블락비 팬은 아니지만 오랜만에 갑자기 생각나서 들어왔는데 여전히 명곡이구나.. 이때 아이돌들 노래는 화제성과 좋은 멜로디를 갖춘 전성기였는데 요즘엔 그저 화제성과 중독성에만 초점을 맞춘 노래들이 많은 것 같아 안타깝다. 물론 그 곡들도 좋고 하나의 시대적 문화이자 나중엔 예쁘게 추억되겠지만.

I totally forgot about this song, just came across it randomly and all the memories and feels rushed through me in an instant. I still remember how I stayed up the whole night with fellow fans to watch this MV the SECOND it was released. I just COULD NOT wait for my boys to finally come back. For those of you who are curious about Block B and what they went through from a viewing point of a very passionate BBC, here you go lol. It probably will turn out ass long, since I still care about them deeply. It is also a love letter to BB. Block B debuted in April 2011 with "Freeze" and as a hiphop fan I was very interested in them, since they were promoted as a heavyly hiphop influenced boy group. They didn't disappoint me. Go listen to "Halo" or "Wanna B" from their first album, those are absolute bangers. So I started following them along. They weren't on many variety shows, and if they were, they would be really awkward and chaotic. Like, I think nothing really let them stood out in their debut phase (except rapping and Zico's pineapple hair). Like I said, they were awkward to watch, didn't have outstanding vocals or visuals and they could do anything but dance lol. They themselves identified as seven ugly boys who are trying to make it big haha. In early 2012 they came back with "Nalina" and they managed to turn their chaotic energy into something very unique and fun. The comeback was a success, they still had a very small but very dedicated community. (Favorite track from that album "LOL", hits hard) Until the biggest und most unnessecary sht storm happened to them. Some natural disaster happened in Thailand, Block B were interviewed and asked if they will donate in favor of the victims , Zico answered something along the lines "I don't even have $5 for myself, why would I donate" (which was apparently more than true, as we found out later that year). The interview was awkward and cringy, the boys were nervous and chaotic. Wrong translations of that interview followed and spreaded FAST. People said Block B were disrespectful and ignorant, korean news sites were publishing all sorts of articles, the commentary section was a mess, death threads and hate speeches, other celebrities spoke out against them. Fans were confused, a lot turned against them in the end. A lot of fuss was made. It all happened 2 weeks or so after their comeback, they had to stop promoting. Block B was devastated. Not even once did they talk back or try to defend themselves. They took every hit. Zico shaved his head as a sign of remorse. They apologised in the most hearttearing way with a 90 degree bow. Half a year passed filled with a lot of hate for Block B. But it only made the fandom stronger and we also gained new supportive fans :) "We got your back" was our slogan, a quote from the intro of "Tell Them". Second comeback of the year was announced, a full length album!!!, and we were so hyped. "Nillili Mambo" was beyond, so was the whole album (favs: No Joke, Movie's Over) It was my first Kpop album I have ever bought, and I still get sentimental when looking at it. So, Block B were going off, and BBCs were . Around a month later it was announced that Block B is suing their company. All the dirty things came up, that Block B hadn't been paid since their debut, that they had a dorm way too small for all the seven of them etc. I don't remember all of it. The company treated them as sht. Block B left them. It was a scary time, because we didn't know if they'd ever come back. But we had faith. Zico was a smart both as a leader and a person, we had faith that he would figure out something. Entertainment's would have been stupid not to take them in. They wrote all of their lyrics themselves, produced most of them also on their own. So we all stood by their side, supported them from the distance, did projects for them, waited for them. And waited, and waited. A year. In September 2013 they announced their comeback under a new agency and this exact MV you see above was their first song they've released after a one year hiatus. This song was dedicated to BBCs, as a response to their support. It marked a new era for Block B. And it meant so much for all of us. They and their fans had gone through so many ups and downs in their first 2 1/2 years, but it also drew them closer together. They've grown so much, musically, mentally, as persons. BBC felt like family. We were a small but strong fandom, and we were so proud of Block B. We loved them and they loved us. (Search for "Block B cry showcase" on youtube.) "Very Good" followed (best comeback of all times) and the rest is pretty much history