Val Shively and Chuck Dabagian are national treasures. Buying 45's from these guys is a special experience. It's like having access to The Library of Congress. My 45 collection gets a little more special when I get an order from them.
A while ago, someone gave me a cd of an interview that Val had done years ago on radio 1210 am.Having listened to that interview and now this one,I think that Val is one of the great storytellers.I had been searching for the new documentary about him,but this is probably just as good.Well done!
Loved those times I hopped on the train from Harrisburg going to Val's original tiny store packed with records and buying great "psych shit" (Val's term for garage & psych 45s) back then for pennies on the dollar! Then he found out! My "Psychedelic Unknowns" series of comps was filled with Val "psych shit" records! Will always remember those happy daze!
