Everything that Kai Hansen touches always turns into GOLD!!! Kai deserves to be recognized as the GODFATHER of Power Metal. Kai Hansen is still writing masterpieces like Skyfall on Helloween's most recent studio album. Kai has always been one of my favorite songwriters for the past thirty five years. He is up there with Steve Harris, Tony Iommi, Rob Halford, Glenn Tipton, KK Downing, and other legendary songwriters.
My word exactly Andre! "EPIC"! I am in Cleveland Ohio and pray Kai and the boys would make Hall of Fame. But they are A-holes on the Hallof Fame committee.

I would hit the thumb up bottom 1000 times if RUclips could tell how I loved it. All my respect and thanks to Gammaray placed such wonderful live show in COVID age, and broadcasted it all over the world.
I was super skeptical about Frank when he joined (I am a huge fan of Kai's voice) but I have to say, some of the moments when they harmonize together are just magical.
Disagree wish they would just bring raloh back on vocals full time if it could be worked out. Since micheal ehre is also drumming for primal fear. And raloh is one of the only vocalists that can match kai in his prime and exceed him. That includes micheal kiske. To me frank looks out of place on stage. And if you listen to the performance of lust for life with raloh from this show frank beck was trying to harmonize with ralph in parts where there should not be additional vocals and weren't on the original recording either. And frank sounded too raspy and even raspier than kai even now. They need to let him go. Even with helloween and micheal kiske and andi with kai things look and sound great with out any singers sounding out of place. Gamma ray is too good of a band to have an inexperienced vocalist. And frontman. Who is really just there because kai can't sing like he used to with the highs. At least with ralph kai could relax more. As raloh could sing everything.
@@gabrielstern4992 It's a hard truth that weighs heavy on me man. Frank genuinely looks like he's loving it up there, and he definitely deserves to be with pipes like that! But he just doesn't suit what's came before considering Raph's vocal timbre and then Kai's - both have very bright sounding mids. From what I've heard so far, Frank has more wider mids in his voice, but it sacrifices that brighter mid voice I know I love about Gamma Ray's vocals with Ralph and Kai. Ultimately, it's the band's choice and I respect that, but I'm not looking forward to any new studio albums with such a dramatic vocal change. As a massive Queen fan, I feel the exact same way about Adam Lambert; I love the band but I'm glad they haven't released any studio albums with Adam, it would be a waste of new material. There are so many amazing vocalists out there, surely one of them would step up to the plate to be a part of Gamma Ray! I'd happily settle for Jorn if it had to be someone from the Helloween inner circle of guys! Would be cool to see someone maybe 10 years younger than the band take the mantle and give it their all too though!
@@gabrielstern4992 I think frank sounds better than current Ralf tbh. Except for the fifth octave stuff. Ralf has tone consistency issues and tends to get more nasal and thin as he sings high and I'm not fond of it. 4:05 is amazing for example

But not the right singer for gamma ray just like blayze Bailey was all wrong for maiden and Tim was all wrong for priest. And gamma ray is too good of a band for that. I understand kai's highs have diminished to the point where he needs a frontman. Now but ralph would be best but if not. I would take henning basse who filled in vocally for kai in 2008 And fronted metallium. Frank just looks out of place. Too. It just does not look or sound right on stage. If it were just ralph it would look right and sound right. Even with the later stuff. For me also gamma ray has tunned down a whole step vs half a step since 2009 and even with frank they still have not solved that issue. With raloh they could maybe not go back to standard tunning but half a step down tunning. That's another thing I have not liked. Is the loss of the melodic edge frank is also not melodic or versatile the way kai is or raloh is. For the album thing you mentioned With raloh I would be okay with another album. But frank no way. It sounded to me weird enough hearing frank sing land of the free and avalon. Where kai singing avalon by himself live in 2014 even into early 2015 sounded more energetic and much better.

Frank sounds great. And he's not had an easy start to the band really, he's been in the band...5 years now? Or 7 since his first live show? And he's only had live appearances to win over fans, just gotta nail it live rather than on a studio recording for an album with multiple takes at every song. Deserves a lot of respect!
i think Mister Frank Beck is a great addition to he band, can imagine how it must feel for him, to join an band for the first time that has been around for 25+ years, means that kai can sings songs whenever he wants, do only back up vocals when he wants. or just the play the guitar when he notices his voice is in bad shape. yes Frank sound a bit different then kai, but fro mwhat i hear they Harmonize quite well. and isnt afraid to take his own take on the gamma ray songs. i am really hoping for a new studio album though. its been 7 years since empire of the dead. this is the longest distance between albums.
Kai is doing helloween now as his mean gig. As for a different voice I don't necessarily want that either. Ralph has a slightly different voice than kai also but he matches Kai for the style of singing that gamma ray requires. Frank does not period. Good singer wrong voice for gamma ray. Andi deris and micheal kiske on some stuff would sound better than frank for what gamma ray requires. And they are kai's band mates in helloween And that says a lot coming from me considering my opinions on micheal kiskes first stint in helloween. And that I still think if raloh had not turned Kai down in 1986 for the heloween gig how much better the 2 keepers albums would have sounded. And Kai probably would not have left helloween and started over. With Ralph. And you know what I don't care if raloh uses some nasel like kai when singing gamma ray songs if they require that to sound good and like they should that's what counts That's why considering micheal ehre the current drummer is now a member of primal fear also with Ralph a founding member of gamma ray. Is why if it can be worked out raloh should return to gamma ray is there frontman and let frank beck go. And by the way Ralph sounds better harmonizing with kai vs frank beck even today don't believe me watch the heading for the east video from 1990.

the truth is that the real power of this band is playing live! Avalon in live version is much better than the original, which is genius anyway! Listening to the lyrics I have an impression that Kai was inspired by the Dune Herebert saga.
I'm a huge fan of Kai Hansen and his voice. Especially on the high notes, always epic. The new vocalist is really good but nobody is better on these songs than Kai Hansen..