lol "Jackpot", "Her", "Toy" etc Block B never failed to surprise us with a new sound or a different side. tbh my life cought up with me somewhen in 2017, so I had to drop kpop, but I always like going back. And I am happy to see that our work and support paid off :) They are going their ways and doing what they love to do. It's all I wish for them. And for YOU, yes YOU, I wish all of the best, too. Quarantine makes us feel all the feels, I guess. I was introduced to Block B late, very very late (sometime before Shall We Dance era). Knowing what they had gone through such hardship and knowing that there's a similar group I love who has a similar story (B.A.P) of suing their company after not getting paid makes me thankful that Block B is still together. I have this feeling of wanting to protect them. Same with B.A.P, Block B is irreplaceable. No idol can rock their concepts the way Block B does. I am very grateful that I stan them even though I start late
thank you so much for writing this long story about Block B and the love of BBC for them.. actually I heard their name when I was in hs but I didn't follow them because I was so hyped by Apink during that time (2011) . I really want to avoid stanning boy groups idk why.. but someone introduced me to a variety show called Problematic Men , I was fascinated by RM , but he then left and was replaced by Kyung.. I fell in love with Kyung's cuteness and brain.. so I searched for him and I came across with Block B again.. searched for some songs and eventually fell in love with all the members😭 they are so sweet and talented and visual group.. then also what makes me happy is that Kyung and Bomi (of Apink my bias) were friends and Jaehyo also together with Bomi volunteered for an event ?.. that makes my heart so happy knowing they are friends with my ult fave GG ❤ but recently found out that Kyung will enlist and also Ukwon will follow 😢 that makes me sad.. so rn I am scanning through everything in yt and tw looking for some contents of Block B bcuz I was too late to stan them 😢 .. I hope someday I can see them ot7 again promoting ~~ I will definitely buy an album huhuhu ps. I'm actually flexing Block B to my couzins (12 yrs old and 15 yrs old)😂 , I always told them this group produces and writes their own songs .. I told them to stan boy groups like them , stan talent and cuteness.. yeah , they love them 😊 I'm proud of my self lol😂
They always have a place in my heart. These boys are amazing. They have gone through a lot but watching them in any variety..yup these are the chaotic boys that always made me smile. I am so happy and grateful they're together till now.
I am so sad that I was not a BBC when they had problems. I just watched this and the video made me cry. Then I read the comments about their old company and what the video means and how this is like the old company beating them down and them getting up and moving forward and going on and I feel like my head is exploding from just now getting all of this figured out and now everything i know is completely different and I swear these guys deserve everything. I love them so much and I never thought I could cry about a band but these guys are so much more. And the fact that they stayed in the game and pushed their way out is just the most beautiful thing in the world. And I don't know how I could ever live my life without them.
Just to say Block B talent is actually not lose to recent top idols. Instead of being crazy fans loving the oppa Im always having so much respect to them with their creativity and hardworking. I'd rather call them artist instead of idol.

The most triumphant comeback song in the history of kpop. Maybe I'm exaggerating, but to this day I still remember the chills I got watching their comeback after all the shit that they went through. Still my favorite song ever and it will always be more than a song for them. Stronger for it and look where they are now with Jackpot comeback...the most colorful and animated group in kpop today.
For real though, seeing Block B go through shit involving their fans, the public and their very own company yet making a comeback with this masterpiece of a song AND "Very Good" is what made me a BBC. Their determination is really amazing.

I totally forgot about this song, just came across it randomly and all the memories and feels rushed through me in an instant. I still remember how I stayed up the whole night with fellow fans to watch this MV the SECOND it was released. I just COULD NOT wait for my boys to finally come back.
For those of you who are curious about Block B and what they went through from a viewing point of a very passionate BBC, here you go lol. It probably will turn out ass long, since I still care about them deeply. It is also a love letter to BB.
