Good luck to you dude, this video just randomly showed up on my home page today. The biggest thing I’ve learned as a RUclipsr is you have to be consistent for a while and if your content is good then you’ll start doing well. It took me 2 months of daily uploads before my channel took off. For most people it could take longer, I think RUclips favors people that are serious about it and doesn’t want to push videos from creators that will be here one day and gone the next.
I did the same and fear the exact same problem has happened to my account. I got the subs and views as expected but there’s no return of real viewers and engagement. I feel the uphill battle will be difficult and all the best to you.
I just stumbled randomly into your video. I wish you good luck. what I can suggest is to make your videos more interactive. You can add animation, captions, and a b-roll, and this will increase your views for sure.
You're awesome. Don't stress how you grow your channel but know that either way will work. The more subscribers you have, the more likely you are to be pushed out. I'm also just starting out too and i'm wishing you all the best. I'm definitely going to give subscribe.
Man your transparency is awesome here. THIS is what will bring subscribers to you. I can't even tell you how many people have asked me this question, about buying RUclips promotions. I actually work in RUclips Automation, and while you're right, the promotion didn't help your core audience, don't worry things will continue normally. One thing to remember, 'most' and I mean MOST of the people that watch your videos will be non subscribers 😁👍 This applies to big channels as well. The subscribers will come organically, don't worry about that. The main thing you want to focus on is being you and doing what you're good at. Also, having bought promotions myself, and seeing people on RUclips posting videos about their experience with it, is definite confirmation that RUclips DOES NOT promote to your core audience for some reason. You would think that because it's RUclips, and the promotion is through them, they would boost your video to people that were interested in it. Nope. And it's actually a strange thing lol. So yeah, no worries. Keep uploading and posting new content, I would definitely land on a sub niche though. Do gaming or unboxing, but not both. If you want to do gaming, do it on a separate channel. The gaming audience is not the unboxing audience, and that will hurt your impressions. Remember, most people that watch your videos won't subscribe. Some will, and that will add up over time, but for your views and growth, definitely land on a sub niche with gaming or unboxing 👍 Take care man
Same happened to me . I paid $100 and got so many subs but seems like they are mostly bots and now my channel is hurting . All because of the stupid promotion tab. Nobody ever watches and nobody ever comments , they are basically dead subscribers and I don’t know what to do.
I did the same on a travel channel i had started with my wife. I spent around 200 i think, and it was pointless i think too. 3000 subscribers, but not active, I thought promoting through youtube would be a good idea, safe and not scammy. But it sures feels scammy now and the videos get less views than before.
Hey! I found your channel through this video.. you have not ruined your channel. Your metrics seem on par for what youtube does.. for example if you go to a LARGE creators page, lets say they have 20 million subs... chances are their videos get 1-2 million average views, sometimes lower, sometimes higher. I have found that most people get 1-2% of their sub count to translate into views. The good news for you is this - are you in a crowded space - yes you are... however now that ive watched your video i can watch 40 other creators videos now as well. meaning there is still room! Good luck in your endeavors - I wish you success!
Subscriber count doesn't matter. Your channel is not ruined. RUclips treats videos individually. If you get a decent click through rate and a good audience retention youtube will push your video. Watch time is king. The more people watch the more ad dollars and the more money youtube makes. Keep people watching and get them to click your end screen to another video and you will be well on your way.
just wanted to say youre doing a great job and keep it up. i have another channel in which i also used the promotions tab and the info i gather from the metrics is that about 3-5 percent of the subs that came from the promotions are returning to watch my new uploads not my older content. which is about right for channels that grow without promotions. But im only in about 100 bucks so i still have much more testing to do. Anyways, thanks for your perspective and you gained a sub from me. Ill be back to watch you grow!!!
Don't pay for subs or views because it will be people who don't resonate with your message. You want to focus everything you have on producing good content. That's it.
This video appeared on my feed. Good luck with your channel!
I have also taken a leap of faith and have started RUclips. I wish you all the best with your journey!

Yes - speaking from personal experience, I like gaming channels and have zero interest in unboxing.
Good luck to ya man

That sucks, i hope thats not the case here
