The Swiss Air Force pilots can fly the Hornet to the edge. They have to be some of the best pilots I've seen. And kudos to their maintenance personnel as well, they keep their Hornets in immaculate condition.
they have to be this good! Our country is 3/4 filled with huge mountains! Actually other pilots from other countries aren't allowed to "practice" in Switzerland anymore! Too many pilots crashing into mountains...About a year ago even a expirianced swiss pilot died at a "wall", the second pilot made a "emergency clim out" and still lives....
Great job guy's. Keep the Hornet in immaculate condition so they get easier to sell when you move into the future and embrace Gripen E as your air superiority fighter and become one of the most modern air forces in the world. Keep up the good work.
Um, yeah, I don't really care for the Hornet. It is not even close to being one of my favorite fighter jets. I was simply complimenting the Swiss Air Force in my comment. Thanks though.
Agreed. I think the current Euro fighter jets (Typhoon, Rafale, and Gripen ) are awesome and think our shortsighted American politicians should purchase either of these to supplement our F-22 s and replace the great F-15. Thanks
Actually this was probably shot in Germany, where the Swiss Air Force trains regularly. BAE Systems provides four former Israeli A-4Ns as target tugs for the German Luftwaffe back in 2001. So that's probably what it is. Has the Luftwaffe color scheme, so that is most likely what it is.
To answer your question, yes swiss german is quite different to 'high german' which is spoken in germany most often and your comparison witch quebec french and parisian french is quite good. an important point is also that that every swiss german speaking guy like me understands the high german speaking ones, but they got really big problems to understand us;). and by the way, in switzerland we speak swiss german, french, italian and retro romanian which is a very very old dialect.
Hoi Ubereem , Danke für deinen Kommentar ! jaa habs gerade vor 2 Minuten Erfahren im Département Doubs , France .. Super guter F/A Jet , Leider vielzuviel anfällige Technik an Bord !!
Oh I thought you meant what was taking off. What is on the tarmac is an A-4, yes. You can tell by the wings, the fuselage, the engine, and the bubble canopy. The bigger question is...whom does it belong to?
@Mike Nudds, :-) I'm also swiss but i almost don't understand a word : i spek french. there's also a third language, italian and it's due to the proximity with other countries. swiss german is indeed and old dialect and it is close to south germany dialects
zeult: I knew that French and Italian were also a part of the Swiss culture to. You have a couple thousand years of history with different shifts in culture wars and the like so I can see how the lanuages would develop there own dialect. You definitely live in a very rich culture. I'm looking forward to maybe getting over there in the next coupe of years. I can speak only Canadian, Eh.
Would Swiss German compared to German be like Quebec French campared to Parisian French? I noticed that German subtitles were needed so I assume the Swiss German is really quite different although I can see that many of the words are the same. Just interested to know.
NO NO, stop the video in 0:58. In the right side. That is an A-4 !!! I recognise that fighter because is the Argentinian Fighter. The A-4 is very known here in Argentina. ;)
scho bitzli erstuunlich, dass en brülleträger mitere hornet in norwege umedüst... denn selektiered's scho früeh nach kriterie, wo eigentlich mit flüge an sich nütz z'tue händ... aber sehschwächi - was soll's? nimmt mi ja wunder, we de typ das kompensiert hed.

I agree Frank. Extremely high standard displayed here from the Swiss air force and associated personnel. Well done.

Wish someone would make this video with English subtitles.

m
That's an F-18 lol
