Hinged wire coffin pendant tutorial

Hi Guys,
In this tutorial I will show you how to create a hinged 3D coffin pendant featuring an interchangeable coffin shaped focal stone. I will show you how to construct the lower half first, incorporating a hinge mechanism, and the lower latch for the lock. We will then create a lid, complete with spider web and matching upper latch. To finish off I will show you how to create a recessed bail and a little gemstone spider to complete the design.

• 10m (394 in.) of 0.3 mm (28 ga) wire
• 1 m (39. 4in.) of 0.4 mm (26 ga) wire
• 2 m (78.6 in.) of 0.8 mm (20 ga) wire
Stones:
• 1 x 3 cm coffin shaped stone
Separate tutorial for the spider
• 1 m (39.4in.) of 0.4 mm (26 ga) wire
• 1m (39.4 in.) of 0.6 mm (22 ga) wire
• 1 x 4 mm pearl
• 1 x 4 mm faceted round stone
OR
• 1 x 4 mm drilled bead
Tools:
• Needle nose pliers
• Fine tipped flush cutters
• Chain nose pliers
• Round nose pliers
• Vernier calipers (ruler also works)
• Polishing materials

Spooktacular! The shape of the bail reminds me of a cats head. I do wonder however if making the bail should be last, to keep it from being smashed up. Thanks for the video!

Thank you. 😊 This is just the way I did it because I found that doing it first ensured a more accurate fit for the lid, but of course you can do the bail last if you want.
