This does not put balance discussion to rest at all. Not to mention the vast majority of balance discussion is just whining from commenters who dont play or even understand the game themselves. Also this should stop people complaining that infestors are hard countered by ghosts. They arent. Its a soft counter and it goes both ways. Fungal'd ghosts are dead ghosts. 2 fungals in the entirety of game 1 landed and it singlehandedly won the game as without the ghost terran simply cant hold even against basic ling bane hydra. Amd clem even forgot adrenal and vipers in that game. On the other hand reynor should've used more libs as well tho.
@@Havoc199 Fungal'ed ghosts not necessarily being dead but quite often just 2-3 dying for quite an investment of zerg army is exactly the problem and there are countless videos of recent pro matches you can look at it. Just in the serral vs. maru 4 - 1 or 4-0 or what it was that was insanely apparent. Serral fully fungal'ed so many armies of maru and won all the later games by the skin of his teeth. Serral used the entire zerg arsenal, including nyduses to rescue lurkers stuck behind PFs, constantly scouting, dropping etc. while maru couldn't even be bothered to build 1-2 ravens to detect the random infestors or rebuild his anti-infestor turrets after some point. You can see many zergs heavily outplaying T, like clem getting his bases constantly run by by reynor in many games yet he can just press forward because zerg is so bad at defending stimmed bio if T plays well enough that he usually gets something in return. If T players are good in very specific skills but worse than their opponent in most other aspects of the game, it just feels cheap for them to win and that's clearly some inbalance in that specific aspect of T. If clem did better with his consistency of play and didn't focus that much on attacking but also defended better, zerg would have no chance at all, because almost no zerg have a decent shot at clem anyways. You need the basic bio, the tanks/mines. Libs and medevacs. Viking if opponent has any air. Then of course the ghost ball. If any of these are lacking it open up opportunities to crack open terrans. Ghosts are the only thing that really holds it all together. This combination of units is exactly what makes late game terran so strong and very difficult to push into. But at the same time it's why they have to commit large supply to a single area to hold. You need all the pieces so having to split the army just weakens both halves. I don't think there is much inherent imbalance in the game right now. Tournament wins are a tiny sample size and comes down to individual player, not race. All the major tournaments are won by a couple of the same players again and again.
This is somehow the least and also most likely thing for these two players to do i feel. I am similtaneously surprised and goijg "yeah that sounds right"
when both teams are maxxed out supply and sitting on 6k+ gas, terrain build extra planetaries and missle turrets to turtle in. why doesn't zerg just build more hatcheries and spines? Would'n't it make sense at some point to turn all drones into non supply units and just have so many hatcheries that you could sned stop all-in ultra/brood with a massive near endless army? how hard would it be to rush ling into production and send brood/ultra/lurk on the main front?
Y'all can argue all day about whether or not Terran is "overpowered" but this set just perfectly illustrates how the bad design of Terran just breaks the game. Reynor (barely) loses two games while playing Terran in good faith, then perfectly illustrates how Terran can just "decide" to win by engaging in a stupid and boring play pattern, and winning three straight games that weren't even close. The chef's kiss was game three, where Reynor shows off how superfluous are all the things we usually pretend that high-level Terrans are doing that win these games. He didn't multi-drop, he didn't immaculately target-fire banelings or split marines, he didn't harass, he didn't even push. He left Clem alone to do whatever he wanted on the map for 15 full minutes, and it didn't matter. Reynor decides not to just obliterate Clem the fist time he makes a mistake, and instead lets Clem concede that the game is unwinnable even with a $22k+ resource bank and full map control.
Yea yea, downplay the Best SC2 player on this planet as “barley winning out of pity”- just keep on doing this for 10 more years and the Zerg might finally receive a martyr status.
My brother in Christ this is Clem fucking around on a race he rarely plays vs Reynor who's a pretty decent terran at pro level. Make no mistake Dark wouldn't have lost vs Reynor given that space and resources. You're reading way too hard in to the copium when the reality is Clems not a good Zerg and the micro that is his biggest strength is wasted.
To me these games really show how overpowered terrans are. The skill and creativity needed to play Zerg into Terrans is insanely high while Terrans just neeed to not get totally destroyed early and not throw entire armies (throwing away 1 army seems fine unless its your literal first one) and be fine. Yes, the unit composition of Clem was not great and he didnt play all that well but seeing how easy it is to turtle as terran, how cost effective the Terrans are, the insanely overpowered ghosts and siegetanks. I seriously thing there is a problem here.
