.

Klaus Schulze died on 26-Apr-2022.
He will be greatly missed.
And I really mean it. The music of Mr. Schulze escorts me through my whole live.
Beginning with "Blackdance" (when I was in the age of 14), continueing with "Trancefer" (where I had the opportunity to go to a concert in 1981 in Hamburg/Germany), my personal highlight "Dig It - Spielglocken" (countless listen sessions) and all the other great works (for example the collaboration with Ash Ra Tempel on "Friendship").
Yes, he will be GREATLY missed!

I am glad and honored that I saw him 2008 at the Loreley Festival, a warm embracing summer night! It was a magic concert at a beautiful location, together with the stunning Lisa Gerrard!
What an stellar performance! I will never forget that night!
After the concert I was able to talk to Mr Schulze, what a humble soul! May he rest in peace!

Yes Blackdance was the 1st of his albums I found too at 15 in Australian import records in Sydney. I loved his work with The Cosmic Jokers too. I adored Timewind too & his 1st album Picture Music. His compilations with Arthur Brown arer beautiful Like Time Actor & Dune. I didn't know till I saw this looking up the Dune rehersals. RIP

Klaus Schulze 's music has been a constant companion since first discovering, IRRLICHT in 1975. Everybody thought i was weird for listening to, "strange weird music..." My reply always was, "this is music of the FUTURE". Exploring the UNIVERSE with your music has been a blessing. I will never forget your musical philosophy, the musical piece is finished in the listeners mind...Klaus thank you for your unwavering dedication and creative MUSICAL GENIUS. Generations fron now will understand the FATHER OF 20TH and 21ST century ELECTRONIC SPACE MUSIC...
It is very difficult for me, that Klaus Schulze is not with us any more. All those years before, he was a friend.

I listen to every kind of music and I like very much when some bring something new. From metal to classical we have seen great musicians and groups, but if we are looking for someone who has gone beyond the frontiers of contemporary music and dared to experiment with sounds and technologies we need to look at Schulze. He has been and will long be seen as an innovator, a pioneer of a genre that few people have been able to appreciate in the last 50 years!
Thank you very much Klaus for ALL your beautiful music, passion and love. You are immortal ! 🙏♥️🌞

Klaus Schulze was a magnificent electronic music pioneer, composer and musician.
He was briefly a member of Tangerine Dream, Ash Ra Tempel, and the Cosmic Jokers before launching a solo career consisting of more than 60 albums released across six decades.
Unfortunately Klaus died recently after a long illness .

No me cabe duda que la música del maestro Klaus Schulze es atemporal y que demuestra una exquisitez maravillosa.
Gone but never forgotten, Klaus Schulze was a unique pioneer of electronic music. No-one else came even close to matching his musical vision, his creativity and his emotional impact, there was something really special about his music. I'm not sure the term; "Musical genius" comes even close to describing the man. I had the privilege of being a fan from 1973, corresponding with him from 1976, and after joining POEM Musikverlag in 1989, performing at two concerts with him in the mid 1990's and being his guest at events in Germany. Not only was Klaus Schulze an amazing musician and creator of electronic music, but he was a wonderfully warm, friendly and caring human being. Echoing a previous post, "Farewell to the greatest electronic artist of all time". But just as importantly, farewell to a great man!
Klaus, your legacy will live on in our ears as long as they can hear. Love from Russia

No words can describe the exact moment I heard about his passing. That awful realisation that he’s gone. Never to return. Then I very slowly realised that he’ll always be here through his music. A cliché I know but it’s absolutely true in fact of any artist who plough their own furrow irrespective of public taste. I’ve often thought how Klaus managed to stand out in the overcrowded field of Electronic music. I could never answer that question to my satisfaction. All I can come up with is this: His music always sounded of eternity. No beginning nor end. His sonic artistry was humbly portrayed with sheer wonderment and delight. He never ever lost that. Also he was very much interested in the music of sound as opposed to the sound of music.
I’ll leave you with this beautiful quote from Departure From the Northern Wasteland by Michael Hoenig:
“Repetition is the image of eternity in music. The music of the past justifies itself for its limitation. The music of the future is sparing itself this effort”

Je zocht voortdurend nieuwe grenzen op.Het label 'elektronische muziek " doet in feite afbreuk aan jouw muzikale nalatenschap.Het is zoveel meer.Ik heb meer dan eens ervaren hoe jouw typische klank(kleur) mij raakte .(touching my soul).Zo kom je iets dichter bij de mens achter de muziek.Je was tot tweemaal toe te gast in mijn stad(Gent)Dat zijn blijvende herinneringen.Ik denk dat je heel veel mensen geinspireerd hebt.Generaties.Dat je er nu niet meer bent stemt mij (diep)bedroeft.je was immers een vriend voor het leven .Op jou kon je altijd rekenen.jouw muziek zal altijd blijven en mensen inspireren .Rust zacht.Het ga je goed.(een vriend)

Ein fantastischer Musiker und Innovator, der uns völlig neue musikalische Welten erschlossen hat. Unvergesslich, das Konzert in Berlin 1978, bei dem das Publikum mit dem Rücken auf dem Boden lag und sich dem Kosmos im Gewölbe der Eissporthalle hingab. Auch Klaus hatte uns den Rücken zugedreht. Es ging nur um die Musik und die Ent-Rückung! R.I.P. Klaus.