Block B debuted in April 2011 with "Freeze" and as a hiphop fan I was very interested in them, since they were promoted as a heavyly hiphop influenced boy group. They didn't disappoint me. Go listen to "Halo" or "Wanna B" from their first album, those are absolute bangers. So I started following them along. They weren't on many variety shows, and if they were, they would be really awkward and chaotic. Like, I think nothing really let them stood out in their debut phase (except rapping and Zico's pineapple hair). Like I said, they were awkward to watch, didn't have outstanding vocals or visuals and they could do anything but dance lol. They themselves identified as seven ugly boys who are trying to make it big haha. In early 2012 they came back with "Nalina" and they managed to turn their chaotic energy into something very unique and fun. The comeback was a success, they still had a very small but very dedicated community. (Favorite track from that album "LOL", hits hard) Until the biggest und most unnessecary sht storm happened to them. Some natural disaster happened in Thailand, Block B were interviewed and asked if they will donate in favor of the victims , Zico answered something along the lines "I don't even have $5 for myself, why would I donate" (which was apparently more than true, as we found out later that year). The interview was awkward and cringy, the boys were nervous and chaotic. Wrong translations of that interview followed and spreaded FAST. People said Block B were disrespectful and ignorant, korean news sites were publishing all sorts of articles, the commentary section was a mess, death threads and hate speeches, other celebrities spoke out against them. Fans were confused, a lot turned against them in the end. A lot of fuss was made. It all happened 2 weeks or so after their comeback, they had to stop promoting. Block B was devastated. Not even once did they talk back or try to defend themselves. They took every hit. Zico shaved his head as a sign of remorse. They apologised in the most hearttearing way with a 90 degree bow. Half a year passed filled with a lot of hate for Block B. But it only made the fandom stronger and we also gained new supportive fans :) "We got your back" was our slogan, a quote from the intro of "Tell Them". Second comeback of the year was announced, a full length album!!!, and we were so hyped. "Nillili Mambo" was beyond, so was the whole album (favs: No Joke, Movie's Over) It was my first Kpop album I have ever bought, and I still get sentimental when looking at it. So, Block B were going off, and BBCs were . Around a month later it was announced that Block B is suing their company. All the dirty things came up, that Block B hadn't been paid since their debut, that they had a dorm way too small for all the seven of them etc. I don't remember all of it. The company treated them as sht. Block B left them. It was a scary time, because we didn't know if they'd ever come back. But we had faith. Zico was a smart both as a leader and a person, we had faith that he would figure out something. Entertainment's would have been stupid not to take them in. They wrote all of their lyrics themselves, produced most of them also on their own. So we all stood by their side, supported them from the distance, did projects for them, waited for them. And waited, and waited. A year. In September 2013 they announced their comeback under a new agency and this exact MV you see above was their first song they've released after a one year hiatus. This song was dedicated to BBCs, as a response to their support. It marked a new era for Block B. And it meant so much for all of us. They and their fans had gone through so many ups and downs in their first 2 1/2 years, but it also drew them closer together. They've grown so much, musically, mentally, as persons. BBC felt like family. We were a small but strong fandom, and we were so proud of Block B. We loved them and they loved us. (Search for "Block B cry showcase" on youtube.) "Very Good" followed (best comeback of all times) and the rest is pretty much history lol "Jackpot", "Her", "Toy" etc Block B never failed to surprise us with a new sound or a different side. tbh my life cought up with me somewhen in 2017, so I had to drop kpop, but I always like going back. And I am happy to see that our work and support paid off :) They are going their ways and doing what they love to do. It's all I wish for them. And for YOU, yes YOU, I wish all of the best, too. Quarantine makes us feel all the feels, I guess. I was introduced to Block B late, very very late (sometime before Shall We Dance era). Knowing what they had gone through such hardship and knowing that there's a similar group I love who has a similar story (B.A.P) of suing their company after not getting paid makes me thankful that Block B is still together. I have this feeling of wanting to protect them. Same with B.A.P, Block B is irreplaceable. No idol can rock their concepts the way Block B does. I am very grateful that I stan them even though I start late
thank you so much for writing this long story about Block B and the love of BBC for them.. actually I heard their name when I was in hs but I didn't follow them because I was so hyped by Apink during that time (2011) . I really want to avoid stanning boy groups idk why.. but someone introduced me to a variety show called Problematic Men , I was fascinated by RM , but he then left and was replaced by Kyung.. I fell in love with Kyung's cuteness and brain.. so I searched for him and I came across with Block B again.. searched for some songs and eventually fell in love with all the members😭 they are so sweet and talented and visual group.. then also what makes me happy is that Kyung and Bomi (of Apink my bias) were friends and Jaehyo also together with Bomi volunteered for an event ?.. that makes my heart so happy knowing they are friends with my ult fave GG ❤
but recently found out that Kyung will enlist and also Ukwon will follow 😢 that makes me sad.. so rn I am scanning through everything in yt and tw looking for some contents of Block B bcuz I was too late to stan them 😢 .. I hope someday I can see them ot7 again promoting ~~ I will definitely buy an album huhuhu
ps. I'm actually flexing Block B to my couzins (12 yrs old and 15 yrs old)😂 , I always told them this group produces and writes their own songs .. I told them to stan boy groups like them , stan talent and cuteness.. yeah , they love them 😊 I'm proud of my self lol😂
They always have a place in my heart. These boys are amazing. They have gone through a lot but watching them in any variety..yup these are the chaotic boys that always made me smile. I am so happy and grateful they're together till now.

I am so sad that I was not a BBC when they had problems. I just watched this and the video made me cry. Then I read the comments about their old company and what the video means and how this is like the old company beating them down and them getting up and moving forward and going on and I feel like my head is exploding from just now getting all of this figured out and now everything i know is completely different and I swear these guys deserve everything. I love them so much and I never thought I could cry about a band but these guys are so much more. And the fact that they stayed in the game and pushed their way out is just the most beautiful thing in the world. And I don't know how I could ever live my life without them.