100% agree. Theres a reason clem 5-0'ed seral in the 100k tournament. This is the problem with the highest level play in starcraft 2 the pros dont play their absolute strongest cards because they dont want the devs to know just how powerful particular set ups are, so when no money is on the line clem plays marines medivacs marauders and siege. He very rarely plays ghost in typical matches where theres no rewards, its not a criticism of clem or top players, its moreso my frustration the devs dont play their own game as well as pros, or even have a feedback system for professional players to impact the game ballance.
Clem clapped Reinor with 2/0 in the first 60 minutes, Clem started to fall off in the second half of the game only for the simple reason that he couldn't do end-game the way a proper Zerg main does. Just better at the game.

How satisfying to see Clem fall to exactly the unit that annoys Zerg the most, and with no counter-strategy to it at all.
the only counter is to only use t1 and t2 units.. lol
If you watch game 1 again. He killed all the ghosts twice. With ling bane hydra and a single infestor.
This is somehow the least and also most likely thing for these two players to do i feel. I am similtaneously surprised and goijg "yeah that sounds right"
One unit baiting zerg into a seige tank line is exactly like a SC1 campaing mission.
Reynor here just casually showing how broken terran are. Terran with zerg instincts is truly unbreakable.
They dont show up on the unit death screen because they are MIA. not declared dead :P
Like button smashed 🎉🎉🎉
I don't flip the script, the script flips me -Clem
when both teams are maxxed out supply and sitting on 6k+ gas, terrain build extra planetaries and missle turrets to turtle in. why doesn't zerg just build more hatcheries and spines? Would'n't it make sense at some point to turn all drones into non supply units and just have so many hatcheries that you could sned stop all-in ultra/brood with a massive near endless army? how hard would it be to rush ling into production and send brood/ultra/lurk on the main front?
1:20:00 HE DID YOUR THING WINTER
Dude I love your Bob Ross shirt.
Reynor's bio flanking as if they are zerglings😂
Serral gets smashed and suddenly the Zerg fanboys start crying about imba LMAAAAAAAAAO
I believe clem didn't use the right unit composition at the end. Broodlord would have balanced the game if used. He never used the nydus too..
@@Wicoybroods are trash cmon, I agree on Nydus. Could at least burn some apm on those
Yea yea, downplay the Best SC2 player on this planet as “barley winning out of pity”- just keep on doing this for 10 more years and the Zerg might finally receive a martyr status.
I think what you're experiencing is referred to as confirmation bias.
@@TheLOMTONG I think what you're experiencing is confirmation bias whilst perceiving someone else's opinions as confirmation bias.
To me this types of comments really show that to talk about balance in asymetric game someone need to have at least medium IQ.
Gotta say I love the Bob Ross shirt
Oh I like this. Now we need Serral playing Terran
apparently serral is actually very strong with terran, would like to see it too tbh
I appreciate the iodis reference 🙇🏼♂️
Clem game two: okay, but instead of reapers, why don't I just micro 4 zerglings?
Is my opponent race or strategy Imbalanced or do I just suck?
Clem's Brenda and Susan are quite spicy.
Seeing these two make mistakes like they are in the lower Top 10 of the world is actually quite refreshing!
Ghost's a pretty good unit, huh Clem 😉😁
"and i'd do it anyways because i don't know what elts i'd do with my life" literally the last 8 videos i've seen.
else?
game 1 - i thought reynor have that in the bag until that game changing fungal!
game 5 - u know it's bad when the terran have more mining base than the zerg.
Need need need to know where the soundtrack playing at 56:46 is from. Been trying to Shazam it pretty much every video to no avail
Thanks to you i got a little bit better day Sir
Game 5 was a Nova-Campaign mission :D
Game 4 was pure Reynor fire. Normally a Clemfan but was super impressed with Reynor’s hellion play.
losing hellions aren't very impressive
@@aliceborg254sacrificed actually. That allowed the marine push that won G4.
@@GenePerry you are an idiot. He killed no drones, he just lost the hellions. Tank pushes are stronger in t v z if you have hellion support. What you said was idiotic.
what a cool series
I'm just surprised Clem pulled out a win in a drawn out game with no adrenal.
Haha jimmy needs a vacation that’s a lot of counting.
Clem losing to mass ghost is very nice to watch!
What about Broodlords or Swarmhosts in last two games? not good?
Now that's entertainment.
If we ever get a major event we need winter casting
So gosu
i guess a hand full of zerglings isnot even one considering they are like young cows in mass
First time I see clem playing the underd.. I mean zerg😅 38:51 I love how he cares his queens without queens all is lost .this kid is talented with Z I am 😮
Damn that's a good race.
super fun series
the most professional starcraft 2.
I'm a terran so naturally my race is imba AND i suck.
oh that's so awesome
Hmm, I'm here for this for sure.
Awesome series
will jimmy appear on october 31? He works very hard and maybe deserves a spot.
I'm a simple man. Number go up. I like.
